Abstract

The capacitance selection of the three-phase self-excited induction generators (SEIG) driven by wind energy is influences by the iron losses. This paper is dealing with this problem by constructing a steady state model of the generator supplying an induction oil pump. No previous literature studying the requirements of selecting the minimum excitation capacitance under the iron loss impact is found. This work is focusing on: (i) a novel evaluation of the characteristics of the induction generator taking iron loss into account. (ii) the errors caused by neglecting the iron loss. (iii) the importance of including the iron-loss in any accurate analysis. (iv) the errors occurred in the selection of the precise excitation capacitance (Cexct) when the iron-loss neglected. Nodal analysis is suggested to describe the study-state performance of the proposed model. A Matlab/simulation is established to validate the proposed model.

Abstract

In the recent decades, several methods have been developed to extract moving objects in the presence of dynamic background. However, most of them use a global threshold, and ignore the correlation between neighboring pixels. To address these issues, this paper presents a new approach to generate a probability image based on Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) method, and then apply the Maximum A Posteriori in the Markov Random Field (MAP-MRF) based on probability image, so as to generate an energy function, this function will be minimized by the binary graph cut algorithm to detect the moving pixels instead of applying a thresholding step. The proposed method was tested on various video sequences, and the obtained results showed its effectiveness in presence of a dynamic scene, compared to other background subtraction models.

Abstract

The paper a nonlinear model of bolt joints structure in vibration environment is built, including the friction, contact and so on complex nonlinear factors. Structure Intensity (SI) of it is calculated by Finite Element Method(FEM)as an approach for the state identification of bolts joints structure in vibration environment. The plots of the structure intensity vector under different tightening torque were obtained and showed the SI changes of bolt joints structure with different tightening torque, and showed the energy distribution and transmission at different tightening torque. In order to compare, The SI maps of of rigid connected beam at different tightening torque also were obtained.

Abstract

On the basis of the research of wavelet transform and digital watermarking technology, this paper proposed a self-adaptive discrete wavelet transform(DWT) digital watermarking algorithm, which can achieve the purpose of embedding hidden watermarks by decompose three-level wavelet of image and decompose bit-plane of watermarking gray scale image by Arnold scrambling transformation. Layer adaptive threshold and quantizer were referenced in this algorithm, and which adaptive selected coefficient of detail subbands of embedded watermarking to improve the robustness of the watermarking. In testing of semi-blind watermarking, renewing of watermarking based on the embedding sequence of point locations and the quantizer sequence without participation of the original image. Experimental results show that the algorithm is effective to improve the robustness of the cut, adding noise, filtering, and compression image attack treatment.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i11.2761

Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to determine optimal locations and sizing of Distributed Generations (DGs) and Distribution STATic COMpensator (D-STATCOM) in the distribution network for reducing the system losses and to improve the voltage profile. In this paper, the loss sensitivity factor approach is used to determine optimal location for DG and voltage stability index is used to determine optimal location for D-STATCOM. The objective of proposed optimization problem is to minimize the total real power losses in the system while satisfying several equality and inequality constraints. Artificial fish swarm optimization algorithm (AFSOA) is used to determine the optimal size of DG and D-STATCOM. The simulations are performed on standard 33 bus and 69 bus radial distribution systems and the obtained  results show the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed approach.

Abstract

This paper presents a recently developed the finite model method for analysis of horizontal axis wind turbine blades. Free vibration equation is proposed based on theory of the classical lamination and Lagrange method. A 40 m rotor blade was chosen as a example study to validate the static and dynamic behaviour predicted by shell model built in ANSYS,Given uncertainty of material properties involved, an accurate agreement was found for static deformation curves, as well as a good prediction of the lowest frequency modes in terms of resonance frequencies, the highest (eighth) frequency modes show only a fair agreement as expected for an FE model, Flap-wise, edge-wise and  torsional  natural  frequencies of  a  variable  length  blade  have been investigated. The results show that the approach used in this study is very efficient and produces improved designs as compared with a reference or baseline design. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.3944

Abstract

The carbon emissionshas attracts great concerns in engineering technology researches. The decomposition analysis technology has been popular in the study on influencing factors of industrial carbon emissions(ICE). The change of industries’s CO2 emissions from the three main industries in China over the period 1980-2011 based on the logarithmic mean divisia index (LMDI) method has been carried out. The research indicated that economic activity effect was the main influence factor for ICE increase in China over the entire period; the decline in energy intensity and the adjustment of energy and change in the CO2 emission coefficient were major determinants for reduction of ICE. Meanwhile, we found that China had made a significant contribution to reducing global CO2 emissions by decreasing its energy intensity. Based on the fore study, the mechanism of CO2 emission changes has been analyzed and the pressure-driven environment protection model has been put forward. http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i5.2484

Abstract

In this paper, we adopted the area filling method of the mathematical morphology to fill the holes of the nut. In addition, the bimodal method and multi-threshold method were combined for the image segmentation. Furthermore, the image edge was detected by mathematical morphology algorithm. Finally, the angle between the bolt and manipulator was calculated using the rotation conversion matrix. With the systematic error and correlation coefficient, the calculated angle was verified. Experimental results show that the method can protect the edge integrity of the nut image, with fast processing speed and strong anti-noise ability. The work in this paper provides a theoretical basis for the automatic recognition in the large ball valve sealing bolt system.

Abstract

The converter dry dedusting is more complicated with higher requirements in automatic control than the wet dust extraction. The key difficult point is the EC temperature control. This paper puts forth a method to effectively deal with the fluctuated-drastically temperature caused by control lagging at the EC outlet in the traditional converter dry dedusting. The EC outlet temperature can be under control of technological requirement by combining controls of proportion, empirical value, fuzziness and PID. The intelligent system is available with parameter auto tuning, which facilitates the on-site debugging greatly for operators. The result of the on-site application suggests that this method can be used to well handle some technological difficulties in the EC temperature control. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i9.3297
