Abstract

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) involve top potential technologies that will dramatically change the way of human living and working. Many scientific, industrial and environmental applications require real time information related to physical events like pressure, temperature or humidity. In the past the only way to transfer the sensed data to control center was through cumbersome and costly wires. But recent advancement in wireless networking enables WSNs to communicate the sensed real time event data wirelessly. WSNs have capabilities of sensing, processing and communicating which make them most suitable for monitoring different on and gas industries upstream, midstream and downstream operations which help to increase production, decrease the accidents, maintenance cost and malfunctioning.

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the effect of the use of educational videos in online learning which can attract students and help students understand the topic of learning more effectively. A quantitative design with a survey method was used in this study. The respondents of the study consisted of 43 teachers of Basic Computer Science subjects in the state of Perak who were selected by random sampling. A questionnaire form instrument was used to collect data based on a five-point Likert Scale. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis where the mean amount was determined based on a predetermined level. The results show that the use of educational videos can help students understand the topics of learning effectively with an average mean value = of 4.40. In addition, educational videos also help attract students to learning topics with an average mean value = of 4.30. The implications of this study indicate that the use of educational videos in online learning is proven to have a positive impact on students.

Abstract

Many people have a poor level of emergency preparedness, especially in their home environment. A previous study has stated that only a small percentage of people were well prepared in case of an emergency happening in their home while others are either do not know what to do or do not even think about it. This ignorance can lead to a harmful accident. For example, if an emergency such as a kitchen fire happens and is poorly handled by the people in the house it can lead to bigger accidents such as fire outbreaks. Thus, this study aims to identify the requirement, design, and develop a mobile application that can help users learn about household emergencies and increase their preparedness level for emergencies. Compared to other mobile applications for an emergency, Safe House App provides multimedia elements such as videos, and quiz activity which can attract users to use the application more to learn about the household emergency. The methodology implemented for this study is the Agile Model. Functionality Evaluation is conducted on 10 respondents aged 18 and above and most of the respondents are satisfied with the overall performance of Safe House App and agree that Safe House App can help the user increase their emergency preparedness level and attract them to learn about the household emergency.

Abstract

One of the uses of robotics technology that is developing is in the field of warehousing, with robots transferring vehicle goods used in the industrial world, especially in the warehousing section. The item transfer robot has 2 navigations, namely on the wheeled part, namely the robot can maneuver in all directions without the need to rotate the body of the robot (holonomic robot). Then one of the robots that is used quite often in the industrial world is the arm manipulator. Robots that have a physical shape like a human arm and a degree of freedom (Degree of Freedom). The transfer robot system is controlled remotely using an IoT-based smartphone using the ESP32 Wemos D1 R32 module as the robot's driving brain and ESP32-Cam as the robot's drilling visual. Several robot tests are carried out to ensure that the designed robot can run properly. From the results of functional testing, parts of the robot can run well. The robot can walk through commands from a smartphone, the gripper on the arm manipulator can grasp objects and the ESP32-Cam can display images to the smartphone.

Abstract

Nowadays, we often see more and more of the various types of lights in urban areas, especially in road areas, either regarding the use of traffic lights or streetlights that serve as guides and signals to maintain road safety. Typically, the lamps use LED-based lamps as they can increase the rate of high savings. This LED conceptual light helps reduce energy wastage by using less power and reducing the consumption of heat and is suitable for day-to-day operation. The addition of ordinary LEDs to self-dimming systems based on the intensity of light around is more likely to increase the savings rate and is more environment-friendly. The scope of this research includes analytics data from the use of standard traffic lights and LED signal lights that are self-concept in dimmer systems. This research uses the IoT concept that is applied to the traffic system and uses solar energy which is indeed renewable natural energy and can affect the green earth concept to the traffic control system on the road.
