Abstract

This paper proposes a new multi-objective optimization design method for Hybrid Active Power Filter based on the Vortex Search algorithm. The Vortex Search algorithm belongs to the Single-Solution Based algorithm class of Metaheuristics algorithm. This design method has the advantage of fast execution time, high convergence speed and prevent local trap problems. The achieved results are multi-objective, such as minimum total harmonic distortion of the supply current and source voltage and satisfy many constraints such as system stability, resonance conditions of branches and limits of the parameters. Compared with the traditional design method, simulation results have proved that: the proposed design method is given with better results in minimizing total harmonic distortion of the supply current and source voltage.

Abstract

There are a lot of ways to achieve large current pulse power supply, and the more common way is to adopt the inverter switching circuit to achieve pulse power supply. The core of the NC power supply design of large current and wide frequency pulse in SEAM is using two-stage modulation. Combined with inverter technology, DC chopper technology and NC technology, it not only can achieve the adjustability of the output pulse amplitude, but also can realize continuous adjustment of the output pulses and the duty cycle. The front stage of power supply uses DC/DC transformation circuit with the UC3879 integrated control chip as the core. With the microcontroller as the control core, the backward stage uses DC chopper circuit to achieve the NC power supply of multi-parameter adjustable output large current pulse.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2812

Abstract

In this paper, the model base and objects to be identified are classed as information granules by the information granulation idea. A proper system of polar coordinates is established. The fuzzy pattern recognition problem is studied by the L-series of formation in the abstract analytic number theory. A method is given to evaluate the model base type of the information granules, which consist of massive data. Additionally,it is used to analyze the relation between process parameters and weld appearance in the welding process.  At the same time, the relations between weld appearance and process parameters are studies by the rough set and the disposal of data discretization based on attribute-priority algorithm. The results with these two methods are coincident. The method proposed in this paper is proved to be true. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i3.4521

Abstract

In this study, optimal parameters estimation is performed for non-linear (Kuramoto-Sivashinsky) equation using a crossbred method between Particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm and (NIM) technique and for the appropriateness we call it (PSO-NIM). It turns out that the optimal parameters significantly improve the solutions when we use a fitness function suitable for the issue. The results confirmed that the get approximate solutions are in suitable pact with the exact solutions and the proposed method provides high accuracy and efficiency in comparison with (NIM) which use traditionally chosen parameters.

Abstract

Home automation system is one of the intelligent systems meant to create new opportunities for industry and business, as well as new experiences for users and consumers. This project is about designing, developing and testing a web-based intelligent home automation system called i-Home. The main users will be residents in any residential area i.e. gated community, terrace housing area, condominium and others. Its function is to ease residents in controlling the lights, fans, air conditioning, the house temperature and monitoring their CCTVs through online. For the hardware component Raspberry Pi was used due to its low cost, credit card-sized single-board computer that includes a processor, GPU, RAM and MicroSD as the server. Raspberry Pi primarily uses Linux-kernel-based operating system. It also requires PHP, JavaScript, Python and MySQL. The prototype of the system was built and performed most of the functions of home automation system. Usability and functional testing were carried out and both results showed that all functions worked perfectly.

Abstract

In the research on software aging and rejuvenation, one of the most important questions is when to trigger the rejuvenation action. And it is useful to predict the system resource utilization state efficiently for determining the rejuvenation time. In this paper, we propose software aging prediction model based on extreme learning machine (ELM) for a real VOD system. First, the data on the parameters of system resources and application server are collected. Then, the data is preprocessed by normalization and principal component analysis (PCA). Then, ELMs are constructed to model the extracted data series of systematic parameters. Finally, we get the predicted data of system resource by computing the sum of the outputs of these ELMs. Experiments show that the proposed software aging prediction method based on wavelet transform and ELM is superior to the artificial neural network (ANN) and support vector machine (SVM) in the aspects of prediction precision and efficiency. Based on the models employed here, software rejuvenation policies can be triggered by actual measurements. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i11.3495

Abstract

In this study, we focus on plasmonic nanoantenna structures for the U shaped. We will do our simulations with FDTD method (finite difference time domain) by considering commercial software Lumerical. We use U-shaped and play with the geometrical parameters such as length (L), width (W), high (H), to enhance the transmission of light. In addition to this, we will consider the different methods and substrates. U-shaped designed structure by using gold and MgF2 materials and studied how to enhance nanoantenna coefficients to get the highest electric field improvement factor and support multi-spectral resonances, that can be tuned from visible to near-IR wavelengths. For the optimum coefficients, the proposed U-shaped nanoantenna reached the optimal transmission and multi-resonant for different geometrical size. In results shows that in this model are wideband range of wavelengths and optimal transmission and all physical boundary conditions are chosen as perfectly matched layer (PML) to avoid undesired reflections, when we change the size of U-shaped with different materials is used and gets more proposes in the biosensors, biomedical and laser optical communication and for nanoantennas can also be deposited on layered substrates to enable solar cells and energy harvesting applications .And we can see that there are two resonances at (????1 and ????2) wavelength range (500-950) nm, the first one has a transmission 0.73 at wavelength 700nm; and the other one has a transmission 0.88 at wavelength 845nm from this designed. We will investigate the structure of nanoantenna to be used as biosensors.

Abstract

Silicon carbide (SiC) SITs were fabricated using home-grown epi structures. The gate is a recessed gate - bottom contact (RG - B). We designed that the mesa space 2.5 μm and the gate channel is 1.5 μm. One cell has 400 source fingers and each source finger width is 50 μm. 0.5 mm gate periphery SiC SIT yielded a maximum drain current density of 160 mA/mm at a drain voltage of 80 V and a gate voltage of 2.5 V. The device blocking voltage with a gate bias of -16 V was 400 V. Packaged 0.5-mm devices were evaluated using amplifier circuits designed for class AB operations. Small signal of SIT was studied. the maximum stable gain (MSG) were 11.2 dB at 500MHz and 7.85 dB at L band 1 GHz with Vds = 80V and Vg = 2V. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i5.2559

Abstract

Speed sensorless vector control of 3-phase induction motor under open-phase fault (faulty 3-phase induction motor) ased on Indirect Rotor Field-Oriented Control (RFOC) is proposed in this paper. To ensure high performance FOC of induction motor drives, the estimation of the rotor speed is necessary. However, the algorithm used to estimate the rotor speed for a 3-phase induction motor cannot be used directly for a faulty 3-phase induction motor. This is because the faulty induction motor model is different from the healthy 3-phase induction motor. To overcome this problem, in this paper a new switching Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) s proposed to update online the rotor speed. The proposed algorithm can be used for estimation of rotor speed in both healthy and faulty conditions. MATLAB simulation results are carried out to show the capability of the proposed drive system. The results show the activity of the proposed method at wide range speed operation.
