Abstract

Background: Learning aids have an important role for teachers and students because they can help students to understand a concept easier, help teachers in the teaching and learning process, motivate students to study harder, and help students to learn more actively. In this instantaneous era, people want something more practical, for example buying drinks with plastic containers (both plastic cups and mineral drink plastic bottles), which causes more plastic waste and has a negative impact on living things and the environment. The objectives of this research was to describe the quality (validation) of learning media for protein synthesis props made from plastic waste as raw material. Method: This study uses a research development (R&D) method. The sample of the research were two experts (validators), namely: 1) biological material expert, and 2) media and teaching expert. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique used a questionnaire sheet containing validation of material relevance and validation of media designs. Result: In general, the results of the validation of learning media for protein synthesis props made from plastic waste are at a very valid level, namely the relevance of the material gets 99.66% in the very valid category and the assessment of media design gets 97.5% with a very valid category. Conclusion: This shows that the learning media for protein synthesis teaching aids made from plastic waste is suitable for use in SMA / MA levels.

Abstract

Background: During the covid-19 pandemic, aspects of education underwent considerable change. With the release of a circular (se) ministry of education and culture of the republic of Indonesia no. 4 years 2020, our original face - to - face education is turned into long-distance or online learning. This changing learning system requires a head teacher to implement a range of policies that could support online learning in order to achieve a national education goal. The research is aimed at learning the headmaster's support of online biology during the covid-19 pandemic. Method: The study was done at the SMA Negeri 2 Pangkalpinang bases. The research method used was qualitative descriptive. Data retrieval involves a method of interviews or question-and-answer with the headmaster as a source. The data obtained were analyzed and rewritten descriptively. Results:  As a result of this study, the principal has made e-learning a solution to online learning at SMA Negeri 2 Pangkalpinang. The principal always notices the need and potential of educators and learners in developing e-learning. To support the biology study the principal supervised one of the biology teachers at the SMA Negeri 2 Pangkalpinang.

Abstract

Background: The research aims to find out the learning model use ; think, pair, share in improving collaborative ability and student representation of human motion system material in grade XI SMAN 4 Bandung. Method: This study is a class action study, which involves 30 students from XI MIPA 6 at sman 4 bandung. The research instruments used observation sheet to measure collaborative ability and representation, and secondary instruments like cognitive tests of multiple choice, student response numbers, and teacher activity observation sheets. Results:  The role of learning model Think, pair, share in improving student colaborative activity increased in cycles I and cycle II with 5 aspects of collaborative ability ; contributions, time management, problem solving, working with others, and investigative techniques. The role of learning model Think, pair, share in improving student representation ability increased in cycle I and II, with 3 aspects of represetation ability ; legibility, depth of material, effectiveness.  Conclusion:  Meanwhile the result shows most of teachers have been run the steps of think, pair, share and the process occured improvement in every cycle.

Abstract

Background: Schoology is an E-learning that can be a solution in an effort to create a fun learning process in the industrial era 4.0. One of the practice subjects in the Biology education FKIP UMS, whose learning through Schoology is Physiology of Plant Growth and Development. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of learning through Schoology in the physiology of plant growth and development practice, which includes: 1) archieved effectiveness of the plant growth and development physiology practice learning material; 2) student constraints during learning through schoology. Method: This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The sample in this study were 120 students taken using the Taro Yamane formula. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and interviews. Data were obtained from the results of questionnaires and interviews with 10 class representative students about the implementation of Schoology-based online practicum during the implementation of the plant growth and development physiology practice in the even semester. Results:  The results showed that the average percentage was 67.07%, which means that learning through schoology in the plant growth and development physiology practice is effective, most of the obstacles experienced by students are signals, because not all regions have good signals.
