Abstract

The research aims to describe the guidance counseling Islam in developing religious practice counselees (transgender), by using research libraries in the search for sources that are relevant to the research and using content analysis as a technique for analyzing sources that exist, thus generating appropriate conclusions. The results showed that the guidance and Islamic Guidance and Counseling in developing religious practice counselees (transgender) guided by the provisions contained in it, namely; carrying out the stages, obeying and applying existing principles, to evaluating the guidance and Islamic Guidance and Counseling itself, that way, Islamic Guidance and Counseling as a development medium will be able to realize religious practice and its impact on the counselee (transgender) concerned.

Abstract

The study aims to evaluating the impact of guidance and counseling services on the academic performance of students in some selected secondary schools in Sokoto metropolis. Causal-comparative (Ex-post facto) research design was adopted for this study. This study involves a total of 200 subjects comprising 5 principals, 25 class teachers, 10 teacher counselors, and 160 students from the five selected schools. Data were collected using the four sets of questionnaires. Data analysis was done using descriptive and inferential statistics. The finding revealed that eighty percent (80%) of the students responded that their academic performance was changed after receiving counseling services. Seventy-two percent (72%) of the class teachers perceived the level of students’ academic performance after counseling as good, while 20% perceived it very good and 8% rated it bad. Guidance and counseling services have positively influenced the academic performance of the students and should be strengthened to improve the students’ performance in national examinations.

Abstract

Guidance and counseling service is useful for students in Islamic Boarding Schools but to determine service based on the requirement of students is difficult. This research purposed to describe the results ofDevelopmental Task Inventory(ITP) to help students find developmental tasks that have not been achieved. This research used survey method. The respondents of this research six classes with the amount of 445 students in two Boarding School of Yogyakarta. The results showed that the achievement of development tasks students above the average growth rate of 3.75. The task of development is not yet achieved (<3.75). Based on these results, the researcher sees each class having differences in aspects of development tasks that have not been achievedand require different guidance and counseling services.

Abstract

Background of this research is the lack of students' understanding of career planning, there are several career problems faced by students. This study aims to produce a mobile learning-based career planning application at Senior High School 1 Talang Ubi. This development research refers to the steps of research and development (R&D) by Borg and Gall. Subjects in the initial field trial 6 students scored 79.46 in the very good category, the main field trial 12 students scored 84.07 in the very good category, and the operational field trial 32 students scored 94.47 in the very good category.  good.  Subject selection was based on the purposive sampling technique. The results showed that (1) the media produced was in the form of a career planning application using Adobe AIR for Android Version 0.1, (2) the mobile learning produced according to experts was suitable for use as a medium for student career planning at Senior High School 1 Talang Ubi.

Abstract

The present study aims to observe the impact of extracurricular activities on the academic performance of students at the secondary level in Multan city. All the students at the secondary level in the public sector of Multan city are the population of this study. Three hundred student’s 9th and 10th classes from (two) secondary schools from Multan city were selected. For this study, the researcher uses a simple random sampling technique. A total of 30 survey questions were developed based on Likert-scale type statement options (SA, A, N, DA, SDA), keeping in mind the objective of the study. The data were tabulated and analyzed by using descriptive statistical techniques. The MS-Excel is used for the descriptive analysis of the data. The study concluded that there is a severe need for the introduction of extracurricular activities, orientation programs for the students of secondary level. Extracurricular activities have a positive influence on students' life by improving their behavior, academic performance, better exam scores, more regular class attendance, a better self-image, due to these aspects which makes the students life more successful. Finally, the study suggests that Government should support the introduction of extracurricular activities in all secondary schools, allocate special funds, appoint special trainers/teachers, and fix their pay equal to other subject teachers.
