Abstract

The purpose of the research was determined the effect of using coconut water fermentation on physical quality of broiler meat.This research was conducted on March, 30th2018 at Production and Reproduction of Laboratory, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture University of Lampung.The materials of this research is used 20 pieces chest of broiler meat and coconut water fermentation. The experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 5 treatments and 4 replications.Treatment given in this research is P0 (without coconut water fermentation, P1 (coconut water fermentation 25%), P2 (coconut water fermentation 50%),P3 (coconut water fermentation 75%),and P4 (coconut water fermentation 100%). The observed variables is value of pH, water holding capacity (WHC), and cooking loss.The data obtained in this study was analyzed by using variance analysis (ANOVA), the results of which have significant effect on continued test using Least Significance Different (BNT). The results showed that use coconut water fermentationdid not significant effect (P>0,05) to WHC and cooking loss of broiler meat, but use coconut water fermentation at concentration 100% have significant effect on value of pH of broiler meat. The best value of broiler meat pH that is on treatment of P4 (coconut water fermentation 100%) with average value that is 5,599. Abstract

This research aims to know the influence of various media to grow toward moisture content, protein and fat maggot as feed and knowing the kind of media to grow the best influence on moisture content, protein and fat maggot as feed. This research was conducted in April 2017 until May 2017 in the Laboratory of Airy, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. Proksimat analysis was performed in the Laboratory of Nutrition and Food for Livestock, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of agriculture, University of Lampung. This study uses treatment of various places growing i.e. R1 (tofu waste), R2 (for cake oil palm), R3 (fish waste), and R4 (chicken blood). The experimental design was used, namely a complete Random Design (RAL) consists of four treatments and five replicates. Variables in this study i.e., moisture, protein, and fat maggot generated. Results of the study showed that treatment effect was not real (P>0.05) to moisture content, but very real effect (P<0.01) to the fat and protein content of maggot. The best media to grow maggot found in media of the chicken blood to the protein content and the media to grow of the fat content was fish waste. Keywords: maggot, media to grow, nutrition maggot

Abstract

Research held in Peranakan Etawa (PE) Goat's Farmers Group of Gedong Tataan, Pesawaran Regency Lampung on July--August 2017. It is purpose to know prevalence of Gastrointestinal Worms at Peranakan Etawa (PE) Goat in Farmers Group of Gedong Tataan, Pesawaran Regency Lampung. The research using the survey method. Sampling is done by proportional method. The number of samples obtained is 77 samples. Data was analyzed by descriptive analyzed. Faecal samples examination checked with Mc. Master and Sedimentation test at Balai Veteriner. The result showed that the prevalence of gastrointestinal worms at PE goat who maintained by farmer groups in Gedong Tataan about 85.71%. There are 66 PE goats positively infested gastrointestinal worms. Prevalence is the total number of individuals or percentage of the population infected with a disease in an area over a period of time. The highest prevalence is found in PE goat which is maintained by Sehati Jaya Farmer Group that is 88.24% , while the lowest prevalence is found in PE goat which is maintained by KWT Sekar Mawar farmer that is 72.73%. The type of Gastrointestinal worms that found in PE goats which is maintained by farmer groups in Gedong Tataan came from the nematode class (Haemonchus sp., Oesophagostomum sp., Mecistocirrus sp., Syngamus sp., Trichostrongylus sp., Bunostomum sp., Strongyloides sp., Ostertagia sp , Capilaria sp., and Trichuris sp.), cestoda class (Moniezia sp.), and trematoda class (Paramphistomum sp.). Abstract

This aim of this study was determine the effect of different crude protein in the ration on performance KUB chicken finisher period. This study used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 8 replications, each replication consisted of 4 chickens (unsex) 9 weeks old with 9,33% diversity coefficient. The study was conducted for 4 weeks in July 2017--August 2017 at the cage of B Field Integrated Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The treatment given in this study was diet with crude protein content R0: 14,13%, R1: 11,30% and R2: 8,38% with 8 replication, each replication consisted of 4 chickens. The variables observed were ration consumption, protein consumption, body weight gain, ration conversion, and income over feed cost. The results showed that ration with different crude protein content were influential not significantly (P> 0,05) to ration consumption, protein consumption, body weight gain, ration conversion, and income over feed cost of KUB chicken finisher period. Abstract

This research aims to know the effect of harvest age differences on productivity (fresh production, dry matter production, proportion of leaves and stems) and to know the age of harvest with optimal productivity of forage Indigofera zollingeriana. This research was conducted in May until August 2017 in Purwodadi Village, Pringsewu District, Lampung and the dry matter proximate analysis was conducted at the Nutrition and Feeding Laboratory, Livestock Department, Lampung University. It consisted of harvest age at 40 days (P40), 55 days (P55), 70 days (P70), and 85 days (P85). The design used in this experiment is, Completely Randomized Design. The variables in this research are, 1. fresh production; 2. dry matter production; 3. the proportion of leaves and stems of forages Indigofera zollingeriana. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance at 1% and then test using Polynomial orthogonal. The results showed that the difference of harvest age had a very real effect (P<0,01) on productivity (fresh production, dry matter production, proportion of leaves and stems) forage Indigofera zollingeriana. In the 40 to 85 days age range, the following equations are made, fresh production : ŷ(ton/ha) = 1,65 + 0,049x [40:85 days]; dry matter production : ŷ(ton/ha) = 0,038 + 0,005x [40:85 days]; the proportion of leaves : ŷ(%) = 80,69 – 0,19x [40:85 days]; and the proportion of stems : ŷ(%) = 19,31 + 0,19x [40:85 days]. Abstract

This study aims to determine the value of Natural Increase (NI), Net Replacement Rate (NRR), and output on each goat nation in Dadapan Village Sumberejo District Tanggamus. This research was conducted from June to August 2017. The research was conducted by survey method to all goat and goat breeders in Dadapan Village. Research results show the value of NI goat Saburai 26.24%, male and female NRR value of 756.23% and 192.27%, Output 27.66% (36 tail). Boerawa goats NI value 11.32%, male and female NRR 191,81% and 125,71%, Output 15,72% (20 tail). NI Rambon goats 24.22%, male and female NRR 636.21% and 134.19%, Output 27.33% (42 tail). NI goat PE 19.53%, male and female NRR 264.53% and 143.99%, Output 20.31% (12 tail). Abstract

This research aims to know the effect about gastrointestinal worm infestation on body weight of goat Saburai in Gedong Tataan District Pesawaran Lampung Province. This research was conducted in August - September 2017. Testing of Mc Master and Sedimentation Test at Parasitology Laboratory, Lampung Veterinary Center. This study uses 83 goats Saburai Goat found in livestock group Gedong Tataan district Pesawaran Regency Lampung Province. The data were made in tabulation and analyzed by t-test. The results indicate that goat Saburai infestation by gastrointestinal worms in the group of Gedong livestock there are ± 52 positive samples infected with the gastrointestinal worms or 62.7% total population. Based on the results identification type gastrointestinal worms are Haemonus sp (50.66%), Strongyloides sp (25.3%), Oeshophagostomum sp (22.9%), Trichostongylus sp (18.1%), Bunostomum sp (7, 3%) moniezia sp (3,6%) Mecistocirrus sp (1,2%). The result of t-test showed that gastrointestinal infestation had significant effect (P <0,01) on body weight goat Saburai with difference body weight 6,39 kg at age ≥ 1 year and 8,10 kg at age <1 year. Abstract

This research aims to know the efectivity of garlic by marination method on physical quality of broiler meat such as pH, water holding capacity, and cooking loss. Research was conducted on 8 Mei 2017 in Laboratory Animal Production and Reproduction, Animal Husbandry, Lampung University. The material used in this experiment was broiler meat from chicken slaughterhouse and chinese garlic blend. This research has done based Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments is marinating with a blend of garlic 4% (T1), 8% (T2), 12% (T3), and non marinated (T0). Obtained data were analyzed with the assumptions of variance by 5% or 1%, then the result were significantly different in the advanced test using Least Significant Different (LSD). Results showed that marinating blend of garlic significantly affected (P<0,01) to water holding capacity and cooking loss, but did not significantly affect (P>0,05) to pH. Marinated broiler meat with garlic blend at a concentration of 12% yields the best water holding capacity and cooking loss. Abstract

This study aims to: 1) know the effect of crude protein levels of ration on performance KUB chicken starter period (age 0--4 weeks); 2) know best ration crude protein levels that affect performance KUB chicken starter period (age 0--4 weeks). The research was conducted in May--June 2017 in the Poultry Cage Integrated Field Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The method used completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and eight replications. Each trial unit consists of four chickens and quantity of ninety six chickens. Treatments are: diet with high levels of coarse protein 21.50%; 18.50%; and 15.57%. The data obtained were analyzed by using anova at 5% level and continue with BNT. The results showed that the ration with different levels of crude protein, an effect was not significant (P> 0.05) on feed consumption, protein consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion, and Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC). Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of various growth media to the media maggot temperatures and maggot production. Apart from that for know about the relationship between of media pH and media temperature. The research was conducted on May 3-June 12, 2017 in the Cage Department of Animal Husbandry and Lampung State Polytechnic Analysis Laboratory. This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and five replicates media. Treatments of media include: R1 (tofu waste), R2 (palm kernel meal), R3 (fish waste) and R4 (chicken blood). The research data were analyzed variance at 5% or 1%, and a further test by Duncan test. Moreover, it also tested the relation between C/N ratio maggot media and production, as well as media temperature and pH testing media with orthogonal polynomials. The results showed a highly significant difference in various media to the media on the morning temperature (P <0.01). On the contrary, the influence of various media on the temperature during the day and evening was not significantly different (P> 0.05). The highest maggot production on palm kernel mealmedia with an average of 358.5 ± 65.76 gram. The relationship between the temperature of the chicken blood media and media pH was very tight with the equation Ŷ=-47.00+2.00X, [26.0: 26.50ᴼC] and r=1. Keywords: maggot, media, temperature, pH
