Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship among stake-holder in the effort of developing rubberindustry cluster in South Sumatra. The research method is carried out by identifying the relationships amongstake-holders, policies and regulations that support the development of rubber industrial cluster, and theirimplementation. The results indicate there is not any relationship among stake-holders. Nevertheless, policies andregulations give significant effect to the development of rubber industry in South Sumatra.

Abstract

Ultra Low Frequency (ULF)  anomalies on geomagnetic variation data can be caused by external disturbances such as from the sun or space and internal disturbances from the earth. Before the 5.4 Richter Scale earthquake at Biak on September 29, 2004, there are anomalies that might be caused by electromagnetic emission from the earth's inner layer. These anomalies have been detected on geomagnetic signal in ULF band (10 — 600 sec periods). This paper will discuss the anomaly that was detected before the earthquake, and whether it was a local event within the earth's inner layer that happened because of the earthquake's preparation phase or was it actually caused by external disturbances. Data that is being used is the H and Z component of geomagnetic data variation. The Fast Fourier Transform method (FFT method) is being used to process the geomagnetic signal so the data can be filtered by bandpass filter. The Z/H polarization method is being used to analyze the result. Dst and Kp indices are also used to determine whether the anomaly is caused by external or internal disturbances.

Abstract

Small island region has the potential of natural resources and high environmental services and can serve as the basis for implementing the capital of Indonesia’s development in the future. This area provides a productive resource such as coral reef, seagrass, mangrove forests, fisheries, and conservation areas. TWAL Pombo Island is a nature conservation area used for tourism and outdoor recreation. Some of the factors that inhibit Pombo Island tourism development areas such as; the lack of local government partisanship the management of the island, defense and safety, lack of basic infrastructure, and environmental degradation. The development of tourism in the region needs to be done as foreign exchange earnings for the region given the island’s natural beauty, andthe location is very strategic because it is more easily reached from the city center. Based on those factors, this study aims to identification of Pombo Island tourism potential based on the preception of tourists, estimates of the economic value that can be generated from the tourist island of Pombo, policy formulation development potential as a tourist attraction in the region Pombo Island.

Abstract

Experiments to examine the expression of grain yield and path analysis of several new rice varieties were conductedat irrigated paddy fields, Godean, Sleman, Yogyakarta, during the wet season from November 2012 to March 2013. Five new varieties of rice namely Inpari 4, Inpari 7, Inpari 10, Inpari 11 and Inpari 19 and a popular variety Ciherang were used as checks. Fifteen-day old seedlings sown one seed per hill were planted by jajar legowo 4:1 method, with spacing between plants 25cm x 12.5cm x 50cm, in a 4m x 5m plot. The experiment was designed using a randomized block pattern with three replications. Data obtained indicated that the highest grain yield was obtained by Inpari 10 (9.3 t/ha), followed by Inpari 4, Inpari 7, Inpari 11 and Inpari 19 (9.0 ; 8.6; 8.4 , and 8.3 t /ha, respectively). Those five varieties above mentioned gave grain yield significantly higher than that of Ciherang (5.5 t/ha) and provided excess grain yield amounted to 69.1; 63.6; 56.4; 52.7; and 50.9% for Inpari 10, Inpari 4, Inpari 7, Inpari 11 and Inpari 19, respectively. Maturity varies from 117 days to 122 days for Inpari 4 to Inpari 11, while the lowest plant height was 103.2 cm for Ciherang and Inpari 4 was the highest at 116.2 cm. Path analysis showed that filled grain per panicle directly affected yield, and contributed indirectly to the correlation between yield and each yield components.

Abstract

Spectacle animated series is the most preferred by children. Observation of the animated series shows that some of which tend to contain negative values that can negatively impact a child's development. Generally, these negative values regarding violence, either physical or verbal violence. However, in addition to containing negative values, there is also an animated series that have educational values which can be followed by children, for example, Dora the Explorer and Upin and Ipin. Later Masha and the Bear present to enliven the spectacle of television program for children. This study aimed to assess the feasibility of the animated series Masha and the Bear as the spectacle of children. This is achieved by describing the characters of Masha and Misha the bear, as well as assessing the value of positive and negative values contained in this animated series. Description obtained by observing, listening, understanding, and parsing them one by one. The results showed that although the main character, Masha, has a naughty and mischievous character, but this  animated series worth watching for children as long as parents accompany children when watching

Abstract

Nowadays, the biotechnologically production of products using enzymes has received great considerationbecause the trend towards ecologically acceptable processes or environmentally safer. The employment of lipaseas a biocatalyst in the synthesis of monoacylgliserol (MAG) allows mild reaction conditions and easy recoveryof glycerol without purification or chemical waste production. Biocatalyst in this study was commercially immobilizedlipase from Candida antarctica. Aim of this study was to investigate the stability of commercially lipaseimmobilized enzyme in the synthesis of MAG, to understand the correlation between parameters, and to estimatethe half-life of enzyme activity. Immobilized lipase enzyme was employed in the synthesis of MAG, respectively. The re-use of this enzyme has given importance information for oil and fat’s biotechnological industries. Based onthe research results, the composition of MAG for 10 times reaction, respectively, decreased 7%, while the MAG’syield and the number of products decreased 16%. The correlation between the composition of the MAG and theyield were strong and in the same direction with r = 0,812. The half-life of immobilized lipase enzyme activity inthis study was estimated 30 times in the MAG synthesis‘s cycle due to the composition of MAGs.

Abstract

This study analyses the translation mistakes of negation sentences of Mary Higgins Clark's novel entitled "stiilwatch". The target novel is translated by Juni Sohardjo. The study is clasified into semantic and sintactic analysis using descriptive comparative method. Data were collected and classified into negation scope according to Quirk's theory and analyses the translation forms in the Indonesian novel. Most of sentences from the target language of this novel use free form of the translation that have changed the structure and meaning of the original novel.

Abstract

The morphological description of 13 species of Medinilla spp. (Melastomataceae) in Bali Botanic Garden has been conducted based on morphological characters, so that it could be evidence to be justifi ed as ornamental plant. The study was conducted on plant collections of Bali Botanic Garden and the species of Medinilla which is growing wild inside the garden. Morphological data and agronomic potential of each species were showed in order to support its development as ornamental plant. Based on the results of observation of morphological characterization, several species of Medinilla was suitable to be developed as ornamental plant in pots or planted directly in the fi eld. Further explanation of each Medinilla as ornamental plant will be discussed in this paper.

Abstract

Java Voice Messenger application was developed by Java technology Standard Edition (J2SE). This application intend to facilitates communication among user on Local Area Network. They did not need the internet connection and it can perform voice file transfer process. This application can send right voice message and sound quality after compression still have a fairly good quality, and distortions can be ignored. In performance testing, delay produced quite large because the process of sending and receiving on one computer at the same time, but it depends on the size of a sound file. In addition, delay can also be affected by distance and physical media. Sustainability of communication can be maintained even if there is damage or loss of some packets at the time of delivery.
