<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the role of parents in shaping the disciplined character of studying at home during the covid19 pandemic and knowing about parental supervision when studying at home. This research is a qualitative research using an descriptive approach. The subjects in this research are parents of elementary school children. The results of this study indicate that the role of parents carries out two roles at once, the first to be a parent and the second to be a teacher at home; provide facilities that support children's learning spirit; supervising children's learning activities while at home; Supervise the good use of study time, as well as guide and encourage learning.]]>

<![CDATA[Reading comprehension is a person's ability to know and understand the meaning contained in a reading text. Teaching strategy is a teacher’s scheme in teaching and learning process to achieve a aim which have plan. The study aimed to explore teaching strategies and implementation in reading comprehension in seventh grade students at SMPN 2 Jabon Sidoarjo. This research method is qualitative research. The subject of this research is an English teacher at SMPN 2 Jabon Sidoarjo. The research instrument is a checklist of observations and interviews. The results of the study found that there were three strategies used by the teacher, Text-Based Instruction, Finding the meaning (scaffolding) and exercise (online learning). With Text-Based Instruction the teacher provides several steps to improve students' reading comprehension skills, Finding the meaning (scaffolding) strategies to help students develop ideas that can be read by students, and exercises (online learning) to hone students' skills while studying at home.]]>

<![CDATA[The ability to recognize consonants has an important role in the lives of early childhood because introducing consonants to children is the first step for children to be able to read and to make a word, consonants and vowels are needed. This study aims to determine the application and results of the "Smart Box" media towards increasing consonant recognition in children in group A. This study uses Classroom Action Research as an approach to improve children's ability to recognize consonants. It is carried out in 2 cycles which are divided into three stages, namely pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II to obtain the expected results. In the pre-cycle the result of the percentage of action achievement value was 46.16%, while in the first cycle the percentage increased by 22.09% so that the percentage score was 69%, which means it was not successful. Then the researcher continued by giving action in the second cycle, after doing the research in the second cycle, the percentage of action achievement value became 88.58%%, so that the percentage value obtained in the first cycle and second cycle increased by 19.58%. With this it can be seen from the comparison between cycles I and II during the research. From the results obtained, there is an increase which proves that using the "Smart Box" media can improve the ability to recognize children's consonants.]]>

<![CDATA[This study discusses the analysis of the relevance of the content of character values in theme 4 "Duties and Rights" in the formation of the character of third grade elementary school students. With this, the researchers found problems that need to be researched. The problem is about how the character values are loaded in the thematic book for students in theme 4 "Duties and Rights" for grade III elementary school. This research is a qualitative research using content analysis method. The data subject is the student book theme 4 "Duties and Rights" revised edition 2018. The character values that are the focus of this research are the value of self-confidence, the value of disciplined character, the value of the character of responsibility, the value of caring character, and the value of polite character. The results obtained from this study are the five characters in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 64 of 2013 concerning Content Standards for Primary and Secondary Education. The frequency of occurrence of character values analyzed is 57 which consists of 10 occurrences of confident character, 5 frequency of appearance of discipline character, 12 frequency of appearance of responsibility character, 16 frequency of appearance of caring character, and 14 frequency of appearance of polite character.]]>

<![CDATA[This study discusses the role of people in learning activities during the pandemic. Researchers found problems with online learning, teachers have difficulty monitoring students during learning, so they need parents as substitutes for teachers while studying at home. To examine these problems, researchers used a qualitative phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques using interviews and observation. The research subjects are parents of grade 1 students. Based on the results of the study, it shows that parents have a role (1) to prepare learning facilities such as cellphones, Wifi, internet data packages. (2) Parents accompany when learning takes place, doing assignments, homework, and practicum. While the problems of online learning experienced by parents are: (1) parents are busy with homework, there are also parents who have to work. (2) The lack of explanation from the teacher because they only got assignments through the WA group. (3) Parents do not understand the material so they find it difficult to help students. (4) It is difficult for parents to increase learning motivation.]]>

<![CDATA[Cognitive ability is one of the developmental aspects of children who are experiencing maturity and need to be developed. In the cognitive development of early childhood there is one development that must be developed, namely recognizing letters. The introduction of the letters of the alphabet in early childhood helps children to recognize various kinds of letters of the alphabet. Regarding the letter recognition program, it can be done using interactive video media "Let's Get to Know the Letters". The purpose of this study was to improve the ability to recognize letters of the alphabet in Group A children in PKK 1 Jodokan Kindergarten, Beji District. This research is a Classroom Action Research. Based on the data analysis carried out, it was concluded that the ability to recognize the letters of the alphabet in group A in Pre-cycle obtained an average value of 35%, while in Cycle I the percentage was 48.33%, which means less than the maximum. Then giving the Cycle II action, the percentage of the average value becomes 93%, so that the average gain in cycle I and cycle II has increased again by 44.67%. The conclusion of this research is that through viewing the interactive video "Let's Get to Know the Letters" can increase the ability to recognize the letters of the alphabet.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this research is to determine the values of the character of Islamic education in the novel Laskar Pelangi by Andrea Hirata, to increase knowledge about the values of educational characters in the novel Laskar Pelangi by Andrea Hirata. This researcher can also provide benefits for readers to motivate when taking an education.The method in this thesis uses qualitative research because the data collected is presented in the form of verbal words instead of numbers. This research is included in library research (library research), namely by using literature (literature), reading notes, analyzing research materials in the form of books, notes, journals and the internet. This study found four character values of Islamic education in Andrea Hirata's novel Laskar Pelangi, namely: aqidah value, worship value, moral value, and finally, social value.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the effect of the Articulate Storyline Application based RAYA (Cultural Variety) Learning Media on the interest in learning social studies for fourth graders at SDN Balongmacekan, and to find out how much influence the application of the interactive articulate storyline-based RAYA (Cultural Variety) learning media has on learning interest. Social Studies students of class IV SDN Balongmacekan. Analysis of research data using the t-test (one-tail test). Uses experimental research methods and one-group pretest-posttest design. The data collection technique used a student's social studies learning interest questionnaire. The sampling technique used a total sample, and fourteen student was the fourth-grade of SDN Balongmacekan. The results showed of the t-test with a tcount of 32.56. If viewed from the t table value with a significance level of 5% (0.05), the value is 1.761, and it can be said that the value of tcount > ttable is 32.56 > 1.761. This shows an influence on applying articulate storyline-based RAYA (Cultural Variety) learning media on the interest in learning social studies for fourth-grade students at SDN Balongmacekan. While the results of the analysis using eta square show that the value of eta square is 0.987 > 0.14, this shows that there is a significant influence on the application of interactive media-based RAYA (Cultural Variety) learning media on the interest in learning social studies for fourth-grade students at SDN Balongmacekan.]]>

Through character education can help in the formation of student character with the efforts made jointly between students,teachers and parents. This thesis aims to determine the implementation of religious character education for elementary school students in terms of the implementation process. The research method used is the study of literature or literature by using critical study methods. Data collection is done through literature data in the form of books, articles, relevant research journals. The result of the analysis obtained in this study are the process of implementing students religious character education through a learning process carried out by implementing student character building which is integrated in the subject.
