Abstract

Environmental problem is a worldwide focus, so as the effect of environmental regulation on economic. In this paper, we constructed a model including energy consumption and integrated pollutant emissions of "Three wastes" as "bad" output. This paper used Malmquist –Luenberger based on directional distance function to measure TFP and environmental regulation cost of Chinese 36 industries from 2001 to 2010. The result was that: From the overall analysis, the TFP was lower after considering the environmental regulation. Technological progress was the main driver of productivity growth. Environmental regulation brought about a certain cost; from the industry analysis, there were some differences between industries on TFP growth and the cost of environmental regulation. The monopoly and heavy industrieswere the focus in the industry; from the annual analysis, TFP increased during "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, mainly drived by technological progress.

Abstract

This paper presents a low-cost PV current-voltage or I-V curve tracer that has the Internet of Things (IoT) capability. Single ended primary inductance converter (SEPIC) is used to develop the I-V tracer, which is able to cope with rapidly changing irradiation conditions. The I-V tracer control software also has the ability to automatically adapt to the varying irradiation conditions. The performance of the I-V curve tracer is evaluated and verified using simulation and experimental tests.

Abstract

As the rapid growth of economy and population, the wild animals’ habitat is badly damaged by the development and utilization of wild animals living environment by people. To carry out the research on wildlife monitoring technology is of great significance. Along with the advent of the era of 3G, 3G transmission technology is more and more advanced, and the Android operating system is currently the most popular operating system. Abstract

Due to the ever-increasing energy demand, power system operators have attempted to cope with these demands while keeping the power system remain operable. Economic constraints have forced the power system operator to abandon their effort in expanding the power system. The increased load demand can cause the power system to suffer from voltage instability and voltage collapse, especially during contingency condition. Hence, a strategy is required to maintain the steady state operation of a power system. Various research has been conducted to tackle this problem. Therefore, this paper presents the implementation of Chaos Embedded Symbiotic Organisms Search technique to solve optimal FACTS device allocation problem in power transmission system. Various practical constraints are also considered in the optimisation process to emulate the real-life constraints in power system. The optimisation process is conducted on a 26-bus IEEE RTS has validated that the results obtained has not violated the power system stability. The results provided by the proposed optimisation technique has successfully improved the voltage profile and voltage security in the system. Comparative studies are also conducted involving Particle Swarm Optimization and Evolutionary Programming technique resulting good results agreement and superiority of the proposed technique. Results obtained from this study would be beneficial to the power system operators regarding optimisation in power system operation for the implementation in real power transmission network.

Abstract

The main rule of an electrical grid is to supply electrical energy to consumers as economically as possible, and with an adequate degree of reliability. Reliability is an essential measure and important component of all power system planning and operation procedures. In this paper, the electrical grid reliability is evaluated by Fault Tree (FT) analysis. In this method Alternating Current (AC) load flow analysis is combined with the FT technique. The electrical grid reliability is calculated based on the unreliability of the power supplied to the loads. The verification of the method is performed on a part of the Egyptian electrical grid (Alexandria zone 17-bus). The electrical grid components are sorted according to their influence on the electrical grid reliability.

Abstract

An automatic loading simulation and testing system of steering servo was designed in this paper. Design of hardware and software of the testing system were illustrated, and the Load testing principle and test strategy were analyzed. Torque servo motor was used to simulate the loading added to the steering servo. The torque magnitude was controlled proportional to the angular displacement of the steering servo to simulate elastic load. Fuzzy PID control algorithm was used to make torque servo motor follow the change of angular displacement quickly and accurately. Abstract

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is emergingtechnology and has wide range of applications, such as environment monitoring, industrial automation and numerous military applications. Hence, WSN is popular among researchers. WSN has several constraints such as restricted sensing range, communication range and limited battery capacity. These limitations bring issues such as coverage, connectivity, network lifetime and scheduling & data aggregation. There are mainly three strategies for solving coverage problems namely; force, grid and computational geometry based. PSO is a multidimensional optimization method inspired from the social behavior of birds called flocking. Basic version of PSO has the drawback of sometimes getting trapped in local optima as particles learn from each other and past solutions. This issue is solved by discrete version of PSO known as Modified Discrete Binary PSO (MDBPSO) as it uses probabilistic approach. This paper discusses performance analysis of random; grid based MDBPSO (Modified Discrete Binary Particle Swarm Optimization), Force Based VFCPSO and Combination of Grid & Force Based sensor deployment algorithms based on interval and packet size. From the results of Combination of Grid & Force Based sensor deployment algorithm, it can be concluded that its performance is best for all parameters as compared to rest of the three methods when interval and packet size is varied.

Abstract

Laboratory design of an ozoneconcentration regulator which is build on the theory of continuity equation forgas flow in parallel pipes in conjunction with the ozone elimination potentialsof an ozone destructor is presented. At an initial oxygen flow rate of 33.33 cm3s-1,ozone concentration was  generated andvaried between 429.30 parts per million (ppm) to 3826.60 ppm.  Similarly at an initial oxygen flow rate of 25cm3s-1, ozone concentration was  generated and varied between 387.30 ppm to4435.20 ppm. Effect of flow meter when the ozone concentration was set toapproximate 1000 ppm  were investigatedand reported. Abstract

Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) has attracted attention in recent years in conducting missions for longer time with higher levels of autonomy. For the enhanced autonomous characteristic of UAV, path planning is one of the crucial issues. Current researches on the graph search algorithms under combinatorial method are mainly reviewed in this paper by keeping focus on the comprehensive surveys of its properties for path planning. The outcome is a pen picture of their assumptions and drawbacks.

Abstract

This article presents the development of a lighting control network to reduce the energy consumption of a commercial building, using the KNX protocol; because of the high rates of electricity consumption, the same that are reflected in the payment of the electricity supply. For this, the design of the network architecture is carried out, the tree type quality and it has KNX, DALI components and LED luminaires, which are interconnected by means of an Ethernet type BUS; The KNX protocol configuration is then performed using the ETS version 5 software; carries out the implementation of KNX technology, determines the reduction of energy consumption by 82.33%. Likewise, emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the main gases involved in climate change, were reduced by 85%. With these results we obtain economic and environmental benefits; Reason why it is proposed to perform the same procedure for the control of air conditioning systems, since their operation represents 32.8% of the energy consumption of an establishment.
