Abstract

Side grafting technology, side grafting is a cocoa plant improvement technique that is done by inserting the stem of superior clones. This study aims to determine the effect of Janis entries on the side grafting growth of cocoa plants and the types of good entries in the growth of side grafting cacao plant.The plan used in this study was a randomized block design (RBD) with treatments used were local clone actress (E1), superior clone actress ICCRI 03 (E2), superior clone actress ICCRI 04 (E3), Sulawesi superior clone 01 (E4) ), Superior actress of Sulawesi Clone 02 (E5). The observational variables in this study were the percentage of survival, total plant leaves, plant area. The results of the study aimed that the treatment of superior clone entries had an effect on the observed variables of survival rates, total number of leaves of plants, leaf area. The type of entris that gives the best effect on the side grafting growth of cacao plant seeds is the superior Sulawesi clone actress 02.

Abstract

Sitophilus zeamays (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) is one of the pests that damage the corn kernels in storage so that it is damaged into corn powder. Control efforts that can be done is to use plant-based insecticides from Theprosia vogelii plants that contain rotenoid compounds so that they can cause pest mortality. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Theprosia vogelli leaves in controlling Sitophilus zeamays in storage. The study was conducted at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Flores. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments namely T0 = 0 gram (control), T1 (4 gram T. vogelii leaf powder), T2 (8 gram T. vogelii leaf powder), T3 (12 grams T. vogelii leaf powder) and T4 (16 grams of T. vogelii leaf powder). The observation variable was the mortality of the Sitophilus zeamays pest. The results showed that a dose of 16 grams of T. vogelii leaf powder caused a mortality of S. zeamays of 96.67%.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of cow manure dosage on the growth and yields of peanut plan and also on the physical and chemical characteristic of soil, as well as the optimum dosage of Bokasih fertilizer. This study uses block random design including 5 treatments and 4 repetitions. The treatment in this study is PK1 0 ton ha-1, PK2 10 ton ha-1, PK3 20 ton ha-1, PK4 30 ton ha-1, and PK5 40 ton ha-1. Meanwhile, the results of laboratory data analysis for the physical and chemical characteristic of soil are presented in tables and diagrams and are further described. The study indicates that the distribution of cow manure provides real impact on plant height, a number of leaves, leaf size at the age of 45 days after planting, that is to say, 45.29, 47.78, 48.11, 50.06, 50.81, and the age of 60 days after planting, that is to say, 65.30, 66.38, 67.60, 68.93, 70.46. There was also unreal impact on plant height, number of leaves, leaf size at the age of 15 and 30 days after planting, number of pod tan-1, number of containing pod tan-1, the weight of pod tan-1, and weight of fresh berangkasan tan-1. The distribution of cow manure has the impact of physical and chemical characteristic improvement on peanut plants. The optimum dose of cow manure that can enhance growth and yield of peanut plants has not been revealed in this research, whereas the optimum dose of the physical and chemical characteristics of soil is 40 ton ha-1.

Abstract

This study aims at finding out the Petragonik fertilizer’s dose on the growth and yield of red chilli and finding out the optimum dose of Petragonik fertilizer that can optimize the growth and yield of red chilli. This study employed group random design with the treatment of Petragonik fertilizer (P0) or control, (P1) 150 kg/ha-1or (75g petak1), (P2) 300 kg/ha-1or 150 g petak1), (P3) 450kg/ha-1or (225 g petak1 , (P4) 600 kg/ha-1or ( 300 g petak-1). The findings reveal that 450 kg/ha of fertilizer dose has a very significant influence on the height of plants (49,91cm) or increasing to (6,9%), a number of leaves (25 sheets) or rising to (10,07%), and wide of leaves (315 cm²) or a rise of (7,9%) and the yields of tan-1 (28,33 fruits), the diameter of chilli (3,50mm), the weight of fresh chilli ha-1 (416,83) and harvest index of (12,89%).

Abstract

The study of the quality profile of plantation excellent commodity in Ende Regency (hazelnut commodity) is to provide information about the degree composition of water and fat on hazelnut commodity in Ende Regency. Hazelnut commodity profile benefits for the provision of trade opportunity information and the investment of hazelnut cultivation to both foreign and domestic investors, as well as business persons, in order to boost the investment growth in Ende Regency. This study was conducted in the Agriculture Technology Laboratory of the Udayana University of Denpasar. The presentation of hazelnut commodity profile in Ende Regency of East Nusa Tenggara Province apparently reveals that this region has great potential to be further developed viewed from the quality content aspect.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out the effectiveness and concentration of Pulai stem extract (Alstoniascolaris) upon the pest of Plutellaxylostella. This study was conducted in the Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty of Flores University in Ende. A completely random design was employed with five treatments, namely J0 (aquades), J1 (75 ml of Pulai stem extract concentration), J2 (100ml of Pulai stem extract concentration), J3 (125ml of Pulai stem extract concentration), J4 (150ml of Pulai stem extract concentration).The result of study reveals that extract of PulaiAlstoniascolaris stem was influential to the development of Plutellaxylostella pest in contact poison of J0 7,50%, J1 60,00%, J2 67,50%, J3 67,50% and J4 80,00%, while for repellant activity of J0 80,00%, J1 57,50%, J2 22,50%, J3 15,00%, and J4 15,00%, for belly poison of J0 00,00%, J1 57,50%, J2 72,50%, J3 75,00% and J4 80,00%. Extract of Pulai stem is the right plant which is effective to highest mortality of Plutellaxylostellapest, belly poison on80,00% of J4 treatment, repellant activity on 15% of J4 treatment, and contact poison on 70% of J4 treatment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of NPK Mutiara fertilizer dose on the growth and yield of green beans and determine the optimum dosage of NPK Mutiara fertilizer that can deliver growth and yield optimal green beans. The design used in this study is a randomized block design with treatments used were N0 (without fertilizer NPK NPK 0 kg ha-1 or 0 g plot-1), N1 (NPK fertilizer 125 kg ha-1 or 25 g plot-1), N2 (NPK fertilizer 250 kg ha-1 or 50 g plot-1), N3 (NPK fertilizer 375 kg ha-1 or 75 g), N4 (NPK 500 kg ha-1 or 100 g plot-1). Variable observation in this study was plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of pods tan-1 fresh weight stover tan-1, the dry weight of stover tan-1, the dry weight of stover ha-1 dry weight of seed tan-1, heavy ha-1 dry beans, dry weight of 100 seeds. The results showed that treatment of NPK fertilizer dose of 500 kg ha-1 very significant effect on plant height of 27.75 cm, leaf number 8 strands, leaf area 357.78 cm2, Total pods 19.65, fresh weight stover tan-1 96, 25 g, dry weight of stover tan-1 76.00 g, stover dry weight ha-1 19.00 tons, dry weight of seed tan-1 5.36-gram dry weight seed ha-1 1.34 tonnes, the weight of 100 seeds 2.62 gr.

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the impact of casting fertilizer dose and Host plant on the growth of Cendana Seed. The test design used was complete block random design with two factors of treatment that arranged in factorial. Both of the treatments are kascing fertilizer dose (0 g, 4 g, 8 g and 12 g-1) and Host Plant (without Host Plant, Suruhan, Krokot, and Kembang Siang).The pot used was Polybag (20 cm x 14 cm x 0,5 mm). All treatments were repeated three times and 240 pots were used. The result of the study shows that interaction between Kuscing fertilizer dose and kind of Host plant did not have a real impact on the growth of Cendana seed, instead of having a real impact on the ratio of root fertilizer, seed fresh weight, dry weight of oven seed, reserves of N, P, and K of plant, N total of land, C land organic, C/N ratio of land, the available P, the available and degree of land water. The highest of seed fresh weight was 4,0630 g in dose treatment 0 g Kascing fertilizer with Krokot Host plant and the highest of the oven-dry weight of seed was 1,8023 g in dose treatment of 4 grams Kuscing fertilizer with KrokotInang plant. The impact of Kuscing fertilizer apparently did not have real influence on all variables of Cendana seed growth. It may influence the variables of Cendana seed growth ageing around 30, 45, 60, 75, 90,105 and 120 days after weaning, except the diameter of seeds ageing 30 days after weaning had no real differences.

Abstract

Both organic and inorganic fertilization determines the growth of the cocoa seed. The correct dose of cow manure and ZA (as a source of N) can improve the growth of the cocoa seed. This pot test was conducted in farmer land in Banjar of Selanbawak Kaja Agriculture Department, Selanbawak Village, Marga Sub district, Tabanan Regency, ± 250 m dpl, starting from February 2010 until May 2010. The goal of this test is to investigate the impact of cow manure and ZA dose on the growth of the cocoa seed. A complete random block design was implemented in this test with two treatment factors, namely cow manure dose (0, 300, 600, and 900 g seed-1) and ZA dose (0,0; 1,0; 2,0; and 3,0 g seed-1). All treatments were repeated three times. The result of the test shows that interaction between cow manure and ZA doshas real impact on the growth of the cocoa seed. The dose of 900 g cow manure seed-1with 2,0 g dose of ZA seed-1contributes the highest weight of fresh seed (each of 9,79 and 3,12 g seed-1) and oven-dry weight (each of 12,69 and 4,47 seed-1) both at the age of 75 and 90 hsbd. 3,0 dose of ZA seed-1 in the similar cow manure dose (900 g seed-1) did not provide any real differences to fresh seed and dry oven weight of seed. 900 g dose of cow manure seed-1 with 2,0 g dose of ZA seed-1also provides the highest and the widest numbers of leaves at the second ages, and the highest of stem diameter at the age of 90 hsbd. The optimum dose of cow manure and ZA was not gained yet in this test. There was a linear relationship between cow manure dose and ZA dose with fresh seed weight and dry oven weighting 90 hsbd. The dose of 900 g cow manure seed-1and 2,0 g ZA seed-1can be used to obtain the best cocoa seed growth until the age of 90 hsbd. Further study is required by using the dose combination of both fertilizer to investigate the growth of seed after the age of 90 hsbd.

Abstract

This study aims at finding out the PGPR dose on the growth of cocoa seed and investigating the optimum dose of PGPR that can grow cocoa seed. A random block design was employed in this study with the treatment of 7,5 ml PGPR seed-1 (PG 1), and PGPR 15 ml PGPR seed-1 (PG 2), the PGPR dose of 30 ml PGPR seed-1 (PG 3), and PGPR 45 ml PGPR seed-1 (PG 4). The result of this research indicates that the treatment of PGPR dose has an apparent influence on the growth of the cocoa seed. The better cocoa seed growth is that the plant height improves to 5,26%, leaves a total number of 5,64%, leaves width of 8,36%, the diameter of stem increases to 12,00% mm, the weight of wet fresh stover plant-1 rises to7,69% and dry weight of stover plant-1increases to 10,71%. The optimum dose of PGPR for cocoa seeding is 45 ml PGPR seed-1.
