Abstract

Several causal factors to students’ low achievement are among others density and large coverage of social science learning matterials (consisting of history, sociology, economics, and geography), students’ lack of learning skills, and teacher’s inadequate method of teaching. The problem of students’ low achievement on social science subject also occurred at SMP Negeri 5 Kendari. This study applied classroom action research method with cyclical model. The data were collected by means of observation and achievement testing techniques. The data were then analysed by means of interactive model from Milles and Hubberman. On the basis of testing and learning reflection results, it was showed that (a) the use of make a match strategy really improved students’ learning achievement on social science; (b) It really improved students’ active participation during the teaching and learning process; (3) The number of students who achieved marks above the minimal efficacy mark criterion was above 85%; and (4) The students showed their positive perception towards their learning activities under make a match strategy.

Abstract

To achieve maximum learning outcomes, teachers must be able to apply various learning models and use appropriate learning media. This class action research in 2 cycles aims to determine the increase in student interest and learning outcomes in learning rhythmic gymnastics using Sekawat media for class VII D students of SMP Negeri 2 Pakem Special Region Yogyakarta SMP. Methods of data collection by observation, tests, questionnaires, documentation, and field notes. The data analysis used was descriptive qualitative to describe student interest and descriptive quantitative to describe student learning outcomes. The results showed that the use of Sekawat media can increase students' interest in learning rhythmic gymnastics from 58% to 88% at the end of the action and can increase student learning outcomes from an average of 20% in the pre-cycle to 85.7% at the end of the action.

Abstract

Learning activities in schools must include strengthening literacy and numeracy, including Physical Education of Sports and Health (PESH) subjects. Because Indonesia is currently experiencing the Covid-19 pandemic, learning activities in schools are carried out online. One of the PESH materials is a small-ball game, namely ‘kasti’. Learning small-ball games at 1 Losari public elementary school only uses picture and theory material that is sent to students so that student learning outcomes are not optimal. In this Classroom Action Research, a learning media was made to improve learning outcomes, namely the ‘kasti’ learning video. The subjects of the research were the students of class VI 1 Losari public elementary schoolfor the academic year 2020/2021 totaling 23 students. Data collection techniques using tests and observations. As an assessment instrument, namely the observation sheet. The results of his research showed an increase in learning outcomes. This is indicated by an increase in students’ abilities in performance and the results of the basic motion of the baseball game. In addition, learning activities also strengthen students' literacy and numeracy.

Abstract

This research aims to know the improvement of students comprehension skills who are taught using the quided discovery learning approach with PhET simulaion media, the ordinary learning. Next, find out whether there is a significant interaction between the learning approach and the level of mathematical ability to increase the ability to understand mathematics and see how the character strengthening is seen in the experimental class. The research method used is a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The results of data analysis showed that the increase in students understanding abilities taught by using the quided discovery learning approach with the help of PhET simulation media was not higher than the quided discovery learning approach without PhET Simulation. However, the increase in students understanding ability is taught using a quided discovery learning approach with the help of PhET simulation media or without PhET, which is higher than the usual learning approach. Furthermore, there is a significant interaction between the learning approach and the level of mathematical ability to increase the ability to understand mathematics with a value of Fcount = 5.671>Ftable = F(4.774) = 2.37 or sig = 0.000 <0.05. Finally, there is character strengthening in the experimental class.

Abstract

Children who have dyscalculia (difficulty in counting), learning mathematics results are lower than normal children. A learning design is needed that can facilitate their difficulties. This study aims to develop Local Instructional Theory (LIT) with the topic of adding whole numbers. LIT consists of a set of Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT), Learning Implementation Plans (RPP) and Student Worksheets (LKPD). This development uses the Gravemeijer and Cobb model which consists of three stages, namely research preparation, classroom research, and review analysis. Data was collected by means of observation, interviews, document analysis, video documentation and tests and then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that the LIT product based on Realistic Mathematical Education (RME) for dyscalculia students was in a very valid and practical category with a score of 86.00 and could improve students' problem solving abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of dynamic rotation media that is valid, practical, effective, and how this media can develop numeracy literacy. The media was applied to class IX students consisting of 22 students. Media development uses research and development methods (Research and Development) with a 4D model, which stands of Define, Design, Development and Dissemination. It is known that the results of the validity test from material experts are 3.04 and from media experts are 3.05, meaning that the developed media is valid for use. For the practicality test, it is obtained at 3.3 which indicate that the media used is practical. From the effectiveness test, it was obtained that the average value of the numeracy literacy test was 84.16 and the classical completeness was 100% which had met the effectiveness criteria. After the application of this media resulted in the numeracy literacy ability reaching an average of 75.57 and classical learning completeness data of 86.36%, the student response questionnaire with a score of 3.27 which indicates a positive category. Based on the validity test, practicality test, and effectiveness test, the dynamic rotation media met the criteria of being valid, practical, and effective. The media used in the learning process shows that dynamic rotation media can improve numeracy literacy skills in transformation learning.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the increasing of student literacy by using Padlet in reviewing books. This is because there are only a few students who want to read books, and they also don’t want students to make book reviews because the form of the review is the Y Chart, Ishikawa Fishbone and AIH Paragraph. Reading is a basic literacy that must be developed to master other literacy so that this literacy must be mastered well. This research conducted in class 6A the elementary School of 2 Kota Kulon as many as 29 students. The research approach used is a qualitative approach where data collection is done through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. Techniques and data analysis were carried out through data collection, data presentation, data reduction, and drawing conclusions. The results of the interview stated that Padlet is a medium that can improve student literacy. From the observations obtained data that the activity of student in literacy has increased. The conclusion of this research is that Padlet can improve student literacy in reviewing books.

Abstract

Language competence consists of four competences to master it. The four competences are speaking, listening, writing, and reading. Speaking can be done spontaneously, but writing must be planned and organized. The purpose of this study is to design an applicable android operation-based learning media to help pupils develop their English writing proficiency. This study uses the Research and Development approach which was acclimated in the development of the ADDIE model. The experimenter designed a education media called "Learn English Better". This education media has been validated by media experts and material experts before being tried out on pupils. The data collection instruments used were questionnaires and interviews. The results of media validation attained a value of 84,6, for material validation a value of 76,36 was attained, and the results of the implementation of this media attained a value of 73,2. Based on the results over, the experimenter concludes that the Learn English Better android operation is suitable to develop English writing proficiency in SMA Negeri Jombang.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce social studies e-modules based on literacy and socio-cultural changes during the Covid 19 pandemic. The background for developing e-modules is the lack of learning media used independently by students when learning online. The development method used is the Research & Development Method from Borg, W.R & Gall. This method is modified according to need into seven stages. The research subject is e-module which is tested from material, language and graphic elements by experts, teachers and students. The test results obtained a score of 81.7 (good, needs partial revision), 91.6 (very good, does not need revision), and 91.9 (very good, does not need revision). The average score is 88.4 (very good), which means that it is worthy of being used as reading material if it refers to bookkeeping standards. Improvements are still made based on input during the trial, before being widely disseminated and implemented. The resulting e-module has limitations that need to be developed further, especially on the themes or backgrounds studied in social studies subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the solving problems skills of Elementary School students in learning numeracy, using 'Brankas Rahasia' as learning media. This learning media is used to display numeracy questions attractively. Problem solving using computational thinking methods. This type of research is the development of the Hannafin and Peck model which consists of three steps, (1) needs analysis, (2) design, and (3) development. The data collection technique used was a written test. The data collection tool used is an online written test instrument. The data analysis used is quantitative data analysis. The results showed that the ‘Brankas Rahasia’ learning media can improve students' ability in abstracting skills (45%), generalization skills (65%), decomposition abilities (80%), and algorithm skills (95%). This shows that students' ability to solve problems by thinking computationally is good.
