Abstract

Fertilizer is a chemical substance or organism that has the role in supplying the nutrient substance to the plants directly or indirectly added to the soil in order for the plant to ordinary grow.  Much information on fertilizer is available on the internet, however the existence is still widely spread. Therefore, a forum to especially accommodate fertilizer selection using knowledge management system (KMS) is needed. In this research on fertilizer selection using knowledge management system is developed using the KMS Life Cycle (KMSLC) method, and implemented using Web based application. The knowledge in this system is obtained from expert explicit data entry and uploaded file from the users that has to be validated by an expert. The expert validation process is carried out with approval system, communication through messages and conversation. The outcome of the research is a web based application that was tried out by the users with good average tested value. DOI:  http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v13i3.7224

Abstract

The main aim of this study is to obtain the best approximate solution for the nonlinear Ito system by applying the new iterative method, A new technique has been proposed that combines the new iterative method with the particle optimization algorithm. The most important distinctive of this work is the analysis of errors between the exact solution of the system and the approximate solutions, which showed us that these approximate solutions of the proposed technique in particular have high accuracy because they converge significantly from the exact solution.

Abstract

Based on the nonlinear model of airship pitch channel, a kind of sliding mode control method is designed without any prior information about airship parameters. The adaptive turning law is adopted to solve the unknown information of airship in model. So the whole information for controller can used are only the measurement of pith angle and its angle speed. Detailed simulation are done for two situations such as airship flying with big trust and small trust Numerical simulation results shows that the airship can fly smooth and safe. Especially, the controller can use the same group of parameters during all kinds of above flying conditions. So it shows that the proposed method is reasonable and effective. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i4.4754

Abstract

This paper proposes a nine level cascaded multilevel inverter based on the flip flops and logic gates. Generally multilevel inverter is used to achieve the high power by using a series of power semiconductor switches with the several dc voltage sources which is used to perform the power conversion. In this paper the flip flop based CMLI is compared with the conventional CMLI. The flip flops and logic gates are used to create logic equation for the each switch of the CMLI by using the switching states. This proposed topology is mainly used to reduce the total harmonic distortion and also increase the performance of the system. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v15i1.7978

Abstract

Based on the gap acceptance theory, this paper analyzed running state of the intersection streams about the main traffic priority controls. Theories were used in this paper, such as gap theory, the probability theory and the calculation methods of minor capacity under two vehicle streams. The calculating formula of minor capacity for n main vehicle streams was derived under the conditions of M3 distribution by the main stream headway at the uncontrolled intersection. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1636

Abstract

Object detection and tracking is an essential preliminary task in event analysis systems (e.g. Visual surveillance).Typically objects are extracted and tagged, forming representative tracks of their activity. Tagging is usually performed by probabilistic data association. However, as data may have been collected at different times or in different locations, it is often impossible to establish such associations in systems capturing disjoint areas. In this case, appearance matching is a valuable aid. This paper proposes a object matching method for multi-camera by combining HOG and block LBP, and computes accuracy rate by SVM. Using independent tracks of 30 different persons, we show that the proposed representation effectively discriminates visual object and that it presents high resilience to incorrect object segmentation and illumination. Experimental results show that the average accuracy DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i10.3418

Abstract

The aspect sensitivity of high-resolution range profile (HRRP) leads to the anomalous change of the HRRP statistical characteristic, which is one of inextricable problems on the target recognition based on HRRP. Aiming at the HRRP statistical characteristic, an adaptive angular-sector segmentation method is proposed through based on the grey relational mode. Comparing to the equal interval angular-sector segmentation method, the new method improves the recognition performance. And these simulation results of five kinds of aircraft targets HRRPs prove the feasibility and validity.

Abstract

In this paper, the system performance in term of the ergodic capacity of a half-duplex decode-and-forward relaying network over Rician Fading Channel is investigated. The power splitting protocol is proposed for the system model. For this purpose, the analytical mathematical expressions of the ergodic capacity in cases of maximize and no-maximize ergodic capacity are derived and discussed. Furthermore, the effect of various system parameters on the system performance is rigorously studied. Finally, the analytical results are also demonstrated by Monte-Carlo simulation in comparison with the analytical expressions. The research results show that the analytical mathematical and simulated results match for all possible parameter values for both schemes.

Abstract

The automobile industry is one of the major industries that are having its new innovations at a great pace according to the requirements of the day-to-day life. Due to the usage of conventional vehicles on a large scale which usually use petroleum products as fuel, is leading to a vast environmental effect, mainly due to the emission of greenhouse gases. So in order to reduce the ill effects of the greenhouse gas emissions great efforts are being put in   manufacturing of electrical vehicles. Among the currently available greenhouse technologies the fuel cell provides high energy density in spite of its expenses. So, in this aspect a required mechanism has to be adopted to make it energy efficient and affordable. In order to overcome the drawback of fuel cell i.e. low output voltage, the boost converters are to be used and to be more precise Non-isolated Interleaved Double Dual Boost (IDDB) converters are recommended which makes it efficient and also the reduction of overall vehicle weight can be achieved. The LQR control technique is applied in this work to make the transient response of the fuel cell powered IDDB converter for various load conditions effective. The verification of results is done with simulation techniques using MATLAB/Simulink.

Abstract

Current rateless codes coding schemes ignored the order recovery of packets. To cope with this problem, average delay and maximum memory consumption were proposed as performance indices to characterize the order recovery performance, then a coding scheme based on two stages coding was proposed to improve the order recovery performance. Encoding of the front k coded symbols is the first stage, which the ith coded symbol is compose of the ith packet and other di-1 packets which are chosen from the front i-1 packets with equal probability. Encoding of the remaining infinite coded symbols is the second stage which the packets are chosen from all packets equal probably. The simulation results show that the rateless codes from the proposed scheme have better order recovery performance, meanwhile have high bandwidth efficiency and good uniformity recovery than LT codes.
