Abstract

Throughput is the ability of a company's production unit to process raw materials into final products that have value, in accordance with established standards. Palm Oil Mill (PKS) is a processing company for raw materials in the harvest of palm oil in the form of Fresh Fruit Bunches processed into Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) products and their by-products in the form of solid waste (empty bunches, fiber, shells) and liquid. PKS production can be achieved throughput produced by looking at the production process that occurs in each work unit, namely: the value of the capacity of the stew is done, sequencing time, steam boiler requirements, Material Balance. The capacity owned by PKS XYZ is 60 tons/hour, does not meet the targeted throughput, where the sterilizer capacity is only able to reach 45 tons/hour, sequencing time is 45 minutes, the steam boiler produced is not sufficient to produce 60 tons of PKS/hour, and the existing Material Balance is not met, which are 38 tons/hour.

Abstract

Bearing is a mechanical element that resembles a loaded shaft, so that rotation or back and forth motion can be smooth, safe and long lasting. Bearings should be sturdy and durable to allow the shaft and other machine elements to work properly. If the bearing is not working properly then the performance of the whole system will decline or not work properly. For this reason, materials from high-carbon steel bearings should be durable and durable. To obtain the desired properties of the metal, the Heat Treatment process, especially the outer and inner ring, is used. Hardness testing of the outer and inner ring of the bearing is performed after the Heat Treatment process. Testing the violence using the Digital Rockwell Hardness Tester, the value of the violence can be read directly on the scale of the tool. The Heat Treatment process of the outer and inner ring of the bearing can produce the mechanical properties that the manufacturer wants, namely Rockwell hardness 62-64 HRC. If the result of the hardness test is in accordance with the factory standard, then the outer and inner ring meet the manufacturer's quality requirements.

Abstract

Some of the damage that occurs in the structure and construction of engine elements that experience dynamic loading at the time of operation is caused by fatigue (fatigue), which occurs without beginning signs so that it causes great damage and loss. Fatigue strength is the process of local changes in the structure that occur permanently in accordance with the period of time caused by conditions where stress or strain occurs which results in cracks or fractures after being subjected to repetitive loads. Surface roughness factors that affect fatigue are applied in the analysis and application of machining, which are finely grinded and rough machined. Analysis was carried out on 6063-TF aluminum alloy material which is widely used for motor vehicles. To find out the effect of the above, the fatigue strength test is carried out with a Rotary Bending Fatique Test to obtain a cycle value or fatigue age and certain neighbors so that it can make a semi-log S-N diagram with statistical calculations.
