Abstract

Background: Breast milk is the only recommended and best food, cheap and easy to obtain for babies. Although breastfeeding does not cost money, the percentage of exclusive breastfeeding is still far from the target. Objectives: The study aimed to measure the relationship, advertisement of formula milk and exclusive breastfeeding in infants 6-12 months. Methods: This research is analytical in nature using a cross sectional design. The research sample was a total population of 58 people. The study was conducted in February 2020. Data collection used a questionnaire form and interview procedures were carried out. Data processing is based on grouping, namely good and poor knowledge, milk advertisements are affected and not, and breastfeeding variables are exclusive and not. Data analysis used Chi-square statistical test. Results: The results showed that 44.6% of infants were not exclusively breastfed, and 64.3% of breastmilk production was not sufficient, besides that there were 48.2% of people affected by advertisements for formula milk. The statistical results showed a significant relationship between knowledge (p= 0.015), formula milk advertising (p= 0.001), and milk production (p= 0.006) and exclusive breastfeeding for infants. Formula milk advertisement variable is the variable most associated with exclusive breastfeeding for infants 6-12 months. Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge, advertising for formula milk and breast milk production with exclusive breastfeeding for infants. Advertising for formula milk is the dominant variable in the low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Background: Breast milk contains all the nutrients a baby needs in the first six months after birth. Provision of MP-ASI before children aged six months is not recommended, because it can increase the likelihood of contamination and increase the risk of disease, especially diarrhea. Many factors are related to early breastfeeding. These factors include knowledge. Based on data obtained from the Baiturrahman Health Center in 2018, the total coverage of k4 was 871 with 909 infants and those who received exclusive breastfeeding were 191 (42.54%) and the rest were given complementary feeding. Objectives: To determine the effectiveness of flipcharts and leaflets on the knowledge of pregnant women about complementary feeding in the work area of the Baiturrahman Health Center in Banda Aceh City in 2019.Methods: : this study uses a quasy-experimental design, the research design used is the pre and post test two gruop design. The population in this study were all pregnant women in the Baiturrahman Community Health Center in Banda Aceh City, with a purposive sampling technique of 15 people. Analysis of the data in this study used the T-Paired test. Results: The results showed that the effect of flipcharts was more effective on increasing maternal knowledge about complementary foods after counseling (p = 0.002), compared to the effect of using leaflets (p = 0.016) on increasing maternal knowledge about complementary foods after counselingConclusions and Recommendations: It is hoped that this research can be a reference for researchers in conducting this research and can provide information about complementary feeding, so as to reduce the number of early supplementary feeding and increase the rate of exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Background: Flies (Musca domestica) can act as vectors of typhus, dysentery, and cholera. Various methods have been used to control flies from around human life, either mechanically (light traps), a chemical in the form of toxic baits or insecticides, or with scents that are repellent. A mixture of curry leaf extract with soursop leaves can be used as an insecticide to repel house flies. Because curry leaves and soursop leaves contain compounds, tannins, saponins, and flavonoids that flies do not like. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a mixture of curry leaves with soursop leaves as a natural insecticide in repelling the flies (Musca Domestica). Methods: This research is an experimental design with a mixture of curry leaf extract with soursop leaves on the power of repelling house flies. This research was conducted in 2019 in Darul Kamal District, Aceh Besar. The object of the research was 450 house flies, which consisted of five treatments with three repetitions. Data analysis was carried out with the one-way ANOVA statistical test. Results: The descriptive results showed that at a dose of 10gr/100ml the average flies were able to repel 37 flies, at a dose of 20 gr/100ml were 44, at a dose of 30 gr/100ml were 59 and at a dose of 40 gr/100ml was 70. Of the four treatments, the most effective dose was at a dose of 40gr/100ml, which was 70 (77.7%). Statistically, it showed that there was a significant difference (p < 0.05) between various doses/treatments of mixed extracts of curry leaves (Murraya koeginii) and soursop leaves (Annona muricata Linn) on the repelling power of house flies (Musca domestica), with p-value = 0.000.Conclusion: A mixture of curry leaf extract (Murraya koeginii) with soursop leaf (Annona muricata Linn) is effective as an insecticide in repelling house flies (Musca domestica).

Abstract

Background: The addition of red bean flour is an alternative to increase protein content. Red bean nuggets also still have low protein content, it is necessary to add protein from animal sources. One of the high protein fish is snakehead fish which reaches 25.1% while 6.224% of the protein is in the form of albumin in synergy with the mineral Zn.Objective: The research objective was to measure the effect of adding red bean flour to the organoleptic test (color, texture, aroma, taste) of snakehead fish nuggets. Methods: Experimental research with a completely randomized design (CRD). Organoleptic tests at the Food Technology Laboratory of the Aceh Health Polytechnic Nutrition Department and chemical tests at the Food Analysis Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University and the Syah Kuala University Integrated Laboratory in March 2019, descriptive univariate analysis including frequency and percentage distribution, bivariate test with ANOVA test and Duncan's continued test. Results: The results of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that the addition of red bean flour had a significant effect on organoleptic snakehead fish nuggets (p <0.05). Chemical test results, the highest protein content in treatment 50 grams (FA) = 11.93, the highest crude fiber content in treatment 50 grams (FA) = 2.52, the highest crude fat content in treatment 75 grams (FB) = 15.63, the highest ash content in treatment 100 grams (FC) = 2.04, the highest water content in treatment 50 grams (FA) = 45.63 and the highest carbohydrate content in treatment 50 grams (FC) = 32.05.Conclusion: The addition of red bean flour had a significant effect on the organoleptic snakehead fish nuggets. The highest levels of protein and carbohydrates and fiber content in snakehead fish nuggets was higher in the 50 gram (FA).
