Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program on the income of school canteen vendors in Bengkulu City. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through the distribution of Likert-scale questionnaires to 96 school canteen vendors selected using the Disproportionate Stratified Random Sampling technique. The results showed that the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program had a significant impact on the income of school canteen vendors in Bengkulu City, with a significance value of 0.000, indicating that the research hypothesis was accepted. The regression equation obtained was Y = 10.287 + 0.613X, while the coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.526 indicates that the implementation of the program explains 52.6% of the variation in vendors' income, whereas the remaining 47.4% is influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. The mean score of the program implementation variable was 2.91, while the mean score of the vendors' income variable was 2.90, both of which fall into the moderate category. In conclusion, the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program has a significant impact on the income of school canteen vendors in Bengkulu City. Therefore, its impact on school canteen vendors should be taken into consideration in the implementation of the program. Keywords: Free Nutritious Meal Program, Program Impact, Vendors' Income.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the construction of a new social identity among adolescent girls of the Serawai ethnic group through the Kayiak Nari tradition in Padang Pandan Village, South Bengkulu, and to analyze its relevance to national cultural advancement policies. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method with a field case study approach, utilizing participant observation and in-depth interviews as the primary data collection techniques. The results indicate that this tradition operates within a tripartite structure of rites of passage (separation, liminality, and aggregation). Through a dramaturgical lens, the front stage serves as a space for actors to manage impressions through symbolic personal fronts in order to meet public moral expectations. Conversely, the backstage serves as a space for psychological negotiation, temporal flexibility, and family economic efficiency. The study’s conclusion affirms that the resilience of the Kayiak Nari tradition has been successfully maintained thanks to the synergy of local village government policies that integrate customary law into the modern administrative system in accordance with the mandate of Law No. 5 of 2017 on the Advancement of Culture. This study offers a theoretical contribution regarding the adaptation of local rituals in the modern era. Keywords: Cultural Policy, Dramaturgy, Kayiak Nari, Rites of Passage, Serawai Tribe
