Abstract

ISLAMIC EDUCATION BASED ON MULTI-CULTURALISM . The goal of Islamic education is always in line with the objectives of Islam. The Mission of Islam as a mercy for the worlds, will be realized when the Muslims are able to apply the Islamic teaching properly. Islamic education is a media for Muslims to be able to embody the essence of his creation, as abid and khalifah in this world. On the other hand, the diversity of man is an inevitability of life is always there. Diversity, which in this context is often termed as multicultural, is often being the womb of the emergence of problems and social conflict between human being. This is where the function of the Islamic education plays its role in order to equip the students with multicultural attitudes and awareness.

Abstract

MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS USING INCLUSION MODEL IN ISLAMIC EDUCATION. Education is a right of all citizens regardless of social status, race, ethnicity, tribe, nation, including children with disabilities. Thus, these children also have the same rights as children in general on the occasion of viable, appropriate and dignified education. In fact children with disabilities cannot take education freely because not all of the existing school could serve them because of the classical reasons. The Schoolproviding education for these children is still appreciative and ironic that needs a struggle to become democratic education. Ideally with integrated education, children with disabilities can be served in schools wherever they want, including choosing a school in Islamic school. This would be an option for them since both parents and students with disabilities require touches with regard to awareness, faith, and sincerity. The religious approach became a highly influential part in all conditions and situations faced by humanity, because in fact the man will always be united with his Lord through the development of spirituality.

Abstract

MULTICULTURALISM IN ISLAMIC EDUCATION SYSTEM: PROBLEMS OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS. Education aimed at shaping attitudes and behavior towards the civilized man. An education system that only emphasizes the transfer of knowledge, making education is no longer meaningful and a positive effect on learners. Education is not touching the side of humanism that develops an attitude of pluralism as a foundation of multiculturalisms thought. Model of religious education would only create learners abdullah which are only godly individually. Understanding pluralism and multiculturalism has become a commodity in politics that will continue to roll in the realm of national education including Islamic religious education which is an integral part of the national education system. The governments policy regarding the application of curriculum of KTSP which necessitates the provision of education oriented to potential of regional and local cultural values. This policy can not be separated from the awareness of the figures and leaders of this country that the Indonesian nation is very diverse and heterogeneous. Therefore, it is impossible to build this country withot considering of the values of plurality and multicultural in society.

Abstract

MULTICULTURAL ISLAM: LESSONS, OBJECTIVES, AND DIVERSITY IN ISLAM. Multiculturalism is a major challenge faced by religions in todays world, given any real religion emerged from the religious and cultural plurality. Indonesia has one of the worlds most multicultural prularis and even for the country consists of distinct ethnic, linguistic, religious, cultural, culture, and so forth. The diversity of culture is encapsulated in the motto Unity in Diversity, which means even different but still one. In the socio-historical, the presence of Islam in Indonesia can not be separated from a multicultural context as can be read in the history of Islam in the archipelago brought by Walisongo. Furthermore, making Islam multicultural topics or discourse is interesting and needs to be widely disseminated. This is at least three reasons. First, the circumstances of conflict. In the midst of circumstances that often conflict, multicultural Islam requires the establishment of the Islamic community who love peace, harmony and tolerance. Therefore, the goal to create and promote the establishment of the situation and the conditions of peace, order and harmony became an important agenda for the people of the world, including Indonesia. Second, the reality that diversity. The religions diversity, ethnic, ethnicity, and language becomes imperative to be addressed by all parties, especially the Muslim community in Indonesia. Therefore, social responsibility is not only on the government but also religious. In other words, peace-conflict societies also rely on contributions creation of a peaceful religious people, including the Muslims in this country. Robert N. Bellah, a sociologist of religion from the United States, said that through the Prophet Muhammad in Arabia, Islam has become a huge multicultural civilization, mighty and awesome to sur pass the greatness of the country the birth of Islam, the Arabian Peninsula. In this context, tolerance and mutual respect for religious differences, as revealed Wilfred Cantwell Smith, needs to be maintained and cultivated. Third, religious norms. As a noble teachings of religion would be a strong foundation for the clergy in general to create conditions so that no profanity. In this case, religious inter pretations is not expected based solely on the text, but also the context of that text can be captured according mean age meaning.
