Abstract

Reform in Indonesia opened a space of freedom and openness. In an atmosphere of openness began to look advocates enforcement of Islamic law. The enforcement of Islamic law that, among other figures of Islamic movements such as DI / TII NII, which is a very radical return to Indonesia from exile. To enforce Islamic law, they began a radical movements and fundamentalism in the country, without any meaningful control of state institutions and laws. While on the other hand, emerging global developments in the situation which led religious groups do a movement supporting religious issues. This situation cause collisions culture in Indonesia. Abstract

The article reveals the linguistic aspects in Umbu Landu Paranggi’s rhymes. With structural approach and stylistic method, the analysis of linguistic aspects included phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. The results of the analysis of Umbu’s rhymes showed the tendency of strong dynamics, in terms of form, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. Umbu truly utilized the wealth and possibilities the language has to build up poetic e?ects in his rhymes. Semantically, Umbu’s rhymes implied the messages about ‘the world within the self’. With the choices of themes, idioms and language styles that prioritized silence, love and longing, Umbu conveyed the message about the importance of holding dialog with the self in interpreting all life dynamics. Abstract

Prehistoric man made cave as a favorite place to take shelter. Moreover, it can also as a place to move. It can be traced from the traces left behind. Ceruk Gua Gong Barat located in preparation environment Angga Swara Nongkong stone, Desa Adat Jimbaran, Badung, Bali showed traces of prehistoric human activities. Namely residential activity, hunting and gathering, processing foodstu?s. Indications of such activities based on various archaeological findings in the form of shells, animal bones, animal teeth, fish bones, and shaved. Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of language in multi-ethnic family in Sanur village of South Denpasar, Bali. The description includes (1) the use of language in multi-ethnic family, (2) the function of Indonesian language in the multi-ethnic family, (3) Linguistics constraints faced by multi-ethnic families in Sanur in the communication, both within the family and outside the family. This study uses socio-pragmatics theory that is sociolinguistics theory which sees the language to be in touch with the community of native speakers. Therefore, language is always heterogeneous (not homogeneous) because of the community diversity of the language speakers. Then, the theory is combined with the pragmatic theory that studies how significant data in this study is a field method and the method of analysis is descriptive method. This study found that (1) Based on various situation of language usage, the lagunage used are (a) Indonesian language is used in formal situation Indonesian language mixed with Balinese language are used in non-formal and emotional situation and also when the dialogue happened in the family Indonesian language is used in the o?ce, public health center and school. Meanwhile, within the family, wedding or funerals ceremony and shopping in the market, they use Indonesian language mixed with local and foreign language. Then, in the family meeting and in emotional situation, they use local language (Balinese), and for greeting the neighbor on the street, they use mixed language (Balinese and Indonesian language). Finally, in the religious situation, such as communication situation of personal relationship to the God, they use Indonesian language mixed with the religion language (spell, Arabic, and Japanese). (3) The communication constraints in multi-ethnic family such as the language in the beginning of communication and also di?erent culture and religion. Abstract

politeness. It can be seen from the choice of di?erent vocabulary selected for use by speakers in accordance with the context of use (place, time, and hearer). Politeness not only be seen from the speech (verbal), but is also reflected in the movements (nonverbal) speakers. This paper aims to express politeness both verbal and nonverbal language in the service implemented by the waiter at the shopping center ISETAN Urawa, Japan in serving visitors. This research is a descriptive case study using the techniques in interviews and direct observation in data collection. The results showed that the waiters in ISETAN Urawa, Japan utilizing both verbal and nonverbal means to bring civility to the partner language he said that the visitors of the shopping center. In addition, the waiters previously have received adequate training before being assigned to serve the visitors. There is a cultural concept that is invisible behind it that is appreciated meeting with other people (? ? ? ? ichi go ichi e). Key words: politeness verbal, nonverbal politeness, ISETAN

Abstract

Candrasangkala in the form of the composition of the picture (chronogram) engraved sun, elephants, candi bentar, and the dragon is found on the walls of sacred buildings Tepasana in Tirtha Empul temple Tampaksiring. The composition of the image is analyzed using qualitative analysis to describe and classify into candrasangkala assessment system uses watek and guru. Based on the analysis obtained a grading system, namely: the sun has a value of 1, the elephant has a value of 8, candi bentar has a value of 9, and the dragon has a value of 8 to get an arrangement of year numbers 1898 ?aka or 1976 AD. ?aka year is estimated as a warning sign/events on completion of restoration of sacred buildings in the form of old building (bebaturan) named Tepasana in Tirtha Empul temple Tampaksiring. Abstract

Politeness speech through the courtesy expression is a basis for developing e?ective. In Japanese society, courtesy expression is used both in the family environment and the workplace. With this phenomen, this paper is focused on politeness speech through the courtesy expression in Japanese. Politeness speech through the courtesy expression can be classifying into six maxims. These maxims are maxim of wisdom, generosity maxims, award, simplicity maxims, maxims comunication in a community. Courtesy expression in Japanese is a speech that used to grow and develop conversation that take place between two or more speakers to strengthen their relationship of agreement and sympathy. Abstract

This article describes an initiative raised by young people from ethnic communities Marori Gey Men in Kampung Wasur Merauke to collect folklore as educational media and cultural customs. Language Marori Men practical Gey has lost an active speaker among young children. Folk stories told by elders to contain relations historically complex between the Marori Men Gey with Dema, their ancestors and with Mbur, old hamlet and the natural environment such as the hamlet of sago and wood believed to be the place of residence of the ancestors to protect their o?spring in the village , The values reflect the cultural knowledge of human relationships with the natural environment and ancestral started excluded in conjunction with the inability of young children to imbibe values in the language of folklore Marori Men Gey. Insistence socio-cultural changes brought by the timber loggers who exploit timber hamlets with the seduction of money makes people Marori Men Gey to think pragmatically who sacrificed their timber village. In this situation the Marori Men Gey lost his imagination to move ahead. This article studied education movement of young people to glue their imagination about the history and the world of the Marori Men Gey to respond to the insistence of social change inevitable. Abstract

Treatment of library materials is a very important activity, which with good care and true, it is expected that the existing collection last long. Library collections preservation e?orts done by: 1. Clean the storage shelves of books and book by using Vacuum cleaner 2. Put the book on the glass cupboard 3. Installing air conditioning in the room of the library 4. Spraying of insecticides with a glass filter or glass di?user in order to weaken the incoming sunlight Fumigation aimed at killing insects, especially eggs and larvae and can be lethal fungus 7. Laminate is a way to protect the already fragile books that kept, of course, will a?ect the positive image of the quality of library services, users visit the library and take advantage of the school library service facilities.
