Abstract

PT. Telaga Tanjung Pomosda, a bottled mineral water manufacturer in Nganjuk, East Java, faces challenges in maintaining high production standards and addressing operational issues such as product rejection and production process errors, impacting overall company efficiency and reputation. This study identifies operational error factors and evaluates the effectiveness of improvement methods. Research procedures utilize HTA, SHERPA, and Poka-Yoke to identify and reduce human errors in bottled mineral water production at PT. Telaga Tanjung Pomosda Nganjuk, focusing on error analysis, probability assessment, and Poka-Yoke strategy implementation. The bottled water packaging process involves critical stages such as cup packaging, pressing, and packing. Errors in each stage can result in delays, decreased water volume, imperfectly pressed lids, and packing mistakes, hindering the entire production process. Research at PT. Telaga Tanjung Pomosda identifies operator issues in machine settings, water measurement, lid positioning, task interruptions, packaging, and cup positioning, with solutions including routine checks and training to enhance product quality

Abstract

Banyuwangi produces potential cassava chips. However, due to slow manual stripping, production capacity is low, market demand is high, and product quality decreases. This study develops an optimized peeling machine using NIDA-QFD to meet user needs and increase innovation. Experimental design model and 5 alternative actions of cassava peeling machine. ABC Banyuwangi Industry with 10 respondents, including owners and employees, was given intervention in the action decision. NIDA-QFD developed a cassava peeling machine design that is efficient and minimizes risk. Alternative 3 was chosen, with user body dimensions (height 110-180 cm), using sturdy materials (steel angle profile, stainless steel plate), and having 5 peeling rolls (diameter 80 mm, length 910 mm) for an effective and efficient stripping process. The 220 volt 1/2 PK AC drive system ensures the roll rotates with optimal speed and torque. The cassava skin remover is made of stainless steel which is rust-resistant and easy to clean, so it is feasible to overcome the problem of manual peeling of cassava and opportunities for progress in the cassava chips industry.

Abstract

Indonesia's manufacturing sector, which accounts for 18.67% of GDP, faces major challenges in terms of innovation and poverty. PT. XYZ, which produces automotive components using the Injection process, needs to improve product quality to reduce defects in the front cover panel. This study aims to overcome these problems by improving the cooling system, controlling machine parameters, and maintaining material viscosity, while ensuring quality standards through regular maintenance and training. This study uses the DMAIC approach to analyze product quality. Starting with a Baseline to assess Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and quality ratios, variations in DPMO and quality factors were found. The Define phase identifies key defects, Measure shows improvements over time, Analyzes using Fault Tree Analysis to find solutions, Improves implementation of improvements, and Controls the incorporation of machine parameters to maintain consistency and quality. The research results show large variations in Quality Ratio and Availability, indicating the need to improve OEE which currently ranges from 82.80% to 92.60%. With a total annual production of 345,842 units and 20,538 defective units, the focus of improvements should be on engine and cooling system parameters. This research enriches understanding of product quality models and analysis.

Abstract

PT. Mandiri Jogja Internasional, a manufacturer of leather bags, shoes and wallets, is facing challenges in supply chain and production management. However, there is a need to explore more human and environmental contributions and integrate preventive measures in holistic production management. This study aims to identify, prioritize and prevent supply chain risks. The research procedure uses the House OF Risk (HOR) model in two phases to prioritize and address risk agents based on ARP values and calculate Total Effectiveness with related calculations to determine rosk mitigation priorities. The HOR 1 study states the process of activities and risks in the supply chain of various events, such as material calculation errors, machine breakdowns, and raw material scarcity. The HOR 2 study with findings includes preventive measures, communication strategies, inventory management, production evaluation, ergonomics, supplier sourcing, and equipment maintenance. This study establishes risk priorities, designs effective countermeasures, and encourages the integration of new technologies in production risk management

Abstract

Food, especially eggs, is essential and increasingly demanded in Indonesia. High egg consumption in Sumbawa boosts distribution needs, necessitating in-depth ergonomic research to reduce musculoskeletal pain risks for workers. Identifying workload and ergonomic risks is crucial in material handling studies. With %CVL ranging from 14.8%-27.1%, the design of egg-lifting tools and value engineering methodologies are required for cost optimization and safety. This study designs and evaluates ergonomic aids for egg transportation. The quantitative research at UD. Saudaraku, Sumbawa, employs %CVL > 22% and value engineering methods to design ergonomic egg transport tools. The sample includes three workers with a pulse rate > 170 bpm, with measurements taken using a pulse oximeter and MSDs questionnaires. The study identifies issues with manual methods and heavy loads in egg handling, causing fatigue and pain in 100% of workers. Evaluation reveals cardiovascular fatigue risks with %CVL between 32.7%-34.4%. The ergonomic tool design enhances efficiency, reduces physical complaints, and supports worker productivity and well-being.
