Abstract

This research investigates the impact of corporate income tax, asset turnover, and liquidity on firm performance, as measured by Tobin's Q, in Indonesian non-financial listed companies between 2013 and 2023. Employing panel data analysis, we find that higher corporate income tax rates negatively affect firm performance. While asset turnover and liquidity ratio exhibit less significant impacts, our analysis reveals that liquidity plays a moderating role in the relationship between asset turnover and firm performance. These findings emphasize the significance of effective liquidity management and efficient asset utilization for improving corporate performance and stimulating economic growth in Indonesia.

Abstract

The research investigates the factors that influence investment diversification in conventional banks in Indonesia, with a particular emphasis on liquidity risk, credit risk, profitability, inflation, GDP, bank size, interbank ratios, capitalization, and board governance characteristics. Investment strategies and risk management were examined using data from the Indonesian banking sector and subsequently, the empirical findings based on the application of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) will be presented. The findings indicated that investment concentration is being driven by liquidity risk, while diversification is being discouraged by credit risk. Diversification is positively influenced by profitability, while inflation has a negative impact on it. Diversified strategies are more effectively implemented by institutions that are larger and more adequately capitalized. The direct impact of board diversity on diversification is limited by the broader governance structures. The findings indicate that liquidity risk drives investment concentration, as banks prioritize liquid assets during periods of heightened risk. Similarly, credit risk discourages diversification, pushing banks to focus on safer, familiar investments. Conversely, profitability positively influences diversification, enabling banks to allocate resources toward balanced and diverse portfolios. Inflation negatively affects diversification by increasing investment concentration, while GDP shows no significant impact, contradicting previous studies. Larger and well-capitalized banks are better equipped to pursue diversified strategies, while interbank ratios exhibit no significant influence. Board diversity, though widely regarded as a factor in decision-making, shows limited direct impact on diversification, likely due to broader governance structures. To enhance financial stability, policymakers should concentrate on the following: managing liquidity and credit risks, maintaining stable inflation, strengthening governance, empowering smaller banks, encouraging innovative financial products, and investigating governance-diversification links

Abstract

The phenomenon of prosumerism on social media plays a crucial role in influencing the dynamics of citizens' political participation, particularly in the upcoming 2024 Indonesian elections. However, this phenomenon also presents challenges related to the spread of disinformation and polarization. This study aims to explore how prosumers produce and disseminate political content on social media and its impact on public discourse. It posits that prosumerism, through digital platforms, has transformed political participation into a more interactive process, yet remains susceptible to misuse. The theoretical framework includes prosumerism, echo chambers, and digital literacy. A qualitative methodology is employed, utilizing a literature review of various relevant recent studies. The analysis indicates that while prosumerism enhances political participation, it is often trapped within echo chambers that exacerbate biases and the dissemination of disinformation. The conclusion of this research suggests that although prosumerism can broaden political participation, without effective regulation and improvement of digital literacy, it may deepen social polarization and threaten the integrity of democracy.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of Corporate Social Responsibility, Social Media Marketing (SMM), Store Environment, Sales Promotion, and Perceived Value on purchasing decisions for Apple products.”The path analysis method with the PLS-SEM approach was used on 265 respondents, with data collected through an online questionnaire with a Likert scale of 5. The results show that Corporate Social Responsibility, Social Media Marketing, Store Environment, and Satisfaction significantly affect purchasing decisions. Satisfaction with Trust also has a significant effect. Meanwhile, Perceived Value and Sales Promotion don’t substantially affect Purchase Decisions. The practical implication is that companies must strengthen Corporate Social Responsibility, Social Media Marketing, and shopping experiences and evaluate promotional strategies to influence purchasing decisions more effectively. Companies should strengthen Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, enhance social media marketing strategies, and improve the store environment to impact customer satisfaction and purchasing decisions. Promotional strategy should be carefully evaluated, as Sales Promotion alone does not significantly affect purchase behavior. This research gives insightful ideas for brand managers aiming to enhance marketing strategies, maintain customer engagement, and sustain a competitive advantage

Abstract

Conventional financial report has been criticized for only representing operational-related matters but not including and explaining multiple dimensions of the corporation’s value. The above-mentioned gives rise to the idea of sustainable reporting where it reflects the company’s effort and concern about environment protection and inter-generation equality. The research aims to identify the significant relationship between sustainability reporting represented by the environment, social, and government (ESG); and firm’s performance in Indonesian Firms (Pertamina). The data is taken from Pertamina sustainability reporting and official websites. As a state-owned company, Pertamina should provide more consistent and clear information on its sustainability investments and expenses. It should be reflected in its annual report and sustainability report. The research type that will be used in this study is quantitative research. The research object is one of the Indonesian state-owned companies, namely PT Pertamina Persero. This study analyses The Annual Financial Statement and Sustainability Reporting of PT Pertamina Persero Indonesia in 2013-2020 as the research object. The period has been chosen because PT Pertamina started to use GRI Index (G4) started from the year of 2013. Variable used in this research are Sustainability Report Disclosure Index (SRDI), expenses, and investment contributes to the company’s sustainability effort as independent variables. Dependent variables consist of financial ratios, such as liquidity, profitability, and solvency ratios. Abstract

This study investigates the influence of profitability, liquidity, firm size, tax avoidance, and financial distress on the timeliness of financial report submissions in industrial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2021 to 2023. Utilizing a quantitative approach, the study analyzes secondary data from the annual reports of 42 companies selected through purposive sampling. The dependent variable is the timeliness of financial report submission, while the independent variables include profitability (measured by ROA), liquidity (measured by CR), firm size (calculated as the natural logarithm of total assets), tax avoidance (CETR), and financial distress (DER). Descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression were used to examine the relationships between these variables. The findings indicate that liquidity is the only factor with a significant impact on timeliness, while profitability, firm size, tax avoidance, and financial distress do not show a significant effect. These results suggest that efficient liquidity management is critical for ensuring timely report submissions, which can enhance financial transparency and market efficiency. This research contributes to the financial reporting literature by emphasizing liquidity's role in reporting practices, offering practical implications for companies and regulators to prioritize liquidity management. The study also acknowledges its limitations, including its narrow focus on industrial companies and a short study period, and recommends further research to explore a broader range of sectors, longer timeframes, and additional influencing factors.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of capital structure, sales growth, working capital turnover, and liquidity on profitability, with firm size as a moderating variable. Using financial data from food and beverage companies listed on the IDX (2019–2023), profitability is measured by ROA, while independent variables include DER, sales growth, working capital turnover, and CR. Firm size is represented by the natural logarithm of total assets. Data analysis through SPSS applies multiple and moderation regression. Results indicate that capital structure and sales growth do not significantly influence profitability, while working capital turnover does. Firm size moderates the effects of capital structure and sales growth on profitability but does not moderate the impacts of working capital turnover or liquidity. The study's limitations include the use of limited financial ratios, reliance on reports in Rupiah, and a narrow industry focus. Future research may expand by incorporating additional financial metrics, utilizing foreign currencies, and covering a wider sample from diverse sectors to better capture broader economic trends.
