Abstract

Innovation in education world is a nuance that must always be improved, considering that time goes with the changing of era. So in the field of education there has to be a special touch in the form of innovation which is able to become an educational identity as a space for freedom from backwardness. Education is now designed to return to the local wisdom of each region so that it can produce scholars with extensive knowledge and cultured character. Slempit Village is one of the villages in Gresik Regency with unique local culture and now has to get special attention for some of them are starting to get abandoned as modern access which is marked by the construction of the Gresik-Mojokerto toll road. Various elements of society have the same responsibility for cultural preservation and especially in the world of education which focuses directly on the inculcation of values towards the nation's next generations. Based on this, the researchers conducted the Development of Indonesian Language Pop Up Book Based on Slempitan Culture. The development process is carried out with a research method of development which then gives birth to a pop-up book which is effective and relevant to be applied in the learning process, especially at SDN I Slempit regarding local culture of Slempit. The development model is done by adapting instructional development model which, according to Sadiman, 1996 (et al) consists of seven systematic stages. This study used validation instruments from the data analysis. The validation of Slempitan Culture-Based Indonesian Pop-Up Book consists of presentation / material validator as well as graphic validator. The results of the validation of the presentation obtained a score of 90% in the very feasible category. While the score obtained from the results of the graphic is 90.9% in the excellent category.

Abstract

Development of instructional media for learning valid and effective video learning media as a learning resource for social studies learning in grade IV elementary school. The development of this instructional video media uses the ASSURE model which has 6 stages: (1) analysis of students, (2) determining learning objectives, (3) choosing methods, media and materials, (4) using media and materials, (5) encouraging participation students, (6) evaluation and improvement. The subject of the development of this instructional video media is Grade IV students of SDN Pakis V. The development of this video media is declared valid to be used in social studies learning in class IV. This is obtained from the results of the validation of media experts, material experts, individual students, small groups, large groups / classical. After testing the experts and testing the students then conducted trials aimed at learning effectiveness using this instructional video media. Test results obtained in the use of instructional video media show that students have succeeded in getting grades above the specified KKM. Thus it can be denied that this instructional video learning media is effective for use in the learning process. Keywords: media development, video learning, social studies.

Abstract

Choosing a suitable coursebook is not an easy task since coursebook is a key component in most language program. It serves as language input and language practice for learners. It provides the basis for content lesson, the skills taught and the variety of language practice for learner, it also serves as a supplement for teacher’s instruction. The variety of coursebook are available to use by teacher for their classroom. However, teacher need to know the strength and the weakness of the coursebook so that they can choose the best coursebook for their classroom. This study aimed to evaluate coursebook entitled Stairway: A Fun and Easy English Book for sixth grader of Elementary school. The evaluation using the list of criteria of coursebook from Cunningsworth. This study is qualitative descriptive since this study aimed to give the details information about a phenomenon in this case is the coursebook. The result of this study showed that the coursebook entitled Stairway: A Fun and Easy English Book is suitable to use with some adaptation. The result obtained from the suitability from the book with the criteria given. From 44 items of criteria, the book has suitability on 28 criteria or 63% suitability. Accordingly, the book can be used with some adaptation to minimize the weakness in the book. Keywords: ELT Coursebook, Evaluation, Suitability.

Abstract

Singiran is one of the art of vocal music in the form of poetry sung through a song, whether in Arabic or Javanese, which is very well known in traditional Javanese Islam. This study uses a qualitative approach by applying research concepts that are in accordance with the conditions in the field, in this case qualitative research which becomes an instrument or research tool is the research itself. Data collection techniques using document studies and field studies, namely interviews and observation. From the results of data collection it turns out that singir has been neglected by the community, and it turns out that singir has a very meaningful function for its supporters, namely the use of a number of singers in the learning of children's character. With the view of the function of singir art, educators, especially art, should be even more creative in innovation about education through art media. Keywords: singiran, learning media, student.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student mathematics learning outcomes on the topic of solid figure through the implementation of contextual approach. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) conducted in class VI B SDN 139 / V PKMT Taman Raja. Subjects in this study were 29 students. Students have difficulty in the process of abstraction of mathematical concepts and tend to be less motivated to learn. In applying the contextual approach, students are given problems that are often encountered in everyday life and collaborative learning. The results showed that students experienced an increase in mastery of concepts as indicated by an increase in the average score of 21.61 in the pre cycle, 57.47 in the first cycle, and 79.77 in the second cycle.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' abilities in finding points of thought. These efforts are carried out by applying the CIRC learning model. This research is a classroom action research conducted in class V-C SDN 004 / V Kuala Tungkal. The study was conducted in 2 cycles. There were 33 students who were the subjects in this study. The results showed a positive impact from the application of the CIRC model. This is indicated from the increase in the average student test score of 61.90 in the first cycle to 78.79 in the second cycle. In addition, the number of students who exceeded the minimum grade also increased, namely 51,52% (17 students) in the first cycle to 78,79 (26 students) in the second cycle.
