Abstract

Analyze of intermediate heat exchanger in Pb-Bi cooled nuclear reactor for hydrogen production design have been done. Based on one dimensional convective and conduction heat transfer model, temperature distribution ofprimary and secondary Pb-Bi at IHX have been modeled. Heat transfer coefficients ofprimary and secondary Pb-Bi coolant are calculated by sub channel analysis method. Primary and secondary Pb-Bi coolant temperature distribution obtained by solving numerically first orders differential equation using Runge-Kutta- Gill method Incase primary coolant flow rate 7000 kg/s and IHX inlet temperature 552°C, outlet temperature and flow rate of Pb-Bi secondary coolant are 542°C and 2700 kg/s. The temperature secondary coolant 542°C corresponds to chemical reaction temperature of steam membrane reforming.

Abstract

People with visual impairment is one who just had a vision defect, not a personality flaw nor defect in the will. Even reversed their eyesight defects, many of the potencies latent are difficult to actualize due to a lack of accessibility that they can get. Therefore it would be wise if the government agencies / private sector are more concerned and attentive to this issue. Blind people, as part of the Indonesian people, should be brought out of poverty that shackled his life. This means that they are given the opportunity to transform themselves into better by participating in education and training, so they can become professional and reliable. Thus, their the empowermentof people with visual impairment is an effort to improve a certain dignity in order to escape limitations.

Abstract

Indonesian government had developed a policy to diversify energy from other sources in order to reduce thedependency towards fossil fuel. However, subsidy on fossil fuel impedes the efforts. Therefore, the governmentneeds to reallocate the subsidy in order to support the diversification. Indonesia still has vast amount of naturalgas and coal resources and they have opportunities to replace fossil fuel as the main energy. This paper aimsto study the opportunities to implement subsidy policy in developing those two energy sources. The study usesdescriptive-qualitative approach and uses secondary data from literature, journal, internet and other secondarysources. The study finds that there is an opportunity to implement subsidy for revitalizing the city gas program.This program should be able to replace liquefied petroleum gas. The government can also implement subsidy inorder to accelerate the coal liquefaction development.

Abstract

Cu-30Zn alloy has good atmospheric corrosion resistance. It is mainly used as automotive radiator cores, ammunition component, lamp fixture, flashlight shells and kickplates. Cold rolled Cu-30Zn with deformation degree 33,87% at 300OC was tested its Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) property. Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of a Cu–30Zn has been investigated using Mattsson solutions 0,5 M (NH4)2SO4 + 0,05 M CuSO4 in room temperature by using a constant load method. Cu-30Zn has a weakness on stress corrosion cracking in ammonia environment (mattson solution). Scanning electron microscope (SEM) testing indicated the failure of cold roll Cu-30Zn was a transgranular cracking. Furthermore, cracking occued at stress below yield stress. Energy dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) test exhibited dezincification indication on fracture surface. The visual examination of surface morphology on alloy showed discoloration from yellow to red. Homogenized Cu-30Zn showed better SCC resistance than cold rolled Cu-30Zn.

Abstract

A study on the exploration of bird diversity in Gunung Ambang Nature Reserve was performed to collect much information on the existence of the bird species especially the endemic bird species in Wallace bioregion. This research was done by using two methods, an irregular transect method and a method with mistnet installation to determine the bird morphological characteristics. The observation area was determined purposively. A total of68 species has been recorded from this research and those were dominated by family Columbidae. From the total species found, it could be classified into 32 families and 28 species including the endemic bird species. Seven bird species have been obtained from the mistnet method and among them, four species were found as endemic species. They were Dark-eared Myza (Myza celebensis celebensis), Matinan Blue Flycatcher (Cyornis sanfordi), Speckled Boobook (Ninox punctulata), and Sulawesi Leaf-warbler (Phylloscopus sarasinorum nesophilus).

Abstract

Growth center is the area or region that is growing very rapidly because it is used as a development central development affecting other areas in the vicinity. Given that areas be the center of that growth is expected in the surrounding areas also affected and stimulated to advance. The aim of the research was to identify subdistricts which have the opportunity or the potential to be the centers of economic growth in Nias District and to analyze the interaction (correlation) between growth center and the hinterlands of supporting subdistricts. The data were analyzed descriptive qualitatively, using skalogram analysis in order to know the centers of regional development based on the availability of economic, social, and governmental facilities and gravitation analysis in order to estimate the attraction of a location in the regional development, compared with the other locations or with the hinterlands. The result of the analysis showed that the first growth center in Nias District is Gido Subdistrict, the second growth center is Idanogawo Subdistrict, and the third growth center is Botomuzoi Subdistrict.

Abstract

Ambon Bay has a unique characterictic with its semi enclosed water inner bay. The aim of this research is to study the dynamics of water mass in Ambon Bay through the observation of vertical and horizontal distribution of temperature and salinity. The observation was conducted in 18 different stations throughout 2015 during Northwest Monsoon (February), Transition I (April), Southeast Monsoon (August), and Transition II (November). The result shows that the dynamics of water masses in Ambon Bay is strongly influenced by the monsoon. During the Northwest Monsoon, the temperature is higher than the other season and mixing phenomenon occurs, which is caused by heat diffusion from the surface. In the Transition I, water column stratification tends to occur caused by its mixing with fresh water. In Southeast Monsoon, the temperature in Ambon Bay is lower than the other season and flushing phenomenon occurs in Inner Ambon Bay which is caused by high density water mass flow from Banda  Sea to Inner Ambon Bay. Entering the Transition II, the temperature are getting warmer again and forming a stratification which is caused by heat diffusion from the surface. The salinity profile in Ambon Bay shows the  similar characteristic with temperature in every season. The salinity in Inner Bay is lower than the Outer Bay due to its mixing with fresh water.

Abstract

This study has conducted to know readiness and feasibility of the Local Government of Banyumas that it willfound Broadcasting Institute of Public (LPP Local) of television as means of government to submit more information.Method which used in this study is survey technique, the results showed that there were 97.3% of Banyumaspopulations, they confessing like to watch on the TV, Public Television of men (89.2%) and woman (92.3%) replyingto require Public TV, while if asked approval of founding of public television (63%) respondents consists of men(58.8%) and from woman (67.3%) answered agree with reason to add knowledge and information about Banyumas.If It saw from views and community expectations on public television program based to results of broadcast programcomposition survey involving news bulletin (81.53%), drama/sinetron (48.45%), television debate and music ofdangdut ( 27.69%) and puppets (20.76%), while for the contents of event Appeal Television of Banyumas can raiseup local potency over 50%, regional (Central Java) 25% and national scale 25%.

Abstract

SS-430 is a ferrite type alloy that can be selected for the base material of sea-water duct-pipes in the water supply system of a power reactor, but in general the ferritic alloy is not as good as austenitic with respect to corrosion resistance. Then NaCl environment is used to examine corrosion rate of SS-430. The corrosion was observed in four concentrations of NaCl solution. The experiments were carried out using M-273 EG&G potentiostate test instrument with polarization methode. The microstructure of post-corrosion samples were analyzed with an EDS attached to SEM instrument to detect the presence of any viable corrosion byproducts. X-ray diffraction methode was also used to detect any possible emerging corrosion on samples surfaces. The results showed that SS-430 suffers very little corrosion in NaCl environment, and that this material turn out to have an outstanding resistance toward NaCl corrosion. The possible ensuing corrosion byproducts are chrome oxides and iron oxides.

Abstract

Production of trans fat free cocoa butter substitute by hydrogenation of palm kernel oil has been concluded. This research was undertaken by reaction of palm kernel oil and hydrogen using variation of pressure, catalyst and reaction time were 100 to 200 Psi, 0.05 to 0.25% and 1 to 5 hrs, respectively. The characteristic of CBS was determined i.e. content of trans fatty acid, stearic acid, melting point, iodine value and solid fat content. The result of analysis showed that increasing of pressure, catalyst and reaction time were simultaneously increase stearic acid composition, melting point, solid fat content and it was decrease iodine value and trans fatty acid content. The optimum condition was achieved at pressure 150 Psi, catalyst 0.1% and reaction time 3 hr.
