Abstract

Human Resource is an essential part for an organization and integration of technology would just enhance the effectiveness. One of the scope that Human Resource must take note is performance and productivity. However, there is still no infallible or highly reliable way to measure productivity and performance of an organization and its employees for current industrial Human Resource systems. There is still possible improvement that can be made to the system in the current time. The purpose of this study is to propose a modular and extensible framework of Human Resource systems that used to measure the performance and productivity of an organization. This study compares the different criteria of existing Human Resource systems to ensure the proposed framework would surpassed the current real world industrial system. The results of the review provide insights for important criteria in HR system to increase the accuracy of the performance review. This study also constructs Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) to demonstrate the logical structure of the proposed framework. The ERD will form the foundation of the proposed framework to improve the Human Resource system for evaluating the productivity and performance of an organization.

Abstract

Manual analysis of thermal image for detecting defects and classifying of condition of surge arrester take a long time. Artificial neural network is good tool for predict and classify data. This study applied neural network for classify the degree of degradation of surge arrester. Thermal image as input of neural network was segmented using Otsu’s segmentation and histogram method to get features of thermal image. Leakage current as a target of supervise neural network was extracted and applied Fast Fourier Transform to get third harmonic of resistive leakage current. The classification results meet satisfaction with error about 3%.

Abstract

In recent days, data sharing has provided the flexibility to share the data, store the data, and perform operation on data virtually as well as cost effectively. Data sharing in cloud is one of the feature, which is being popular and widely accepted. However, the concern here is to ensure the data security and this has led the researcher to research in this area. To provide the security several Proxy re-encryption scheme has been introduced, however all these method lacks of efficiency. Hence In this paper, we propose a scheme known as ALBC (Adaptive Lattice Based Cryptography), this scheme follows the two phase i.e. encryption and Re-encryption. Encryption phase has few algorithms such as Key_Gen, Enc, Dec. Similarly ALBC Re-Enc has five algorithm i.e. Key_Gen, Key_ReGen,  Enc, Re-Enc, Dec. our algorithm not only provides the security but also solves the problem of RL(Ring-learning) with errors problems. In order to evaluate, our algorithm is compared with the existing model in terms of encryption time, decryption time, re-encryption time, key generation  and key regeneration by varying the various key size. When we observe the comparative analysis, it is observed that our algorithm outperforms the existing algorithm.

Abstract

Regarding the power, the efficiency and the discharge questions of the low-speed diesel engine, this article studied emphatically the Miller cycle, the analysis technology for the air intake system, and the matching technology for the intake and the exhaust. On the foundation of the twin inlet structure the paper analyzed the intake swirl control area and its influence to the gas charging efficiency, proposed the design scheme for the invariable intake swirl control system. By matching reasonably the intake, the exhaust, and the injection process of the diesel engine, the combustion process is further optimized to satisfy the target request for the complete machine’s power, fuel oil efficiency and emission. Aiming at the high-power low-speed marine diesel engine, the paper analyzes the impact of the diesel engine’s cooling to the power, economy and NOx’s emission, studies the variable flow control method and system of the diesel engine cooling water and proposes the scheme setting up the intercooler system and the body cooling system independently in the diesel engine. The results show that the methods and systems are better to improve the engine power, reduce the fuel consumption and NOx’s emission. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.4213

Abstract

An installed based astute ready framework is contrived for the best possible checking and support of the waste. This structure turns away the unpredictable cleaning of the dustbins by sending alarms to the concerned individual at general interims. It additionally enhances the framework by also supporting the status of cleaning progressively and measure the execution of the group. Accordingly, this structure proves to be useful as a praiseworthy arrangement in natural support. Notwithstanding this, it additionally helps to lessen the requirement for high human intercession in junk support of the district and contamination observing framework.

Abstract

Wireless sensor network (WSN) is considered as the enabling technology to increase coordination between the physical and virtual worlds. A typical WSN is composed of a large number of computing devices known as nodes which are responsible for sensing and reporting some phenomenon to a sink or base-station where some useful conclusions are drawn from the reported data. Most of the times, the sensed data is of limited usage if not accompanied with timestamp and position information. In addition, several other basic operations in WSNs are based on efficient time synchronization such as duplicate detection, data aggregation/fusion, energy management, transmission scheduling, and cryptography etc; therefore time synchronization plays a pivotal role in operational activities of the network. In this paper, we discuss all the related issues and challenges that revolve around time synchronization in WSNs. Our purpose in writing this paper is to provide an in-depth understanding of the clock synchronization problem in WSNs so that the application designers can fine tune their applications in accordance with the underlined constraints and complexities involved.

Abstract

In this paper, a new hybrid optimization technique is proposed namely Adaptive Embedded Clonal Evolutionary Programming (AECEP). This idea comes from the combination part of the clone in an Artificial Immune System (AIS) and then combined with Evolutionary Programming (EP). This technique was implemented to determine the optimal sizing of Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) devices. This study focused on the ability of Static Var Compensator (SVC) is used for the optimal operation of the power system as well as in reducing congestion in power system. In order to determine the location of SVC, the previous study has been done using pre-developed voltage stability index, Fast Voltage Stability Index (FVSI). Congested lines or buses will be identified based on the highest FVSI value for the purpose of SVC placement. The optimizations were conducted for the SVC sizing under single contingency, where SVC was modeled in steady state analysis. The objective function of this study is to minimize the power loss and improve the voltage profile along with the reduction of congestion with the SVC installation in the system. Validation on the IEEE 30 Bus RTS and IEEE 118 Bus RTS revealed that the proposed technique managed to reduce congestion in power system.

Abstract

Automatic speech recognition (ASR) is a technology that allows a computer and mobile device to recognize and translate spoken language into text. ASR systems often produce poor accuracy for the noisy speech signal. Therefore, this research proposed an ensemble technique that does not rely on a single filter for perfect noise reduction but incorporates information from multiple noise reduction filters to improve the final ASR accuracy. The main factor of this technique is the generation of K-copies of the speech signal using three noise reduction filters. The speech features of these copies differ slightly in order to extract different texts from them when processed by the ASR system. Thus, the best among these texts can be elected as final ASR output. The ensemble technique was compared with three related current noise reduction techniques in terms of CER and WER. The test results were encouraging and showed a relatively decreased by 16.61% and 11.54% on CER and WER compared with the best current technique. ASR field will benefit from the contribution of this research to increase the recognition accuracy of a human speech in the presence of background noise.

Abstract

In Ethiopia, the largest ethnic and linguistic groups are the Oromos, Amharas and Tigrayans. This paper presents the performance analysis of text-independent speaker identification system for the Amharic language in noisy environments. VQ (Vector Quantization), GMM (Gaussian Mixture Models), BPNN (Back propagation neural network), MFCC (Mel-frequency cepstrum coefficients), GFCC (Gammatone Frequency Cepstral Coefficients), and a hybrid approach had been use as techniques for identifying speakers of Amharic language in noisy environments. For the identification process, speech signals are collected from different speakers including both sexes; for our data set, a total of 90 speakers’ speech samples were collected, and each speech have 10 seconds duration from each individual. From these speakers, 59.2%, 70.9% and 84.7% accuracy are achieved when VQ, GMM and BPNN are used on the combined feature vector of MFCC and GFCC.
