Abstract

Introduction: Trauma brain injury is an emergency condition that requires immediate precise first aid to reduce mortality rates and prevent secondary complications. Severe head injuries can lead to intracranial bleeding, thereby affecting hemodynamics. Monitoring the increase in intracranial pressure aims to mitigate the severity of head injury in patients, reducing deaths caused by brain edema. The significance of assessing the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) in relation to increased intracranial pressure is to determine conditions that could exacerbate physiological conditions due to head injury. The objective of this study is to determine changes in intracranial pressure among severe head injury patients. Methods: This research employs a descriptive study with a retrospective approach. Patient data were sourced from medical records of individuals treated at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong, diagnosed with severe head injuries during the last year from January to December 2022. A total of 180 severe head injury patients' data were collected. Results: Research findings reveal that patients with head injuries experienced an increase in systolic blood pressure (33.3%), a decrease in pulse rate (30.5%), and a temperature within the normal range (78.9%). Conclusion: However, not all severe head injury patients exhibited elevated blood pressure, reduced pulse rate, or decreased oxygen saturation. All head injury patients experienced a decreased level of consciousness with a GCS score of less than 8.

This is certainly detrimental to both parties, the hospital or clinic will lose because of reduced income and the patient or family feels disadvantaged because treatment has not been completed. The purpose of this study was to explore the influence of knowledge, family support and the cost of care on the incidence of patients returning home at their own request in the Inpatient Room of the Sahabat Keluarga Clinic. Methods: This research design is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach with the focus of the research directed at exploring the influence of knowledge, family support and the cost of care on the incidence of patients returning home at their own request in the Inpatient Room of the Sahabat Keluarga Clinic. In addition, the qualitative approach is expected to reveal the situation and problems faced in these activities. The informants in this study were the owner or person in charge of the clinic totaling 12 (Twelve) people. Results: Knowledge has an influence on the incidence of patients going home at their own request in the Inpatient Room of the Sahabat Keluarga Clinic. Family support has an influence on the incidence of patients discharged at their own request in the Hospitalization Room of the Sahabat Keluarga Clinic. The cost of care has an influence on the incidence of patients discharged at their own request in the Hospitalization Room of the Sahabat Keluarga Clinic. Conclusion: It is expected that patients actively communicate with medical personnel and the care team to understand health conditions better. In addition, do not hesitate to ask questions and seek further information about the treatment plan that will be carried out.

Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a slowly progressive non-inflammatory disease of the diarthrodial (synovial) joints with increasing incidence age with initial symptoms of joint pain during activity. The pain will slowly get worse, resulting in obstacles to joint movement and affecting the patient's functional abilities. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of giving red ginger oil for pain, joint stiffness and functional abilities. This research will usetime series with research design of Quasi Experiments pre and post test design with the control group. The intervention by administering red ginger oil was carried out once in a day for 7 days. The sampling technique used non equivalent control group design. Evaluation was carried out on the first day, third day, fifth day and seventh day using the WOMAC score. The result of research shows the significance figure tested using the Pillai, Wilk's Lambda, Hotelling and Roy's procedures, shows the significance figure is below 0.05 (ie 0.000), it can be concluded that the total WOMAC score data at pre, day-3, day-5 and day-7 are different significant between the intervention group and the control group. The results of the study showed a decrease in womac scores in the intervention group, so it is hoped that red ginger oil can be used as an alternative therapy for elderly patients with OA.

Abstract

Background: Breast milk is the primary source of nutrition babies need, where complementary foods have not been recommended for exclusive breastfeeding babies, around 44% worldwide. The low provision of Exclusive Breastfeeding is influenced by a decrease in breast milk production in the first few days after giving birth, so non-pharmacological efforts are needed to increase breast milk production in postpartum mothers, such as the SPEOS method (Stimulation of Endorphin Massage, Oxytocin, and Suggestive) combined with the administration of lavender and fennel essential oil aromatherapy. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of applying the SPEOS method with lavender and fennel essential oil aromatherapy on increasing breast milk production in postpartum mothers. Method: This research is a quasi-experiment (Quasi Experiment design) with a two-group pre-posttest design. The study was conducted from July to September 2023 with 30 postpartum mothers who met the inclusion criteria with a purposive sampling technique, analysis with a paired t-test, and an independent t-test. Results: There is no significant difference in breast milk production before intervention between the SPEOS group with lavender aromatherapy and the SPEOS group with fennel aromatherapy, with a p-value of 0.66. After intervention, there is no significant difference in breast milk production between the SPEOS group with lavender aromatherapy and the SPEOS group with fennel aromatherapy, with a p-value of 0.28. Conclusion: The SPEOS method with both aromatherapy with lavender aromatherapy and fennel aromatherapy can increase breast milk production.

Abstract

Introduction: Identification of factors that cause strokes greatly contributes to improving the prevention of stroke attacks. The study aimed to determine the risk factors that influence the incidence of stroke in the emergency room. Method: The research design used a cross-sectional, the sample was 91 stroke patients who underwent a complete examination. Samples were taken using consecutive sampling techniques starting from May-July 2023. Data collection was carried out by identifying the results of TTV, BB, ECG, laboratory examinations, and stroke symptoms, which ended with interviews with family members of stroke patients. Data analysis was carried out using bivariate analysis and logistic regression. Result: The research results showed, 38.5% were stroke bleeding and 60% were ischemic strokes. Factors that influence the incidence of stroke in the emergency room are gender (OR=9.524), hypertension (OR=0.346), blood glucose levels (OR=0.968), heart rate (OR=1.055), history of DM (OR=0.026), history of HT (OR=1.298), cholesterol history (OR=0026), and heart history (OR=92.147). Conclusion: Risk factors that influence the incidence of stroke in the ER include risk factors that cannot be changed, namely gender, and risk factors that can be changed include hypertension, blood glucose levels, heart rate (EKG), history of diabetes mellitus, history of cholesterol, and history of heart disease. A history of heart disease is the dominant risk factor that influences the incidence of stroke because this disease is related to blood vessels which can cause blockages, ruptures, and embolism of cerebral blood vessels which ultimately results in a stroke.
