Abstract

The purpose of this article is to discuss that Christian teachers have an important role in passing on theological concepts to students. This study uses a descriptive method. The result is that Christian teachers become theologians because they carry out their function as teachers in the field of practical theology for students (cf. Eph 4:11-14; Jas 3:1). They are called theologians because the source of their teaching comes from the Scriptures and contributes to the development of a theological framework based on the leading of the Holy Spirit (cf. Jn 14-16). Practically, Christian teachers formulate beliefs or theological arguments that can be used as a reference to build the spiritual life of students so that they know God and love Him through Jesus Christ.

Abstract

Character is a basic thing that must be owned by students as the basis for ways of thinking and behaving and reflecting their identity. However, the facts show that many students experience a character crisis. This is shown through bullying and undisciplined and irresponsible attitudes that show that it is very important to build student character. Based on the philosophy of Christian axiology, ethics has an important role in the process of building students' characters who are more like Christ. Students as representatives of God are expected to have good character according to the values of truth and reflect the character of Christ. However, they fall into sin has caused humans to tend to take actions that are contrary to the values of truth. This also happens to students who are shown through acts of bullying, stealing, cheating, and other negative things. The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of the teacher as a role model to build student character based on a review of Christian axiological philosophy by using the literature review method. The results obtained indicate that the role of Christian teachers as role models is very important in efforts to build student character. Christian teachers who have been born again and are led by the Holy Spirit will be enabled to understand axiological values based on Bible truth so that they can provide concrete examples to shape students' character in the form of exemplary attitudes and actions. It is recommended for further research to examine and analyze more deeply the role of the teacher as a role model in the building of student character.

Abstract

This research was raised because in pandemic times, students have to learn from home, and this requires independence. To bring out details about the role of parents and schools, researchers conducted literature research by studying in-depth independent learners. From the analysis results of various relevant library sources, the authors found that parents and schools need to establish cooperation to establish a mentoring section for students. Then parents and schools need to work together in building positive habits. However, there are obstacles that can arise, namely the busyness of parents who work, and parental understanding is still limited. Some parental support in the maximization of independent learners in pandemic times is to provide encouragement that will spur the development of self-potential, emotional support because the pandemic period can cause difficulties for students, motivation to keep learning passions high, and physiological support by ensuring students' health is especially not exposed to Covid-19.
