Aksara merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Batanghari dan Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Batanghari. Jurnal ini merupakan jurnal penelitian yang mempublikasikan artikel hasil penelitian asli, studi kepustakaan, dan tulisan terkait dengan fokus pada kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, kajian bahasa dan kajian sastra. Semua artikel ditinjau oleh 4 orang reviewer, 2 orang reviewer internal dan 2 orang reviewer eksternal. Jurnal ini diterbitkan dua kali dalam satu tahun setiap bulan April dan bulan September, jurnal aksara ini dapat diakses pembaca, jurnal aksara ini berisi hasil penelitian pustaka maupun hasil penelitian lapangan. Jurnal ini meliputi beberapa ranah Ilmu sebagai berikut: 1. Kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia meliputi bidang pembelajaran keterampilan berbahasa, pembelajaran linguistik, pembelajaran semantik, pembelajaran pragmatik, pembelajaran wacana, pembelajaran sosiolinguistik, pembelajaran psikolinguistik serta pembelajaran puisi, pembelajaran prosa, pembelajaran fiksi, pembelajaran drama. 2. Kajian Bahasa Indonesia meliputi: fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, analisis wacana, semantik, pragmatik, sosiolinguistik, psikolinguistik, bahasa dan budaya, dialektologi, dokumentasi bahasa, serta bidang keilmuan lain yang berkaitan dengan kajian kebahasaan. 3. Kajian Sastra Indonesia meliputi: sastra lisan dan sastra modern berupa kajian puisi, prosa fiksi dan drama.

Abstract

This research is intended to identify the students ability in converting report text to a poetry that was taught by using discovery learning. This research is quantitative with quasi experimental design. The population of this research is students of class X MIPA SMA Negeri 10 Kota Jambi. In collecting sample, random sampling is used, in which class X MIPA1 is experiment class and class X MIPA 2 is a control class. The technique of collecting the data is test. The data is analyzed by using pretest analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. The result of the research shows that the mean score of experiment class is 75,00 and the mean score of control class is 71,80. The hypothesis test is calculated by using SPSS 20. T-test of two samples is gained with t-count 0,049 < 0,05 in which Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the result of the analysis, it can be concluded that students ability in converting report text into poetry can be taught by using discovery learning compared with those students who tried to convert the report text into poetry with direct learning model.Key Words: report text, poetry, discovery learning

Abstract

This research is aimed at identifying the use of suggestion-imagination model towards anecdote writing. This research is quantitative. The design of this research is pretest and posttest group. The population of this research is class X MIPA 3 students of SMA Negeri 10 Kota Jambi. The sampel is taken by using purposive sampling. Test is used in collecting the data. There are two tests are used, they are; pretest and posttest. The data are analyzed by using normality test, and homogeneity test is used to find the result of hypothesis. The research result shows that the mean of posttest is 67,18 and pretest is 58,59. The hypothesis test is used for t-test in which tcount is 7,857 and ttable is 2,353. It means that this result is equivalent with the criterion in which Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that suggestion-imagination model has significant influence towards students of class X MIPA 3 in writing anecdote inSMA Negeri 10 Kota Jambi Academic Year 2016/2017. Hence, the suggestion-imagination model can be used in learning anecdote writing.Key Words : suggestion-imagination, writing, anecdote.

Abstract

This research is aimed at describing the aesthetics values that are found in the expression of Riau Malay Custom by Tenas Effendy in the book Tegak Menjaga Tuah, Duduk Memelihara Marwah edited by Makmur Hendrik and friends. Aesthetics value is the element of beauty in literary work and it is a phenomenon of flowers and smells. The beauty is created byan author with language tools through particular language exploration where the author shows the aspects of beauty optimally. This research is qualitative descriptive by using structural and stylistic. The data is taken from aesthetics values in the expression of Riau Malay by Tenas Effendy in the book Tegak Menjaga Tuah, Duduk Memelihara Marwah edited by Makmur Hendrik and friends. Moreover, the conclusion is made besd on the expressions found in that book. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that Tegak Menjaga Tuah, Duduk MemeliharaMarwah book edited by Makmur Hendrik and friends comprises 25 expressions of aesthetic values of Riau Malay. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the use of picture and picturemodel in learning text writing at students class VIII/B MTS Negeri Sijenjang Kota Jambi Academic Year 2016/2017. The method of the research is qualitative descriptive. The data of this research is students test result in writing text about news. The technique of collection data is by using observation, interview, test, and documentation. The result of the interview that (1) there are 22 students who gained very good predicate in which the percentage is 61,11%, (2) there are 5 students who get good predicate in which the percentage is 13,89%, (3) there are 5 students who get fair predicate in which the percentage is 13,89% , and (4) there are 4 students who get fail predicate in which the percentage is 11,11%. So, it can be concluded that the students ability in writing news report text by using picture and pictureat students class VIII/B MTS Negeri Sijenjang Kota Jambi Academic Year 2016/2017 falls into good category in which the mean is 72.Key Words:picture and picture model, writing, report news text.

Abstract

This research is intended to describe students ability in wiring poetry by using a picture of their idols in class VII A SMP Negeri Satu Atap Petaling Academic Year 2016/2017. This research uses quantitative descriptive method. The data is taken from students poetry in decribing their idols. This researh uses quantitative analysis. The data analysis is counted by using the percentage of students assessment in writing poetry. The data of the research is 25 students. Based on students result in writing poetry by describing their idols at class VII A SMPN Satu Atap Petaling Academic Year 2016/2017, it can be seen that there are 3 students who got 87,5 who fall into good category; there is 1 student who got 81,25 tat falls into very good category; there are 9 students who got 75 that fall into good category; there are 6 students who got 68,75 hat fall into good categroy; and there are 6 students who got 62,5 that fall into fair category. From those 25 students, the total score is 289 with the total score is 1806,5, and the mean is 72,25 that falls into good category. Hus, students ability in writing poetry in decribing their idols at class students of VII A SMP Negeri Satu Atap Petaling Academic Year 2016/2017 fall into good category.Key Words : ability, writing poetry, picturing idols.

Abstract

This research is intended to describe the theme of bapeno traditional expression . the data of this research is words in the traditional expression of bapeno. The data is collected by using observation, interview, recording, and documentation. This research is qualitative descriptive that are analyzed by using sturctural approach and content analysis. This result of the research shows that there are 2 themes found, they are: theme about the relationship of human with human and the relationship of human and God. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the students ability in writing exposition text at class XAdministrasi Perkantoran 1 SMK Negeri 1 Kota Jambi Academic Year 2017/2018. This research is qualitative descriptive. The primary data of the research is students exposition text. The data is collected by using documentation technique. The sample is taken by using simple random sampling technique. The result of the research shows that there are 24 students who wrote exposition text by using good thesis structure, there are 27 students who wrote exposition text by using good sequences of argument, and there are 27 students who wrote exposition text by using good repetition. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that, in general, students ability in writing exposition text at class XAdministrasi Perkantoran 1 SMK Negeri 1falls into good criteria. Abstract

The purposeof this research to identify symbolic meaning in the poem Puisi Malu (Aku) Jadi Orang Indonesia by Taufiq Ismail which refer to the lexical, grammatical, referential, denotative, connotative, words meaning, terms meaning, conceptual meaning, and assosiative meaning. This research is qualitative descriptive. The source of the data is primary and secondary data. The primary data is taken from the collection of poetry Malu Aku Jadi Orang Indonesia (MAJOI), while secondary data is taken from some books and other references which can be used in analyzing the data. The secondary data is taken from the library of FKIP Batanghari University and district library. The data is analyzed by using hermenutics technique, they are; reading the literature based on the structure of the language by translating and or identifying the meaning of the words or the synonym of the words. The result of the research shows that there is lexical meaning in those ten poetry by Taufiq Ismail. So, it can be concluded that the poetry by Taufiq Ismail has some lexical meanings in relation to convention or agreement. Key Words: anayisis, symbolic meaning, poetry

Abstract

This research is aimed at describing figurative language in simile aspect in the Novel Marmut Merah Jambu by Raditya Dika. This research is qualitative descriptive. The data of this research is primary and secondary data. The primary data is taken directly while secondary data is taken from books, notes, and certain evidence, or published or unpublished archives. The result of the researc identifies that there are 8 quotes of figurative language in simile aspect which is found in the novel Marmut Merah Jambu by Raditya dika.Kata Kunci: analisys, figurative language, novel

Pthis research is qualitative descriptive. The primary data is taken from the quotes that has affection values in educational character. The data is collected by using libarary technique and documentation technique which focused on educational character aspects in the novel Padang Bulan by Andrea Hirata.
