Increasing of demand in the energy sphere and also unprecedented proliferation of environmental pollutants in the air has pushed human toward the using of renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic systems. Unfortunately, despite all the efforts made, in the field of photovoltaic systems, still the usability of this clean and renewable source is skeptical in the world. This paper examines some basic problems of photovoltaic systems and discusses a few new approaches to reduce some problems of photovoltaic systems. The proposed approaches have capabilities and difficulties which are investigated in this study.

This paper presents a new random weighting method for estimation of Poisson distributions. A theory is established for random weighting estimation of the population parameters of two Poisson distributions with partially missing data. The strong convergence of the random weighting estimation is rigorously proved under the condition of . The random weighting estimation of one-sided confidence intervals in Poisson distribution is also constructed, and its coverage probability is rigorously proved by using the Edgeworth expansion under certain conditions. This paper presents a novel method for estimation of load torque and rotor speed in single-phase Induction Motor (IM) with two asymmetrical windings by using Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). Normally, for estimation of load torque and rotor speed in IM, six state variables namely stator currents, rotor fluxes, rotor speed and load torque, are considered. This paper shows by considering five state variables, estimation of these parameters is possible. Simulation results show the good performance of the presented method. Wide-area communication system is the information exchange supporting platform for wide-area relay protection (WARP), which includes not only visible physical communication equipment and links, but also communication protocols and other upper communication services. WARP communication had become an important issue in WARP practical applications, but it has not been described in IEC 61850 standard. To solve this issue, this paper firstly presents the general steps of WARP modeling according to the layer upon layer modeling methods of the IEC 61850 standard, then proposes a tree structure model of master station and affiliate stations with information interaction model between master station and affiliate stations following IEC 61850 by taking a 220kV smart substation and WARP algorithm based on fault voltage distribution for example, finally establishes a communication model of WARP that includes client/server transfer model, electrical value transmission model and logical status variables transmission model. The fundamental purpose of constructing the communication model is to implement the interoperability between WARP−IED (WARP−Intelligent Electronic Devices) and other IEDs in a smart substation. This paper confers an investigation of a selective harmonic elimination (SHE) technique has gained wide acceptance for many AC drive applications, due to a higher DC bus voltage utilization (higher output voltage compared with the sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM), lower harmonic distortions and easy digital realization.” In recent years, the SHE technique was extensively adopted in multilevel inverters since it offers greater numbers of switching for obtaining further improvements of AC drive performances. “Nevertheless, the use of SHE-associated multilevel inverters will optimize the switching angles based on artificial neural networks (ANN) compared with particle swarm optimization (PSO) to reduce the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the modified CHB-MLI output voltage within permissible limits. The main objectives of this paper are the design and testing of the CHB-MLI modified topology laboratory for a nine-level single-phase prototype.” Also demonstrated were the experimental effects of using Digital Signal Processing (DSP) TMS320F2812 into a prototype. The controls were applied to the modified multilevel inverter, based on ANN and PSO. The proposed controller was then coded onto a board of DSP TMS320F2812. Compared with the PSO method, the inverter gives fewer THD using ANN scheme.

In view of new communication and information technologies that appeared with the emergence of networks and Internet, the computer security became a major challenge, and works in this research axis are increasingly numerous. Various tools and mechanisms are developed in order to guarantee a safety level up to the requirements of modern life. Among them, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS) intended to locate activities or abnormal behaviors suspect to be detrimental to the correct operation of the system. The purpose of this work is the design and the realization of an IDPS inspired from natural immune systems. The study of biological systems to get inspired from them for the resolution of computer science problems is an axis of the artificial intelligence field which gave rise to robust and effective methods by their natural function, the immune systems aroused the interest of researchers in the intrusion detection field, taking into account the similarities of NIS (Natural Immune System) and IDPS objectives. Within the framework of this work, we conceived an IDPS inspired from natural immune system and implemented by using a directed approach. A platform was developed and tests were carried out in order to assess our system performances.

This research deals with the feasibility of a mobile robot to navigate and discover its location at unknown environments, and then constructing maps of these navigated environments for future usage. In this work, we proposed a modified Extended Kalman Filter- Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (EKF-SLAM) technique which was implemented for different unknown environments containing a different number of landmarks. Then, the detectable landmarks will play an important role in controlling the overall navigation process and EKF-SLAM technique’s performance. MATLAB simulation results of the EKF-SLAM technique come with better performance as compared with an odometry approach performance in terms of measuring the mean square error, especially when increasing the number of landmarks. After that, we simulate and evaluate a mobile robot platform named TurtleBot2e in Gazebo simulator software to achieve the using of the SLAM technique for a different environment using the Rviz library which was built on Robot Operating System in Linux. The main conclusion comes with this work is the simulation and implementation of the SLAM technique using two software platforms separately (MATLAB and ROS) in different unknown environments containing a different number of landmarks so a few number of landmark will make the mobile robot loses its path.

Distributed Generation (DG) plays a major role in existing power system. When such distributed generation system is interconnected with micro-grid improves voltage profile, power quality but at the same time results in fault conditions. Among various faults occurring in the power system, short circuit faults are the most predominant case. This results in the increase in flow of the fault current in the line. Also the equipments installed in such a line get damaged internally due to flow of excess fault current. Therefore in order to improve the transient conditions and limit the fault current to a manageable level, a device called Fault Current Limiters (FCLs) are being used in recent trend. This paper reviews about various fault current limiters, their development, characteristics and operating performance in the system. It gives a detailed knowledge about various operations performed by fault current limiters that is compared with other conventional techniques.

The random movement of nodes makes the topology structure be one of the most important characteristics in wireless multi-hop communication network, which makes the description and quantization of the dynamic property the very foundation of the design, simulation and measurement for this kind of network. Wireless Ad hoc network as a typical multi-hop network will be focused on in this paper. The distributions of the link duration and the topology duration will be derived and verified by simulations. Then, the topology flapping sensing method has been put forward based on TTL. Finally, the probability model of the topology stability in the measurement time has been established and calculated based on network tomography for wireless ad hoc network in this paper. Simulating results verify the correctness and efficiency of the approach, which will provide the technique basis of research on the dynamic property and end-to-end measurement for wireless multi-hop communication network.
