Enhancement of teaching and education is crucial. This enhancement is rapidly improved through combining communication and technology resulting in various benefits (particularly the wireless Technologies (WT)). Such combination encourages lecturers to meet the worldwide demand for changing traditional teaching techniques to technology-based methods. Wireless system networks (WSNs) represent systems of smart devices that arelinked wirelessly. In addition, these devices are characterized by having a bandwidth of bounded communication, abilities of sensing and computation. For performing operations of control, this system employs a Flywheel Position Control System (FW PCS) as a plant node. This study utilizes the True Time 1.5 MATLAB/Simulink platform for simulating and implementing the WSN mathematical model with wireless networks. The simulation is carried out between plant nodes and controller using the IEEE 802.15.4 standard (also called ZigBee) via protocols of Wi-Fi. The suggested E-learning model comprises a set of properties that can encourage and enhance the level of students in various learning purposes and stages.

In order to acquire a better cognition to the single phase permanent magnet low speed synchronous motor and validate the correctness of the motor mathematical model, the performances of the motor are tested with the single phase permanent magnet low speed synchronous motor whose type is 70TDY4, the corresponding simulations are done too. The resistance and the inductance of the single phase permanent magnet low speed synchronous motor are measured. According to the data of experiments and simulations, the static characteristics of the single phase permanent magnet low speed synchronous motor with the changes of the phase shift resistance and the phase shift capacitance are analysed, the results of experiments and simulations prove the correctness of the mathematics model. A single channel land surface temperature (LST) retrieval algorithm named Single Channel Water Vapor Dependent (SCWVD) method was presented for Medium Resolution Spectral Imager (MERSI) thermal infrared band aboard FengYun-3A (FY-3A) satellite. Water Vapor Content (WVC) is the only input parameter in the algorithm assuming the surface emissivity is known. NCEP reanalysis monthly mean datasets are used to develop the SCWVD algorithm. Some tests, including global numerical simulations and validations with both in-situ measurements and MODIS LST product at Lake Tahoe, USA, were carried out to evaluate the algorithm performance. Compared with NCEP data and U.S. standard mid-latitude summer atmosphere model, the retrieved LST from simulated MERSI brightness temperature with MODTRAN had a RMSE about 0.8 K. In the validation, MERSI Level 2 water vapor product was employed, and the MERSI band emissivity was evaluated using the MODIS band 31 and 32 emissivity with an empirical expression. The results show that the difference between the retrieved MERSI LST and the in-situ measurements is less than 1 K in most situations. The comparison with the MODIS LST products (V5) shows that the RMSE is about 2.3 K.

This paper presents 200 KW three phase standalone photovoltaic systems supplying pumping station consist of four pumps 40 KW rating. The system utilizes a two stage energy conversion power conditioning unit topology composed of a DC-DC boost converter and three level-three phase voltage source inverter (VSI). The Boost converter in this paper is designed to operate in continuous mode and controlled for maximum power point tracking (MPPT). The fluctuating output power of the PV array system during the day is the commonly problem in the power system. In this paper a nickel-Cadmium battery will be used to maintain the output power generated from the PV array supplying the pumps to be constant all the day under different operating conditions. The system is modeled and studied using MATLAB/Simulink

Concrete material is one of the wide applications materials in the engineering. There is an important implication on national life safety to research its destruction. And size effect of the concrete also has an important impact on failure mechanism and strain injury of the concrete. There are many influencing factors on concrete size effect. In this paper, we will use the numerical simulation method to research the concrete compression failure from two aspects. One is the arrangement of the aggregate and the other is the aggregate maximum rotation angle. Finally, we got the impact of the law that the two aspects how affected the concrete compression failure. This will provide great guiding significance to the engineering practice. This paper proposes Firefly Algorithm (FA) with fuzzy approach for solving combined economic-emission load dispatch (CEELD) problem in power generation. The main objective of the CEELD problem is to determine the optimal cost and emission level of power generation and fulfill the load demand and operational constraints. The CEELD problem used weighted sum method to combine two objective functions (cost and emission) into single objective. Then, the Fuzzy-based mechanism approach is integrated in FA to find the best compromise solution for both conflicting cost and emission level. The FA has been tested on IEEE 118-bus 14-unit test system for minimization both cost of power generation and emission level. The performance of FA for solving CEELD problem has been investigated in terms of optimal solution, convergence characteristics and Pareto front solution. From the comparison of the CEELD solutions, it found that FA can provide significant cost and emission reduction compared to other methods. Thus, it can be used as alternative approach for solving any optimization problems.

In the motor fault diagnosis technology, vibration signals can fully reflect the motor operation conditions. In this paper, a linear motor fault diagnosis method based on wavelet packet and neural network was presented. The improved neural network system was designed with variable hidden layer neurons. The network chose different numerical values depending on different situations to reach the requirements that improving diagnostic accuracy and shortening the diagnosis time. The linear motor’s normal and two common faults vibration signals were analyzed and the vibration signals energy characteristics were extracted through wavelet packet, then identified fault through neural network. With the dramatic expansion of image information nowadays, image processing and computer visions are playing a significant role in terms of several applications such as image classification, image segmentation, pattern recognition, and image retrieval. One of the important features that have been used in many image applications is texture. The texture is the characteristic of a set of pixels that formed the image. Therefore, analyzing such texture would have a significant impact on segmenting the image or detecting important portions of such image. This paper aims to overview the feature extraction and description techniques depicted in the literature to characterize regions for images. In particular, two of popular descriptors will be examined including local binary pattern (LBP) and gabor filter. The key characteristic behind such investigation lies in how the features of an image would contribute toward the process of recognition and image classification. In this regard, an extensive discussion is provided on both LBP and Gabor descriptors along with the efforts that have been intended to combine them. The reason behind investigating these descriptors is that they are considered the most common local and global descriptors used in the literature. The overall aim of this survey is to show current trends on using, modifying and adapting these descriptors in the domain of image processing.

Since the cancellous bone displays a fluid-solid coupled porous structure, its solid matrix exhibits excellent osteogenic property and has been extensively used as the scaffold material of tissue-engineering bone. It is the aim of the present paper to examine the transversely isotropic behavior of cancellous bone. Correspondingly, a two-dimension image analysis method was developed to determine the distribution characteristics of cancellous bone porosity. The fresh behind-leg tibia of three swine were dissected to develop a total of 36 HE staining specimens of cancellous bone, which were subjected to different anatomical locations along the axial or lateral direction. All cancellous bone specimens or cut-sections were examined microscopically and processed quantitatively. The main results and conclusions are as follows: (a) The cancellous bone porosity is gradually decreased along the axial direction of tibia and approaching to the cortical bone, but almost constant along the lateral direction of tibia. Correspondingly, cancellous bone can be modeled as a transversely isotropic, liquid saturated porous solid.(b) The two-dimensional image analysis method is able to be used to relatively accurately determine the distribution characteristics of the cancellous bone porosity from different directions if the number of cancellous bone cut-sections is sufficient. With the development of the IPv6 networks, more and more applications put forward to use multicast. Multicast security and management is one of the key issues for IP multicast services deployment in IPv6 network as in IPv4 network. We introduce the idea of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) in software scope to multicast service, and design a Service-oriented Controllable Multicast Model (SOCMM) for IPv6 multicast services.
