Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran mind mapping berbantuan dengan penggunaan media powtoon terhadap keterampilan menulis teks berita siswa kelas X Agama 1 dan X Agama 2 tahun pelajaran 2022-2023. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penggunaan media powtoon terhadap keterampilan menulis teks berita siswa kelas X Agama 1 dan X Agama 2 tahun pelajaran 2022-2023. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Aspek yang dinilai dalam penulisan teks ulasan yaitu isi gagasan, struktur teks berita, kalimat efektif, unsur kebahasaan, dan ejaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media powtoon terhadap keterampilan menulis teks berita siswa kelas X Agama 1 dan X Agama 2 yakni sangat baik. Terbukti siswa-siswi memperoleh nilai rata-rata 86,1. Hal ini memberi dampak positif dan memberi kemudahan untuk siswa dalam menulis teks berita. Hasil belajar keterampilan menulis teks berita menggunakan métode ceramah memperoleh nilai rata-rata 72,3. Perolehan nilai rata-rata tersebut menandakan bahwa kelompok siswa yang diajar menggunakan metode ceramah memiliki kategori hasil belajar B (baik). Hasil belajar keterampilan menulis teks berita menggunakan media powtoon memperoleh nilai rata-rata 83,7. Perolehan nilai rata-rata tersebut menandakan bahwa kelompok siswa yang diajar menggunakan media powtoon memiliki kategori hasil belajar A (baik sekali). Media powtoon memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan menulis teks berita siswa kelas X Agama 1 dan X Agama 2 MAS Al-Washliyah Bangun Purba. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan perhitungan menggunakan uji “t”, di mana t hasil perhitungan dibandingkan dengan ttabel dan diperoleh thitung > ttabel atau 4,37 > 1,677, sehingga hipotesis alternatif (Ha) pada penelitian ini terbukti kebenarannya dan diterima.

Abstract

The title of this Independent Research is An Analysis of The Total Physical Response Method Learning. In this method we will consider a new general approach to foreign language instruction which has been named “ the comprehension approach.” It is called this because of the importance it gives to listening comprehension. All the other methods we have looked at have students speaking in the target language from the first day. Method consistent with the comprehension approach, on the other hand, begin with the listening skill. The idea of focusing on listening comprehension during early foreign language instruction comes from observing how children acquire their mother tongue. The method has been developed from developmental psychology, learning theory and language learning procedures. The Total Physical Response Method Learning is based on the premise that the human brain has a biological program for acquiring any language. The teacher does not correct any student errors during oral communication. In the Total Physical Response Method, students listen and respond to the spoken target language commands of their teacher.

Abstract

This article explains the strategy in translating contract documents from English into Indonesian. The sample of this study were six corpuses of contract documents that contain technical terms in the economic field (accounting, management and finance). Translation strategies were used to solve difficulties in understanding the contents of the text of contract documents caused by cultural and linguistic) differences between the writer and the reader of the text which results in views on the concept of words and sentences intended by the writer. The methods commonly used by translators are direct translation which consists of literal, borrowing and calque, and indirect translation which includes transposition, modulation, equivalence and adaptation. Meaning field analysis is carried out to obtain the meaning of terms or vocabulary contained in the source language and target language. The results of the analysis show the complexity of understanding the procedures and translation methods used, namely borrowing, calque, literal, transposition, modulation, equivalence, adjustment, shift of unit structure and class, intrasystem and also the system of absorbing foreign terms. In terms of shifts in meaning, there are two types of shifts identified, namely (1) unit shifts and (2) category shifts. These two types of shifts often occur because syntactically English as the source language (SL) is differ from Indonesian as the target language (TL).

Abstract

Abstrak Analisis afiksasi pada naskah drama RT Nol RW Nol karya Iwan Simatupang menggunakan teori Ramlan, bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis afiksasi yang terdapat di dalam naskah drama RT Nol RW Nol karya Iwan Simatupang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan memakai metode catat yaitu mencatat bentuk afiksasinya. Hasil penelitian ini terdapat 137 prefiks, 1 infiks, 14 sufiks, dan 27 simulfiks. Prefiks [beR-] berjumlah 29 mempunyai dua makna yaitu menyatakan makna ‘suatu perbuatan yang tidak statif dan menyatakan makna ‘dalam statif’, prefiks [meN-] berjumlah 53 mempunyai makna pembentuk verba dan adjektiva, prefiks [di-] berjumlah 9 mempunyai makna bentuk kata kerja pasif, prefiks [ter-] berjumlah 26 mempunyai makna membentuk kata kerja pasif dan kata sifat, prefiks [peN-] berjumlah 1 memiliki makna agentif, prefiks [se-] berjumlah 9 mempunyai makna ‘satu, seluruh, dan setelah’. Infiks [-em-] berjumlah 1 pada kata gemuruh mempunyai makna suara besar yang menderu-deru. Sufiks [-an] berjumlah 14 mempunyai makna menyatakan sesuatu yang berhubungan dengan perbuatan pada bentuk dasar. Simulfiks [ke-an] berjumlah 22 mempunyai makna menyatakan ‘dapat di’, menyatakan suatu hal, simulfiks [se-nya] berjumlah 2 mempunyai makna yaitu membentuk adverbia dari adjektiva dan simulfiks [ber-an] berjumlah 2 mempunyai makna pembentuk verba. Kata Kunci: prefiks, infiks, sufiks, simulfiks, naskah drama ABSTRACT Analysis of affixation in the drama script RT Nol RW Nol by Iwan Simatupang using Ramlan theory, aims to determine the types of affixation contained in the drama script RT Nol RW Nol by Iwan Simatupang. The research method used is a qualitative approach and uses a note-taking method, namely recording the form of affixation. The results of this research contained 137 prefixes, 1 infix, 14 suffixes, and 27 simulfixes. The prefix [beR-] numbering 29 has two meanings, namely stating the meaning of 'an action that is not stative' and stating the meaning 'in stative', the prefix [meN-] numbering 53 has the meaning of forming verbs and adjectives, the prefix [di-] numbering 9 has the meaning passive verb form, the prefix [ter-] numbering 26 has the meaning of forming passive verbs and adjectives, the prefix [peN-] numbering 1 has an agentive meaning, the prefix [se-] numbering 9 has the meaning 'one, all, and after' . The infix [-em-] totaling 1 in the word thunder has the meaning of a large, roaring sound. The 14 suffix [-an] has the meaning of stating something related to the action in the basic form. The simulfix [ke-an] numbering 22 has the meaning of saying 'can be', stating something, the simulfix [se-nya] numbering 2 has the meaning of forming an adverb from an adjective and the simulfix [ber-an] numbering 2 has the meaning of forming a verb. Abstract

Collaborative writing is an emerging approach in teaching writing. This paper is aimed at using bibliometric analysis tools to examine works on collaborative writing in EFL context. The reviewed papers were Scopus database published between 2007 and 2023. The bibliometric analysis identified the following information: 1. Bibliometric analysis of publications on collaborative writing in EFL Context, 2) The citation analysis, and 3) the demographic analysis. The results showed that there were 86 publications for the search of “collaborative writing in EFL Context”. The most frequently used sources were Asia-Pacific Education Researcher, Asian EFL Journal, Computer Assisted Language Learning, Education and Information Technologies, and System. The annual production of the journals of collaborative writing in EFL context increases in the last four years. From only 10 publications in 2019, it becomes more than 20 in 2022. The top 5 authors are De Vleeschauwer J., Fathi J., McDonough K., Rahimi M., and Roy D.. The most relevant keywords can be categorized into affordance, collaborative problem-solving, group-oriented, gamification, computer-supported, etc. The international partnership involved authors from Asia, Europe, America, and Australia. The top university with publications of collaborative writing in EFL context were Islamic Azad University with four publications.

Abstract

Focus of this research is to analyze Modality in interpersonal meaning of Systemic Functional Language. This research objective is to find out how Modality is used in Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie’s speech. Modality is analyzed in BJ Habibie’s speech by using qualitative method. Various types of Modality is used in his speech including Modalization and Modulation explicitly and implicitly. The two types of Modalization are used in his speech namely Probability and Usuality. The two types of Modulation are also expressed in his speech namely Obligation and Inclination. The degree used is also varied from high, middle and low degree. Another type of Modality used is Appearance in high and low degree.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problems some students face in pronouncing the word silent letter. The problem that generally occurs is difficulty pronouncing words that contain silent letters. At the same time, the Pronunciation of silent letters is essential to know and distinguish words that are almost similar or almost the same in Pronunciation so that people who listen to them can easily understand them. This pronunciation method is expected to be a solution for students to overcome difficulties pronouncing words containing silent letters. This study aimed to measure their ability to pronounce words that contain silent letters in the English Tadris study program at IAIN Palangka Raya. This study uses a quantitative research method with an experimental design. In giving treatment, the researcher included vocabulary containing silent letters to make it easier for them to understand in the future. The population in this study were students of class 2019, and only 1 class was taken at the English language education study program at IAIN Palangka Raya. Researchers used one class as a sample, and this class was an experimental class consisting of 30 students. From the tests, several people had difficulty pronouncing silent letters, influenced by their mother tongue (L1). However, their ability level is still high in understanding razor letters; only a few cannot.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur pengaruh keterampilan menyimpulkan isi berita dengan menggunakan media audio visual siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian eksperimen. Data diperoleh dari hasil pre-test dan post-test. Pengumpulan data dilakukan tes berupa menyimpulkan isi berita pada siswa kelas VIII, data selanjutnya dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan bantuan program SPSS versi 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai rata-rata pre-test dan post-test di kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari pada peningkatan rata-rata pre-test dan post-test di kelas kontrol. Nilai rata-rata pre-test dikelas eksperimen sebesar 52 dan nilai rata-rata post-test sebesar 74. Pada kelas kontrol rata-rata nilai pre-test nya sebesar 46 dan nilai post-test nya sebesar 65. Nilai rata-rata post-test dikelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol (74 > 65). Setelah melakukan pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji t-test, diketahui bahwa nilai sig (2-tailed) hasil dari post-test sebesar 0,000 lebih kecil dibandingkan taraf signifikansi sebesar 0,05 sehingga (Ho) ditolak dan (Ha) diterima. Artinya terdapat pengaruh keterampilan menyimpulkan isi berita dengan menggunakan media audio siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Jambi.

Abstract

The research aims to describe the form of student speech acts, especially students' questioning speech acts in contextual listening activities. Contextual listening is related to listening activities and what is happening in everyday life. This research method uses the pattern used is grounded research pattern, that is, researchers are prioritized to be able to develop knowledge and several theories after knowing the problems and field data. In this case, the researcher enters a social situation by collecting data, in this way the researcher takes the data source using a purposive sampling technique, namely a technique for taking data sources with certain considerations, in the case that the researcher takes into consideration 2 English literature students. The results of the research are that it is known that students will have their patterns in the speech act of asking questions. It is known that student A uses questions more often by using speech acts in the form of directives 9 times followed by 1 time commissive, 1 time expressive, or 1 time representative, by focusing on the student appointed to answer the question, while Student 2 uses more commissive speech acts 4 times and uses representative 2 times, this shows that many of the questions given by the teacher are more challenging for students to answer and not burdensome for one student, but for students who are ready to answer questions. Thus, it can be concluded that contextual listening activities allow students to carry out speaking activities through active speech. In this case, it is also emphasized that when students listen well, it will give them the ability to ask questions to understand the material being taught.

Abstract

Bahasa adalah cara orang berkomunikasi dan terhubung dalam kehidupan sehari- hari dan di berbagai bidang seperti sekolah, pekerjaan, perjalanan, dan agama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membantu siswa meningkatkan keterampilan menulis cerita pendek mereka dengan menggunakan Project Based Learning. Penelitian berlangsung selama dua periode, dari 15 Januari 2023 hingga 30 Januari 2023. Penelitian ini mencakup hasil tes dan pengamatan lainnya dari kedua periode tersebut. Hasil tes dari Siklus I dan II adalah skor tes deskriptif, sedangkan hasil non-tes adalah data observasi tentang aktivitas siswa, kinerja guru, refleksi, dan revisi. Penelitian dan pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode Project Based Learning membantu siswa terlibat dalam pemecahan masalah melalui kegiatan proyek di kelas, yang meningkatkan keterampilan menulis cerita pendek mereka. Studi ini juga menunjukkan bahwa siswa memperoleh skor rata-rata 60 pada bagian pertama. Skor rata-rata meningkat menjadi 82,10 pada bagian kedua. Sebagai kesimpulan, Project Based Learning membantu siswa berpartisipasi dalam pemecahan masalah selama kegiatan proyek di kelas, sehingga penelitian ini berhasil.
