Abstract

The growth of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has brought significant progress in various aspects of human life, including in the field of religion. One application that is attracting attention is AI's ability to provide interpretations of sacred texts, including the Al-Qur'an. This research aims to explore the capabilities and limitations of ChatGPT, a language-based AI model, in providing interpretation of the Al-Qur'an. This study uses a qualitative approach with content analysis to evaluate the quality of interpretations produced by ChatGPT regarding Al-Qur'an verses. The research results show that although ChatGPT is able to provide quite good interpretations of several verses of the Al-Qur'an, there are several limitations that need to be considered. ChatGPT tends to produce better interpretations of verses that have clear and limited context. More complex or ambiguous verses tend to be difficult for ChatGPT to understand, which can result in inaccurate or erroneous interpretations. ChatGPT has limitations in understanding the cultural, historical and linguistic context contained in the Al-Qur'an. This research concludes that although ChatGPT shows potential in providing interpretations of the Al-Qur'an, further development is still needed to improve the quality and depth of the interpretations produced. Therefore, the results of ChatGPT interpretation need to be considered carefully and always accompanied by a deep human understanding of the text of the Qur’an.

Abstract

The purpose of human life has been a profound question and has dominated human thought throughout history. In the Islamic tradition, the Qur'an gives a broad view of man's ultimate goal. This article delves into the Qur'anic view of man's ultimate destination, highlighting its essence, meaning, and philosophical implications in human life. The discussion begins by explaining the concept of the afterlife, which is the culminating point of the human journey according to the Qur'an, where individuals are faced with accountability for their deeds in the world. Next, it explores the Qur'anic view of the purpose of human life, leading to the awareness of obedience to Allah, spiritual enhancement, and eternal happiness in the Hereafter. Through its teaching on the afterlife, the Qur'an provides a moral and ethical foundation for human behavior, inspiring good action and doing justice, compassion, and devotion to others. Thus, through this article, we can understand how the Qur'an provides a powerful guide on the purpose of human life, as well as how the concept of this final destination influences attitudes, values, and actions in the daily lives of Muslims.

Abstract

This study examines communication ethics in the digital era from the perspective of Islamic teachings, focusing on the influence of digital communication on language values and morals. Using qualitative methods with literature studies, this study analyzes hadiths related to social ethics, as narrated by Abu Daud, to emphasize the importance of maintaining speech and behavior in interactions. The phenomenon of the crisis in understanding ethics in the use of language on social media shows that people's understanding of ethics and linguistic values is still low. The findings show that good communication ethics are needed to prevent negative practices such as cyberbullying, hoaxes, and hate speech, as well as to build a more ethical online environment. In addition, the hadith that reminds us of the dangers of uttering sentences without careful thought emphasizes the need for caution in conveying information. Therefore, this study provides recommendations to improve the understanding of communication ethics among social media users, in order to create more constructive and meaningful interactions in communication.

Abstract

The law of qisas is one part of Islamic criminal law, also known as fiqh al-jinayah. Islamic criminal law or fiqh al-jinayah encompasses all legal provisions regarding criminal acts committed by humans, especially accountable individuals, and as jurisprudence, it is the result of understanding the detailed legal evidence in the Quran and Hadith. Qisas is one of God's rules that must be implemented. Despite the disagreements among legal experts regarding the procedures for implementing qisas, there are principles of justice that should be considered and cannot be found in the implementation of other laws. This is part of God's Justice, which always seeks the welfare of humanity. The qisas law we examined uses the perspective of the Quran, specifically Surah al-Maidah verse 45, focusing on the contextualization of justice in qisas law.

Abstract

Currently, more and more people believe in the power of the environment and nature, including the sun, the mountain atmosphere, and ancestral spirits. The purpose of this study is to examine the values, symbolic meanings, history, and implementation process of the Genduren tradition. Examining the relationship between the concept of living traditions and the social and spiritual benefits felt by the community from customs is also another objective of this study. This research uses qualitative and ethnographic methodologies. George Herbert Mead refers to symbolic interactionism as social interaction facilitated by symbols. The meaning of symbols can shape social interaction. An example of symbolic interactionism theory in everyday life is when a waiter sells various items in a store. Blitar, East Java, illustrates how symbols represent certain values that are highly valued by the community. In addition, this interaction leads to new habits or habits that are carried out regularly with the same purpose. The author concludes the research problem formulation by observing passive participation and asking for opinions from several informants who deeply understand the genduren tradition.
