Abstract

The total suspended solids in the river flow are the source of the sedimentation process, which will lead to the river mouth, namely the coast, which will experience this process on an ongoing basis. In this research, the case study investigated is the flow from the Blega River, which carries the total suspended solids to the coast of Sampang Regency, Madura, where the suspended solids will dissolve in the Sampang coastal waters to the Madura Strait. The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze whether the accumulation of suspended solids is more towards the east or west of the coast of Sampang so that later it can be done to forecast changes in the coastline of the coast. The method used in this research is to utilize remote sensing technology using satellite image data. The results obtained from the measurement of total suspended solids with Aqua MODIS satellite image data in March 2022 showed that more sediment was accumulated in the western part of the coast, so from this phenomenon, it can be predicted that the western coast approaching Bangkalan district will receive sedimentation contributions which will affect the coastline of Bangkalan district in the future. It can also be concluded that the reflectance data of satellite imagery can be used to create an algorithm for the distribution of total suspended solids in sloping coastal areas such as the coast of Sampang, Madura.

Abstract

The home industry ABC daily produces cassava, yams, and tempeh chips. From preliminary observations, information is obtained that enables determining the composition of the number of units for each type of chip produced and determining the selling price of the product per unit, which is carried out based on experience while running the business. Therefore, there is no ideal way to define it. This condition requires a review of the company's profit to determine whether it is optimal or not. This research aims to determine the number of production units of each type of chip to obtain maximum profit and the efficiency of using cost and time resources. Data collection was carried out by observation and interviews. The mathematical model of the research problem is a linear program problem with three variables that can be solved by the simplex method. From the results of the data analysis, it was concluded that to obtain maximum profit. The company had to produce 74 units of cassava chips and 161 units of cassava chips without producing tempeh chips. The maximum profit is IDR 285.387 (previously IDR 247. 000), the production capital is IDR 889.613 (previously IDR 928.000) and all available time has been consumed.

Abstract

The most common lifestyle change during the Covid-19 pandemic is an increase in people's purchasing power. The strategy that sellers need to pay attention to is product placement. Product placement in stores on a small or large scale is one of the strategies that can affect consumer purchasing decisions. One supermarket in Surabaya experienced an increase in transactions during the pandemic, but there are some products whose sales are not as high as other products due to product placement that is not by the type or function so that when customers want to buy products they have to look for them first, this is not uncommon. customers do not shop or buy products which result in lower transactions and lower supermarket profits. So this research was conducted to provide recommendations for product placement in a layout that suits consumers' wishes, grouping products based on consumer buying habits, and reduce search time. This research was conducted using the Market Basket Analysis (MBA) method. From the results, there are 19 rules which indicate that some products will be purchased if placed close to other products with a 100% confidence level.

Abstract

A mining company is a company engaged in the gold mining industry that implements an open-pit mining system. In carrying out mining operations, not all activities will always run smoothly. Based on incident trend data in mining companies, there are still a large number of incidents that occur in mining operational activities each year which result in property damage, minor injuries to workers, serious injuries to workers, occupational diseases, loss of working days, and losses to workers. company. The causes of work accidents are divided into several causes, namely, basic causes, indirect causes, and direct causes. The mining operations of mining companies are not free from hazards and work risks that can occur at any time in the mining work environment, especially in the work area in the pit main ridge. The main ridge pit work area is the main location for gold mining operations for mining companies which are now actively operating for many mining activities such as drilling, blasting, surveying, loading, and hauling activities where the condition of this work area has a relatively high level of danger and risk, by because it is necessary to analyze Occupational Health and Safety using the HIRARC method or identify potential hazards in the pit main ridge work area, then carry out an existing risk assessment to determine a control plan that is suitable for the conditions in the pit main ridge work area.

Abstract

PT XYZ is the largest shipbuilding company in Indonesia. The company's products are shipbuilding and ship design based on consumer demand. In the production process of the BRS W-303 ship, defects were still found during welding, such as incomplete penetration and slag inclusion. The purpose of this study was to determine the percentage of the most dominant defects and the factors causing defects and to provide suggestions for improving the quality of welding. The methods used are Statistical Quality Control (SQC) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA). SQC tools are check sheets, stratification, scatter diagrams, attribute control charts, and cause and effect diagrams. Then continue the FMEA analysis based on the cause-and-effect diagram for proposed improvements. Based on the results of Statistical Quality Control (SQC) research, it is known that the most dominant ship welding defects are incomplete penetration (32.81%) and slag inclusion (23.26%). Based on the results of research on Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) it is known that the root cause of the highest problem with RPN 288 is the determination of the root gap is too small or narrow. Recommendations for improvement that can be proposed are to ensure that the welder must read and understand the WPS used to weld correctly.

Abstract

Performance rating is one of the work processes in which the process is identified, starting with the need for training and education, assigning people to jobs they can master, and maintaining fairness in salaries, benefits, promotions, recruitment, and dismissals. One of the soap production companies in Surabaya has several divisions in the division of its work process. The packaging section is the part that has the most employees in its operation, and its process requires more human labour. So that the work rhythm in the packaging section is considered very dense. As a result of these conditions, some workers feel complaints such as easy body aches, back pain, reduced concentration, and quick tiredness, which affects performance. In addition, some workers feel more unemployed than doing work. This study aims to determine the performance rating of the operators in the packaging division to maximize employee working time. The results show that the highest performance rating value for each operator is in the sorting, wrap, and packaging tasks section, with a performance rating value of 1.11 compared to other tasks.

Abstract

Food safety is one of the important factors in the implementation of the food system that must be followed because it can affect the degree of public health. The main purpose of food safety is to prevent foods from being contaminated by foreign substances, both physical, biological, and chemical so as to reduce the potential for food hazards. One method of implementing food safety on an industrial scale is by controlling the manufacturing process through a food safety management system in the form of implementing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). In Indonesia, GMP for the food industry are regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia Number 75/M-IND/PER/7/2010. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of GMP in CV “XYZ”. The research method used is observation and interviews of 18 aspects of GMP which are applied in CV “XYZ”. The results showed that of the 136 total sub-aspects of GMP implementation that were observed, 101 sub-aspects were suitable and 35 sub-aspects were not. The percentage on the appropriate aspects is 74.26% and the aspects that are not appropriate are 25.74%. The lowest level of conformity is found in the following aspects: implementation of the guidelines (0%); final product (33.33%); and sanitation facilities (47.62%). These results indicate that the GMP applied by CV “XYZ” still needs to be adjusted to the applicable regulations.

Abstract

The simple organic waste processing in this journal is a follow-up to the previous activities. By using a concise method that did not take up land, the people of Gebang Putih Village have been able to process simple organic waste into ready-to-use compost. The method used in making ready-to-use compost was to stack brown and green waste in layers and then doused it with two variations of bio-activators, i.e., leri water (rice washing water) and EM4. After the 18th day, the resulting fertilizer showed dry characteristics, odorless, and had a neutral pH. An interesting result in this study was that the compost with the addition of leri water (pH=7) began to decompose on the 9th day. However, in the compost with the addition of EM4, on the 6th day, the compost had decomposed evenly. However, the final results of the compost produced proved that leri water was quite effective as an alternative bio-activator, a substitute for EM4.
