Abstract

This article examines the impact of social media on the evolution of the English language through a qualitative methodology, specifically employing methods for literature review. In the digital era, social media has become a primary platform for communication, facilitating interactions between individuals and influencing language use and development. This research analyzes various forms of online discourse that emerge on platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, as well as how linguistic elements such as vocabulary, grammar, and writing style undergo changes with the increasing use of social media. The findings indicate that social media contributes to the formation of new terms and a reduction in formal sentence structures in everyday communication. Additionally, phenomena such as abbreviations, emoticons, and hashtag usage (#) have become distinctive features in online interactions that reflect contemporary linguistic dynamics. These findings provide insights into how information technology not only changes our communication methods but also affects overall linguistic development.

Abstract

Libraries as a place where various library materials are collected are established to fulfill visitors' reading interests. However, the condition of public libraries in Indonesia is inadequate and unattractive. One of the things that can be done is to design and provide a library with adequate facilities, with open spaces and attractive visuals, but still in accordance with national library standards. The design of Medan city public library is one of the efforts to support the government in increasing the literacy rate and providing public libraries in Medan that have facilities with national standards. The method of solving design problems used in this design is descriptive method by conducting field surveys, observations, documentation and literature studies and analyzing the site and library users. Data collection is divided into two types, namely primary data and secondary data. This public library is designed with a biophilic architecture approach to address environmental issues around the site. This biophilic architecture provides a picture of the natural atmosphere directly in a space. This can be applied by connecting the design with natural elements, by visually presenting these natural elements, such as an open garden in the building.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the financial performance of South Halmaherah Regency in 2010-2017 This research is a case study research with data collection using library techniques, and the data used are secondary data in the form of a report on the realization of the South Halmahera Regency revenue and expenditure budget in 2010-1017 . Furthermore, this data is calculated using financial ratios namely the ratio of the degree of fiscal decentralization, the ratio of financial independence, the ratio of effectiveness of PAD, and the ratio of regional financial efficiency. The results showed that in general the financial performance of the government of South Halmahera Regency was not optimal. Based on the results of the study, it can be illustrated that the financial performance of local governments in South Halmahera Regency is still not stable or not so good. Where the results of calculations in each year are still experiencing numbers that fluctuate so that some financial ratios still show positive trends and negative trends. This is caused by the regional government of South Halmahera Regency which is not yet mature in the management of available regional resources. This can be explained from research that uses several financial ratios including the ratio of the degree of fiscal decentralization, the ratio of regional financial independence, the ratio of effectiveness, and the efficiency ratio of regional finances.

Abstract

This article examines the implementation dilemma of the Adiwiyata Program in Riau Islands Province, focusing on the gap between policy ideals and actual practice. Employing a qualitative approach with the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product), the study evaluates policy, planning, implementation, and outcomes of the program. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that while the policy framework complies with standards, the planning, implementation, and outcomes are yet to be optimized. Major issues include inconsistency in execution, weak stakeholder coordination, and ineffective assessment of Adiwiyata schools. This study contributes theoretically to the evaluation of environmental education policy and offers strategic recommendations for strengthening program governance at the provincial level. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on provincial-level evaluation, contrasting with previous studies centered on schools. The findings are expected to inform the development of more effective and sustainable environmental education policies.
