Abstract

Smart Mirror for Home Automation This research describes the design, construction and working of the smart mirror. Every morning our day begins by watching ourselves at least once in mirror before leaving our homes. We interact with it psychologically to find out how we look and how our attire is. Smart Mirror or Magic Mirror is one of the applications of Raspberry Pi. A computer screen embedded in mirror looks very futuristic. The Raspberry Pi stays at back scenes and controls the data displayed on mirror. While looking at mirror, the user can look at various notifications from social sites as well news, weather forecast and more things. Such mirrors can be programmed to work as control home appliances by voice input. The Raspberry Pi is connected to monitor via HDMI as well as it also has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth interfaces so we can just swipe music and videos to mirror.

Abstract

The weather station helps in planning socioeconomic activities such as agriculture, tourism, transportation, marine activities and plantations. The station needs an energy source, an electric energy source to operate, and is needed to get continuous assistance. This study aims to build a system for using two sources of electrical energy to support electricity stations that can be monitored and control remotely and provide information on the use of electrical energy in miniature weather stations into a web server. This research produces a remote monitoring and control system that can automatically switch primary energy sources to backup energy sources. When taking the main current source goes out, the system is able to carry the energy source back to the main source back to the main source alive again. The system can make changes manually using a web server that can be controlled remotely. When the battery reaches a voltage above 14.40 volts, the charging process stops and the system uses electrical energy from the battery. When the battery voltage reads 11.89 volts, do the battery charging process again. Electrical energy system information on miniature stations can display information about voltage, current, power, temperature and intensity of sunlight in the form of graphical visualization in real time.

Abstract

Students have many activity in their daily life. There are many things to do like going to class, meeting for group assignment, shopping for food and so on. If the student is unwell then need to go to the clinic for treatment and leaving letter. So in order to reduce the risk of receiving illness, researchers propose Displaying Health Status Based on the Internet of Things Concept. This tool will help students by knowing the pulse rates is normal or not. Displaying Health Status Based on the Internet of Things is designed to facilitate students to see their pulse rate. This tool will also help students to develop their potential and facilitate the health of students themselves by knowing their pulse rate at the proper level. Students will always keep their health healthy for everyday life. Additionally, this tool can alert students that health is essential for life. The results of this research show that this tool can be used when exercising to determine the pulse rate is normal or not.

Abstract

This study develops a Smart Delivery Agent that made by using the Arduino. The smart car can be used to help worker in warehouse, especially on the busy season. By using the smart car, the unloading and movement of the item in postal warehouse or the company can be more organize and faster. The purpose of the project is to modernize Pos Laju work with more organize, fast and to achieve the same level with the other courier service on other countries. The limit of range to control the smart car using smartphone Bluetooth is for 10 metres. The user is able to use the auto mode and set up mode to let the smart car work without the users have to go to in the range to control the smart car. However, the smart car can only carry certain items on top of the car as long as the item is not over 400 grams. The design of the smart car can be redesign so that it can carry big item/parcel without any problem.

Abstract

The Water Level Indicator is beneficial to the public, especially to residents living in rivers. This technology can provide early warnings to residents when the water level is occupying a dangerous level and facilitates workers who control the dam of the river. This technology can alert early through sirens and notifications / messages via smartphones as well as to the river dashboard controllers capable of controlling water gates through their smartphones. The worker who controls the dam of this river no longer needs to go back to the dam's door control house to open the water dam door. Workers who are in charge of controlling dam need to stand in one place only to open their smartphones and control the dam's doorway using the fingertips. To the people living in the river, they do not have to worry about the floods that will happen in their area. They will get an early warning about the flood at any time even when they are sleeping. They will get the warning via notification on their smartphone and siren is places in a certain area to produce a loud noise so that residents can be prepared to face the disaster. It is expect that the Water Level Indicator is able to take a step further and can be use as best as possible and can help the local community.

Abstract

The generation of power from the reduction of fossil fuels is the biggest challenge for the next half century. The idea of converting solar energy into electrical energy using photovoltaic panels holds its place in the front row compared to other renewable sources. But the continuous change in the relative angle of the sun with reference to the earth reduces the watts delivered by solar panel. Conventional solar panel, fixed with a certain angle, limits their area of exposure from the sun due to rotation of the earth. Output of the solar cells depends on the intensity of the sun and the angle of incidence. To solve this problem, an automatic solar cell is needed, where the Solar Tracker will track the motion of the sun across the sky to ensure that the maximum amount of sunlight strikes the panels throughout the day. By using Light Dependent Resistors, it will navigate the solar panel to get the best angle of exposure of light from the sun.

Abstract

In recent times, everything around us is automated. People are looking to make things easier and easier day by day, by reducing the work they do, but not reduce the efficiency of work. The most important thing in this technically forward world, is, what we mentioned above i.e. Automation and Security. Travel needs a lot of automation in this day and age, especially Airports. The idea of a bag can check-in by itself, and tell us where it is and deprive us of the worry of continuously checking or thinking if the luggage is okay, is just a dream for most people.

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects, computers, cars, houses, and other things embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity, allowing these objects to collect and exchange data. In the new technology market, IoT innovations is the next major step, but with the big difference that it brings about massive changes in business usability. A flare in the number of connected devices as well as placed locations is anticipated over the next few years and the functions that they will perform. Due to recent developments in networking and sensor technology, the Internet of Things (IoT) has grown rapidly. It seems very difficult to link that object together through the internet, but within a time frame, the internet of things will change our lives dramatically.

Abstract

Keeping lovebirds at home becomes one of hobbies that is fascinating to some people. Keeping them as pets means educate us to be regular people, particularly related to the process of food provision. Innovation on feeding bird is required such as automatic feeding which can be controlled from far areas. It will be very beneficial when the lovebird keepers are not at home. Therefore, this study develops at designing an automatic system for feeding birds completed with remote control. For this reason, the researcher used ESP8266 connected to NODEMCU as the hardware and BLYNK server as the control bridge of internet. The data would then be transmitted from smartphone to esp8266 system to control the feeding process. In the context of feeding process, the researcher used RTC-clock owned by BLYNK server to substitute RTC as the hardware. Automation system of food provision was carried out by synchronizing the data of hours from the users. The research data were used to design feeder bucket which could give food around 7.2-52.8 grams and feeder bucket for accommodating food about 6.2-48.3 grams. The results of control and connection via BLYNK server demonstrated that 90% data were connected. In terms of data accuracy, this automatic feeder could be accurately 100% successful in a certain time.

Abstract

This research presents the design and development of a chicken egg incubator. The aim is to design and construct an “Intelligent Egg Incubator” that can hatch chicken eggs automatically. In the design, author used a temperature control system that controls the temperature of the incubator. This system consists of a temperature sensor, heating and cooling elements and a controller. If the temperature of the incubator exceeds a certain value, the cooling unit will operate to reduce the temperature while if the temperature goes below another threshold value, the heating element will start to operate to increase the temperature. Furthermore, author used a motion sensor to detect the movements of the eggs. If there is a movement inside the incubator, the owner of the incubator will get the notification about the conditions of the eggs
