Abstract

This study delves into educators' motivations and challenges leaving the Department of Education (DepEd) for overseas opportunities. The researchers used descriptive qualitative in conducting the study. Based on the findings, it emerges that both emotional and practical considerations influence teachers' decisions to migrate. Foremost among the concerns is the desire for financial stability, contrasted by their deep emotional connection to students and the local education system. Other significant challenges include the need for comprehensive health and well-being provisions, operational efficiency, professional development, and an inclusive work environment. The study underscores the pressing need for reforms within DepEd, emphasizing competitive compensation, streamlined operations, continuous professional growth, and robust health provisions. It was recommended that the Department of Education (DepEd) must prioritize educators' financial and holistic well-being through competitive salaries and regular professional development opportunities. Streamlined administrative processes, proper resource allocation, and integration of global educational insights will foster a more efficient and appealing environment for educators.

Abstract

The spark of the October revolution in Iraq ignited on the first day of October and persisted for forty days, interrupted only by religious occasions. It regained momentum on October 25, 2019, continuing as a significant sociopolitical event. From its inception, the revolution faced suppression by the Iraqi government, with the use of tear gas, live weapons, and hunting weapons against protesters. The Iraqi revolution captured global media attention, becoming a focal point of coverage worldwide. This research paper employs Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) using Teun van Dijk's Socio-Cognitive Model to investigate how The New York Times represents the Iraqi protests in its headlines. Data is collected from The New York Times' official website, with a focus on headlines related to the Iraqi demonstrations from October 2019 to the present time. The analysis comprises two levels: Micro Level Analysis scrutinizes linguistic features, while Macro Level Analysis explores broader sociocultural and cognitive contexts. The research aims to answer questions regarding the portrayal of the protests, linguistic strategies employed, framing of actors, and reflections of social and cognitive contexts. The study acknowledges limitations, including the exclusive use of headlines and the scope limited to The New York Times. However, the research contributes valuable insights into media discourse, biases, power dynamics, and the influence of language on shaping public understanding of complex sociopolitical events. The findings have implications for media studies and communication research, prompting critical engagement with media representations and the potential impact on public perceptions and discourses.

This research and development uses the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) and the product is Moodle-based Übungtest Schreiben that consists of a module, Schreibübungen, and Schreibtest/Modelltest for PASCH students at SMA Negeri 1 Malang. The type of data in this development is qualitative data and supported by quantitative data. Qualitative data is obtained in the analysis, design, development, and evaluation phases with a logbook and a questionnaire for material validation and the data is analyzed using the descriptive analysis technique. Quantitative data is obtained through the adequacy test in the implementation stage and the effectiveness test of Übungtest Schreiben. Based on the results of the material validation, test, and student questionnaires, LMS-based Übungtest Schreiben is very adequate and effective as a digital learning media to improve writing skills.

Abstract

In this research, we examine environmental education in the context of Moroccan secondary schools, focusing on the field of physics teaching. Our investigation is based on an analysis of empirical observations provided by physics teachers. To this end, a structured questionnaire was administered to 120 physics teachers from various high schools located in the academic area of Fez-Meknes in Morocco. The results clearly underline the importance of assimilating environmental education principles in the teaching of physics. This environmental education clearly favors the cultivation of students' inclination and disposition towards the subject. In addition, the questionnaire data also provide enlightening indications in favor of integrating environmental education paradigms into the didactic apparatus of physics-related knowledge in secondary education. This integration promises to develop sustainable skills in students, galvanizing their capacity to adopt environmentally friendly behaviors.

Abstract

This paper gives a critical review of studies centered on nurturing teachers’ dispositions, which is a pivotal role to teacher educators when executing teacher preparation programs and teacher development. Basing on experiential evidence, pre-service teachers are said to have higher expectations during their enrollment into the teaching program on the goals to achieve and the kind of teacher they wish to be. However, during the process of learning to teach they usually face “reality shock” especially during their teaching practice where they are exposed to the actual school and classroom environment. The challenges encountered during teaching practice are said to have negative impact on their beliefs about the career which lowers their self-efficacy, hence leading to job attrition for some of them. The studies discuss issues related to theory and practice in preparing student teachers from their pre-service teaching to beginning teachers heading to their on job professional development. Teaching profession is not that much smooth and easy task but a complex and dynamic task of knowing the learners’ expectations, differences and backgrounds and facilitating learning to suit the community’s context. Thus, student teachers require well informed and careful training and ongoing professional development which will enhance their beliefs, self-efficacy and identities and make teaching a productive endeavor.

Abstract

In the development of universities, disciplines carry many functions, such as personnel training, scientific research and social services. All kinds of organizations and activities of universities are centered on disciplines and developed around the development of disciplines. As an industrial university, the discipline characteristics are accumulated in the long-term history of running a school, and also created in the service of economic and social development, which is different from other universities. Based on the analysis of the influencing factors of discipline development in industrial universities, this paper holds that industrial universities should persist in optimizing discipline layout, concise discipline direction, take the road of characteristic development and win by comparison, which is also the only way to build a "double-first-class" world-class university.

Abstract

According to female perspective the male mentality about them in culture, is the mentality based on narcissism, which is a social reality. On this basis, we can also study languages that, according to women perspective or feminist theory, retain their gender and differentiate between word meanings and grammatical rules based on gender. In these languages, there used to be Avestian and Persian, which now leaves behind gender in the language. now it is Pashto, which still retains gender and differentiates linguistic rules and trends based on gender. In Pashto, gender is dominated by two areas: One in independent concepts and the other in grammatical variations. In Pashto, there is a gender difference in the price of nouns, adjectives, numbers, and adverbs, as well as in the case of verb descriptions. However, in all these contexts, the source is masculinity, from which the feminine derives, so there are two ways: from the most common masculine to feminine.
