Abstract

This community service was conducted by considering Kulonprogo Regency’s development. Massive physical development in Kulonprogo Regency should be balanced with the human resources improvement. Foreign languages skill was chosen to be improved because Kulonprogo Regency’s community will be intensively interact with foreigners due to the existence of new airport (New Yogyakarta International Airport). Foreign languages training focused on the English, Korean and Japanese was given to the students of Vocational Senior High School in Temon (SMK N 1 Temon) which has specialty in marine and sailing. Teaching materials were prepared by conducting an interview with the teachers to find the need based on the curricullum competency. Based on the findings, community service team composed and compiled teaching materials. The team also delivered the materials through classroom teaching in several classes of SMK N 1 Temon. Through this program, foreign languages training on English, Korean and Japanese has been optimally received by SMK N 1 Temon students.

Abstract

Tourism development has become an option in many areas as a way to reduce poverty. One of the resources developed as a source of income is natural and cultural resources which are exploited as tourist objects and attractions. Tourism can be developed to improve the economy that is directly towards the community around attractions. Gerbosari Village is one of the leading villages in Samigaluh Subdistrict, Kulonprogo Regency which has a special tourism potential for use by tourist villages. The potential given by Gerbosari Village is a chrysanthemum plant whose data grows well, ponders beautiful nature, and harmonious community culture. The Village Government and Gerbosari Residents have a strong commitment to managing the potential of the village and creating innovations to enhance development through local tourism development. To realize the developed tourist village and provide direction to the welfare needed by the Gerbosari Tourism Village development masterplan. Based on the results of the preparation of the Gerbosari Tourism Village Development Masterplan, several Tourism Village objects that will be developed in the next 5 years include chrysanthemum agro-tourism areas, educational tours for the use of home yards, Camping ground and tracking of Jongkang Mountain, and the peak Cultural Tourism of Suroloyo.

Abstract

The tourist visits to Suroloyo has increased due to the improvement of accessibility, supporting facilities, and information technology. However, the community forest surrounding Suroloyo is less optimum to support the tourism sector. Coffee as a new icon of Suroloyo could not fulfill the market demand yet, because the forest land resources are less managed. Hence, this community service activity aimed to: (1) identify the structure and composition of the community forest; (2) increasing the understanding of farmers on the optimization of land resource management; and (3) increasing the skill of farmers on coffee cultivation. The number of 35 members of the coffee farmer group in Keceme Village owned 0,35 ha of land on average. Albizia (Falcataria mollucana), saman (Meisopsis eminii) and mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) dominate the forest stand, by the mean canopy cover of 53% (optimum cover for coffee is 40-60%). The on-farm training for the farmers and interactive discussion with an invited expert on coffee cultivation was held. In addition, the superior coffee seed from the Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Institute are shared to the farmers with expectations of increasing productivity. The motivation and ability of the farmers on coffee cultivation in order to support the agritourism in Suroloyo were increased.

Abstract

Pembangunan kesehatan merupakan salah satu upaya pembangunan nasional untuk tercapainya kesadaran, kemauan dan kemampuan hidup sehat bagi setiap penduduk untuk mewujudkan derajat kesehatan masyarakat yang setinggi-tingginya. Pelaksanaan pembangunan kesehatan diarahkan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran, kemauan dan kemampuan hidup setiap orang agar memiliki Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) di lingkungan keluarga, sekolah, dan masyarakat. Untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut diperlukan upaya untuk mengedukasi anak-anak usia dini untuk berperilaku hidup bersih dan sehat, salah satunya di lingkungan sekolah. PHBS di lingkungan sekolah merupakan langkah untuk memberdayakan siswa, guru dan masyarakat lingkungan sekolah agar bisa dan mau melakukan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat dalam menciptakan sekolah yang sehat. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi tentang PHBS pada usia dini pada siswa sekolah dasar di SD N 2 Samigaluh Kulonprogo.Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan yaitu berupa edukasi yang terdiri dari penyuluhan, pemutaran video, diskusi dan tanya jawab. Peserta kegiatan edukasi yaitu siswa Sekolah Dasar Negeri 2 Samigaluh Kulonprogo kelas 1, 2, dan 3. Materi yang disampaikan yaitu mencuci tangan dengan sabun sebelum dan sesudah makan, mengkonsumsi jajanan sehat, menggunakan jamban bersih dan sehat, olahraga yang teratur, memberantas jentik nyamuk, tidak merokok di lingkungan sekolah, membuang sampah pada tempatnya, dan melakukan kerja bakti bersama warga lingkungan sekolah untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang sehat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta tentang PHBS dimana terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan sebesar 57%. Diharapkan kegiatan edukasi PHBS di sekolah dapat dilanjutkan pada daerah lain sebagai upaya untuk menumbuhkan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat pada usia dini.

Abstract

Sidoharjo village has natural resources that can be used to increase the community welfare. The village government has formed BUMDes in an effort to improve the welfare of the community. However, the BUMDes has not yet played an optimal role in community empowerment. There is no synergy between the activities of the village government, business actors, and BUMDes so that the management of resources has not had an impact on improving the welfare of village communities. The solution offered in Community Service activities is identification and mapping the potential natural resources in Sidoharjo. The result of this activity can be used as source data to plan new business unit in BUMDes. Thus it is hoped that BUMDes can emerge as one of the new economic forces based on local potential in Sidoharjo Village. Mapping the natural resource of the village begins with a number of discussions with village officials, tourism awareness groups, and businesses to get preliminary data on existing problems. Then the survey is carried out in several stages to get the latest data on the potential of existing resources. The results of the activities in the form of village potential manuscripts and also tourism potential videos are expected to be used as preliminary data for planning the development of new business units under the management of BUMDes so that the utilization of natural resource potential is more optimal. It is hoped that this will drive the economy in Sidoharjo Village, which has an impact on improving community welfare.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism maintains the balance between environment, social and economy. Sustainable tourism development requires participation from broader group of people. The program aims to develop community economic business partnerships as a suporting system for an ecotourism site, as what has been implemented in Wisata Alam Seroja which is located in Tlogo, Wonosobo. The village is situated in the hills of Dieng and has views of the Telogo Menjer and the nature of Bukit Seroja. The destination has been opened since 2015 and has only benefited the Tourism Awareness Community Group (Kelompok Sadar Wisata or POKDARWIS). The development of sustainable nature tourism is expected to provide and to make an impact for wider community. Incubation method was employed to empower the Community Economic Business Group (Kelompok Usaha Ekonomi Masyarakat Desa or KUEMD). The KUEMD consists of POKDARWIS, farmer group, culinary group, art group and craft group. The program was held from January 2019 to February 2020 and as a result the partnership of the KUEMD of Tlogo is able to become a support system for Wisata Alam Seroja. The program has also successfully connected Wisata Alam Seroja with two tourism marketplaces; Traval.co and Selenago.com.

Abstract

Polikteknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang bekerjasama dengan KUPP Labuan baju menyelenggarakan DPM KLM dan SKK 30/60 Mil Labuan Bajo. Tim Diklat Keterampilan Khusus Pelaut memberikan pelatihan Basic Safety Training (BST) kepada crew kapal penyebrangan di Labuan Bajo pada kegiatan pengabdian imasyarakat. PIP iSemarang menugaskan narasumber ahlii dari dosen/praktisi dalam rangka menolong memberikan penyuluhan tentang pentingnyai keselamatan dasar dalam rangka survival di laut. Crew kapal penyebrangan lokal bergegas melakukan prinsip dasar keselamatanl dan bertahan di laut pada saat melakukan pekerjaanya rutinitasnya sehingga sesuaii pada aturan-aturan pelayarani dan menciptakan suasana aman dan nyamani pada saat berlayar.
