ISSN : 20399340     EISSN : 20392117     DOI : 10.36941/mjss
The use of waste as an additional material on the building work was increasingly actively developed, such as straw, styrofoam, bagasse, cow manure. The key drivers of the use of waste is the potential for waste is increasing, due to the depletion of non-renewable resources. Papyrus rod diameter 60 cm, length 30 meters, has a volume of 5,652m3 as well as the edges of the Rods that can be used for construction with a thickness of 3 cm has a volume 0,942m3, Pith and fiber volume content of the stem 4,71m3/rod, then in one rod, there are 2 to 3 bunches each fruit bunches yield as much as 20 to 30 items for one harvest, by weight of fruit fiber 101.2 gram / fruit, Fiber characteristics are round and smooth is expected to reduce cracks in solid concrete brick and also can reduce the use of sand. This study aims to determine the compressive strength of the composition of the additional material of Rods fiber content and Fiber of palmyra fruit with a percentage 3%, 6% and 9%, mixing ratio; 1 cement and 5 sand in the manufacture of solid concrete brick. Rods fiber content used the average Ø1,031mm with a tensile strength of single fiber 39,305N / cm and fruit fiber to an average value Ø0,40mm with a tensile strength of single fiber 33,691N / cm. Making test specimen with a length of 20cm, width 10cm and thick 8cm. The test results of compressive strength after 14 days with the lowest value at 3% of additional material combination of fiber content of 6% fiber stem and fruit by 70,384Kg/cm²with a water content of 15,254% In weight position 2,935Kg as well as the highest value on the combination of additional material 0% rods fiber content and 3% fruit fiber by 98,821Kg/cm² with a water content of 15,031% In weight position 3,058Kg. While N (without additional material) with a compressive strength below the average id 63,704Kg/cm2 with water content of 10,167 in weight position 3,072Kg. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of child abuse and self-esteem on bullying perpetration among secondary school students in Ile-Ife, Osun State. A multi-stage sampling technique was used to select 324 participants. They responded to the child abuse questionnaire, the Rosenberg self-esteem scale and the Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument. Findings revealed that self-esteem did not predict the three forms of bullying. The experience of physical and emotional childhood abuse predicted verbal, social and physical bullying, while sexual childhood abuse predicted social and physical bullying. Based on these results, it was recommended that parents should be conscious of corporal punishment and other activities that could lead or reflect as abuse and neglect on their children. Abstract

The judiciary of china and its degree of independence is the vital theme of intellectual discourse not only among the western jurists but also among Chinese intellect as the judiciary of China is randomly criticized by the westerns for not upholding the actual independence. In fact, the Chinese authority never explores concentration to admit and implement the western concept of the independent judiciary rather they have attempted to build a strong and independent adjudication system with unique Chinese characteristics. Hence, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has declared and implemented various reforms initiative and plays a momentous role to execute all reforms plan properly. This paper, largely, endeavors to address the understanding of judicial independence in China, ascertaining its glitches and deficiencies with the scheme of various rounds of reform policy as an extent of strengthening the impartial and independent adjudication system. The study finds that the competent authority devotes vast judicial reform agenda to improving the court management, appointing qualified judges through the comprehensive selection process, to eliminate internal interference from courts seniors and political leaders. Abstract

This study addresses the issue of sick candidates during end-of-year exams. Based on qualitative socio-anthropological work in reflection on the psychology of learning, it deals with the socio-anthropological factors that weaken the psychological well-being of teachers, regardless of the discipline, during the exams. The collection tools were individual interviews and the study took place at the Peleforo GON COULIBALY University of Korhogo from April 20 to June 30, 2021. It involved a total of 64 undergraduate students selected by the reasoned method. The results show that students who do not have family support or who do not come from a family with a health or educational culture succumb to the stress of exams and fall ill. According to some respondents, these illnesses are due to an unbalanced diet, lack of physical activity and sports, and insufficient rest during the exam period. Others suffer from the negative influence of spiritual forces in their environment. Also, it appears from the investigations that the failure of the psychological well-being of learners is linked to a lack of confidence in their skills. This crisis of self-confidence causes imbalances in their being; hence the need to introduce a personal development module (which can take into account stress and fear management) in the examination programs. Abstract

Bullying is inappropriate behaviour that children and adolescents face daily in schools all around the world. It is prevalent in today's schools and is commonly found in secondary schools. It is a complicated social problem that can have serious negative implications for both bullies and victims, especially when the victim is physically or psychologically harmed. Therefore, the study examines bullying and academic performance, in a study of selected secondary school students in Alimosho local government area, Lagos, Nigeria. A survey method was utilized using the structured questionnaire as an instrument of data collection. Utilizing a multi-stage random sampling, three hundred and fifty questionnaires were administered to students in the four secondary schools. Quantitative data were analyzed utilizing the descriptive statistics with the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23. The analysis of the questionnaire was based on descriptive analysis with the use of frequency counts and percentages. The study’s findings show a negative relationship between bullying and students’ academic performance. Result also shows that addiction to alcohol and loss of concentration is the major effect of bullying on students’ academic performance. This study recommends that teaching empathy and encouraging victims to make timely reports on the incidence of bullying are crucial to mitigating bullying and its consequences in secondary schools in Lagos state. Abstract

This descriptive qualitative study examined how food security was undermined during the covid-19 pandemic in some coastal fishing communities in Nigeria. The study used the Household Economic Approach as a theoretical basis to explain the challenges of food security in coastal communities based on evidence from the Covid-19 pandemic. Data were generated from open-ended interviews conducted with 30 participants in three coastal fishing communities in Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria. The study also relied on secondary data from books, reports, and journal articles. From the analysis, results showed that the various preventive measures adopted to curb the spread of the virus posed a challenge to fish production, access, and consumption. Furthermore, the findings revealed that in addition to other human security issues, covid-19 was a natural mechanism whose emergence only exacerbated existing food insecurity in coastal fishing communities. Based on the ongoing, the study concludes that, food security can be enhanced in coastal fishing communities through cross-sectorial partnerships and collaborations between the government, civil society groups and the blue economy. Abstract

The paper focuses on examining the implications of Political Thuggery on Electoral Process in Nigeria. Its general objective is to examine the effects of political thuggery or violence on electoral process with inferences from Nigeria; with specific objectives to i). Identify the implications of Political Thuggery to national security, and ii). proffer policy-based recommendations including implementation strategies to curbing the anomalies. The paper achieved its objectives by adopting qualitative descriptive method of analysis; its instruments of data collection included secondary sources --books, newspapers, journals, internet, and observations of the trend of political activities in Nigeria. For Indepth understanding of the discourse, the paper made extrapolations from three (3) relevant notions: the notions of Democratic Culture, Vested Interest, and Legitimation-crisis. In its investigation, relevant finding or outcome was made. The finding revealed that there is a positive correlation between Political Thuggery and Electoral Process --that is, the more political thuggery increases, the more electoral process anomalies increase too. The paper therefore concluded that, political thuggery has negative implications to national security. A few recommendations were proffered: 1. Salaries of political officers should be reduced to make political office less attractive, thus making politics no more a "do or die" affair; inter alia. Abstract

Although strategic planning relevance has its ups and downs, it has shown that it can always be a reference point to guide managers and management. This paper aims to clarify if the strategic planning pitfalls identified in the mid-90s still apply to today's reality. Also, to validate strategic planning's importance in society 5.0 while exploring its barriers from a dynamic capability’s perspective. A bibliometric analysis focused on strategic planning pitfalls and the use of indexed journals/citations to validate the study relevance. To achieve this purpose, this study performs a systematic literature review and content analysis of 68 articles from 37 journals. The main results of strategic planning research revealed: (1) The relevance of strategic planning in society 5.0, (2) the appliance of dynamic capabilities creating a defensive business model, and (3) the two essential dimensions which can impact most strategic planning, and (4) the new pitfalls in today’s context. Guided by dynamic capabilities theory, this paper seeks to promote insights related to the importance of strategic planning, adds value to the body of knowledge, and identifies contingency considerations that help explain the results on the relationship between strategic planning and the present context. Abstract

The pandemic experience from Covid-19 has heightened the awareness of the impact that relational poverty has on the quality of life, especially of older people’s lives. The obligation to stay inside their homes to protect them from the risk of infection has had the indirect effect of precipitating many elderly people into a state of solitude from which, at least in part, the city had been protecting them until then. The pandemic has shown how older citizens live the shortage of relationships and the solitude of housing as factors that can heavily affect the quality of their lives. But this difficult historical moment has been an opportunity to implement a series of projects dedicated to over 65 people so that they could be guaranteed a fullness of possibilities. Within them there is “CondiViviamo” activated in Bari (Italy) and focused on the possibility of realizing an experience of cohousing as an instrument to contrast the economic uneasiness and, above all, the relational poverty. The starting assumption is both to guarantee older people a better existential condition, and to make them protagonists of this process. The project, carried out in a multifactorial perspective, is initially aimed at a limited number of elderly subjects, but it has the secondary purpose of defining a model exportable to other cities in the same territory of Apulian region and even at national level. The analysis of the outcomes of the project will also be functional to the definition of future operational guidelines for public social policies. Abstract

The aim of the systematic review was to compile and synthesise evidence on the contributions and implications of girl-centric policies and specialised interventions for girls' education in terms of access and participation. The results of the review confirm that girls' education programmes designed and implemented in a gender-based framework are effective in increasing girls' access to education. The results support the hypothesis that gender-centric policies and affirmative action interventions are sincere attempts to improve equity within education systems in Malawi. Despite these findings, the article argues that gender-centric policies and programmes can be replete with unfounded and contradicting assumptions about the nature of gender and egalitarian programming, which may negate the agenda on gender equality. The article also contends that even though great progress has been made in developing and adopting gender-sensitive education policies, feminist approaches have complicated implementation of the resulting gender-sensitive educational interventions. One of the main challenges in implementing feminist frameworks is in resolving the unquestioned and inconsistent assumptions about gender and egalitarian programming that have led to replication of affirmative action programmes that are only marginally effective. From the emanating perspectives, the article opiniates that general restorative interventions can be better approaches for overcoming gender inequality, and thus argues that girl-centric frameworks are unsustainable and must be supplanted with gender-as-equity paradigms. Abstract

Subtlety is the only way wherein feminine rebellion can flourish and succeed in a male dominant society. This paper attempts to show that collaborative feminine effort leads to collective liberty and that Duffy (2002) pays homage to the feminist waves, especially the radical phase. The poet uses laughter as a metaphor to represent the feminist waves that were initially perceived as a joke but culminated in a force that ensured the emancipation of women. Although women’s desires are often repressed by the patriarchal machinery that seeks to oppress them, united action leads to liberation. Critics of Duffy have focused on her radical feminist and revisionist themes but this paper will also read the Laughter of Stafford Girls High (2002) as a homage to the various feminist waves that have contributed to women’s emancipation discourses globally. The paper draws from Wollstonecraft (1792) whose treatise A Vindication of the Rights of Woman exposed the triviality of women’s education and advocated for equality in learning. Although contemporary society enjoys parity in learning, several feminist critics like Howe (1977) and Hooks (1994) insist that there are still hidden messages within curriculums that tactfully ensure the marginal role of women. The absence of women in the canons gives the pervasive feeling that women have contributed nothing to human progress. The paper, therefore, aligns with the idea of feminine writing posited by Cixous (1976) as the only way through which women can write their unique history. From a reading of Duffy (2002) with the aforementioned theoretical leanings, it was realized that spaces of patriarchal brainwashing still abound despite the perceived progressive worldview. Equally, united action is important for the restitution of the rights of all women globally. Received: 7 September 2022 / Accepted: 27 October 2022 / Published: 5 November 2022
