One of the complaints caused by physical changes in older adults is pain. The more common pain in older adults is musculoskeletal pain. There are two commonly used pain management, namely, pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. One of the non-pharmacological techniques that can be used to reduce pain in the elderly is the use of kinesio plasters or kinesio taping. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of kinesio taping as a non-pharmacological pain management technique on pain in the elderly. Methods: This study uses a quantitative method of Quasi Experiment through a Pretest-Posttest approach with Control Group Design, with a sample of 28 respondents who were taken using a simple random sampling technique. The questionnaire in this study used the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) application on an android smartphone. Result: There was a difference in pain before and after kinesiotaping in the intervention group with a p-value <0.05 using the paired sample t-test, and there was a difference in pain between the intervention group and the control group, with a p-value <0.05 using the independent t test. -test. Conclusion: Pain management, especially non-pharmacological in the elderly, is very prioritized to avoid the use of pharmacological therapy in the long term. One alternative non-pharmacological therapy that can be implemented is kinesiotaping.

The pain gets worse over time, causing the obstruction of joint movements and affects the patient’s functional ability. The aim of the study was to identify the effect of red ginger compress therapy and kinesio tapping on pain and stiffness in the joints and functional ability. Methods: This research used the Quasi Experiment pre and post test design with control group. A simple random technique to collect 112 respondents who were devided into intervention group receiving red ginger compress therapy, kinesiotaping group, combination of red ginger compress therapy and kinesiotaping group, and control group, each of which consisted of 28 respondents in Pangesti Elderly Home Lawang and Pangesti Tresno Mukti Elderly Home Turen. Results: Evaluation based on WOMAC index was applied on day one, three, five and seven. The result of ANCOVA showed the red ginger compress intervention with p = 0.005, kinesiotaping with p = 0.005 and red ginger compress + kinesiotaping with p = 0.005 in reducing pain, joint stiffness and difficulty functional ability. Conclusion: This research findings are expected to be one of non-pharmcological therapies recommended to patients with OA.

The older adult’s group was 63 respondents and the chronic disease group was 63 respondents. The researcher used 11 questionnaires and multivariate analysis test results using SEM with SmartPLS. Results: The results of the multivariate analysis test using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) with SmartPLS (Partial Least Square) showed that the factors that influenced COVID-19 prevention behaviour in the older adult’s group were knowledge, while in the chronic disease group was social support and attitude towards COVID-19. Conclusion: It is hoped that it can improve preventive behaviour against COVID-19 by understanding what factors are weakening or factors that can increase the risk of COVID-19 transmission in the elderly and people with chronic diseases, and can be a policy reference in implementing the protocol of COVID-19 for the Village Government.

Evaluasi dilakukan dengan melakukan pre test dan post test pengetahuan kader tentang nyeri sendi dan penatatalaksanaannya kompres jahe merah dan kinesiotaping. Kegiatan diikuti seluruh kader yaitu sejumlah 10 orang. Hasil evaluasi pengetahuan meningkat 96% dari nilai rata-rata 50 (kategori sedang) menjadi nilai rata-rata 98 (kategori baik), penatalaksanaan nyeri sendi non farmakologi untuk kompres jahe merah meningkat 139% dari nilai rata-rata 38 (kategori kurang) menjadi nilai rata-rata 91 (kategori baik) dan pemasangan plester kinesio meningkat 250% dari nilai rata-rata 22 (kategori kurang) menjadi nilai rata-rata 77 (kategori baik). Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a slowly progressive non-inflammatory disease of the diarthrodial (synovial) joints with increasing incidence age with initial symptoms of joint pain during activity. The pain will slowly get worse, resulting in obstacles to joint movement and affecting the patient's functional abilities. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of giving red ginger oil for pain, joint stiffness and functional abilities. This research will usetime series with research design of Quasi Experiments pre and post test design with the control group. The intervention by administering red ginger oil was carried out once in a day for 7 days. The sampling technique used non equivalent control group design. Evaluation was carried out on the first day, third day, fifth day and seventh day using the WOMAC score. The result of research shows the significance figure tested using the Pillai, Wilk's Lambda, Hotelling and Roy's procedures, shows the significance figure is below 0.05 (ie 0.000), it can be concluded that the total WOMAC score data at pre, day-3, day-5 and day-7 are different significant between the intervention group and the control group. The results of the study showed a decrease in womac scores in the intervention group, so it is hoped that red ginger oil can be used as an alternative therapy for elderly patients with OA.
