This study experimented in the use of classroom lay-out, its effectiveness inside the classroom, and its preference for its location. Classroom lay-out involves the learners, their seat locations, and the teacher’s preferences. It used the qualitative inquiry with the phenomenology approach in interpreting the results from the students’ responses. Total enumeration sampling was used where all the students in the Senior high school of Irisan National High School were part of the data gathering respondents. Responses to queries were collected through interviews with the respondents. Results showed that the learners would prefer the teacher to identify where they are to be seated instead of them choosing their own seats. Classroom lay-out might entail an effective strategy to boost the academic performance of a learner, especially in the researcher’s classes in terms of self-assessment and showing of authority. However the learners think of assessing themselves in terms of their seat location and the classroom lay-out, they still see the teacher as the one in authority in leading the effectiveness of the classroom lay-out.

This research is qualitative research with the type of case study to describe the implementation of e-learning based on HOTS in higher education. E-learning is a necessity that must be used by lecturers when teaching at universities, especially during the current pandemic. The learning must be based on HOTS as the demands of the industrial revolution 4.0 and society 5.0, to produce prospective teachers who can guide their students to have the ability to solve problems in life. The research subjects were 196 people who took the Philosophy of Science course at the PPKN PIPS FKIP Study Program, Mataram University. Data were collected through observation techniques, interview documentation, and tests. After conducting a holistic and specific qualitative analysis, the results show that HOTS-based e-learning is carried out through the stages of preparation for the implementation of learning and evaluation for 16 learning activities. The contents of the activities include discussion of textual material, independent contextual exercises, and completing exams. During the activity, lecturers and students gave positive responses to various supporting factors and existing challenges. This activity has an impact on the acquisition of positive student learning outcomes. As a follow-up suggestion, full vigilance is needed to seek more varied activities to be actively involved in learning activities and successfully pass lectures.

This study was conducted to determine students’ experiences, reactions and opinions on bullying. It used a descriptive research design wherein students’ experiences, reactions and opinions were gathered through survey questionnaires. Purposive sampling technique was employed using snowball sampling technique. Online survey questionnaire was sent to the selected students via messenger. These students forwarded the online survey questionnaire to those students who they thought potential respondents of the study via messenger too. Finding revealed that Esperanza National High School has maintained a healthy school environment suited to the different types of learners since the bullying was less evident in the school. Occasional occurrence of bullying in the school prompted the students to rarely report the incidence to the concerned people. Students very seldom experienced the bullying from the people they frequently engaged and communicated. They normally responded to the minor incidence of bullying they experienced from the school or at home. They believed that bullying has a less extent of effect on their personal development. It is, indeed, recommended that Esperanza National High School should sustain building a positive school environment and should maintain the zero tolerance of any bullying incidence in the school.

The language of the humankind is linked to the creation of meaning and expressions of human behaviors and emotions. Language is said to manipulate and persuade people’s perception of ‘reality’ (Holmes, 2013). The reality—social and linguistic landscapes— that people construct is affected by the linguistic choices members of the community make. This research investigated the possibility of a Meranaw uniform orthography in terms of the word spelling and symbols by examining the varieties of the language in terms of its lexicons. Understanding varieties can unlock answers questions regarding variety’s causes and its contribution to the development of the language in terms of orthography—which can actually help Meranaw writers extend studies on other components of the language. These factors contributed to the direction of this paper as it attempted to investigate the sprouting of the varieties and its lexical changes. The findings of the study revealed that even though there were Meranaw lexical variants, it does not hinder the communication to be effective. The paper also showed that Meranaw lexical variants are mutually intelligible among the surveyed Meranaw communities. Mutual intelligibility suggests that language is convention--- meaning that even if there are varieties, the Meranaw language itself serve as a unifying link in keeping a society intact. The Meranaw language brings together one culture and its usage is a means to express community’s style in an effort to create a social reality. This reality allows them to express their thoughts and ideas through their language

The development of Industrial Revolution 4.0 has implications for all areas, including education. One of the emerging indicators is the application of the independent learning curriculum. Every human being has the right to learn wherever and whenever this is in accordance with the conceptual application of the curriculum. This research aims to develop an integrated social science learning model between faculties/universities that will be used to succeed in the independent learning curriculum at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Medan State University (FIS Unimed). The research is research and development in the field of education that uses data collection techniques using documentation studies, interviews, and workshops, the data sources used are lecturers and students of FIS Unimed. The research stage refers to the R&D research stage (Gall, Borg, & Gall,) [5], the stages performed include: 1) Research Planning 2) Subject Determination Model 3) Preparing Learning Tools for Model 4 Courses)) Input Course Content into LMS 5) Testing (simulation) and evaluation of Content 6) Follow-up improvements 7) Dissemination. The results of the analysis show that the development of model courses as part of the integrated social science learning model across faculties/universities in preparation for independent learning in FIS Unimed based on 4 criteria for learning models, namely 1)field-based learning in the Anthropology education Study Program 2) practice-based learning in the Geography Education Study Program 3) seminar-based learning in the Historical Education Study Program and 4) attitude-based learning in the Civic Education Study Program is very practical. The average practicality score of this model is based on students 'and lecturers' responses was 85, which categorized as very practical. Thus, the learning model course that has been developed will be used as a prototype for other courses at FIS Unimed in the framework of implementing the curriculum for independent learning in the future.
