Abstract

Soybean plant (Glysine max L). Is teh plant which has prospect and gents priority to be developed. Necessity tends to increase in domestics from year by year ironically, the production available is still low, so still have to import in the average of 600 thousand tons in the year of 1977 or the average increase with flow of 9.2 % a year. One of the production improvement businesses which is hoped for the rertum forwards the perpetuation of nature is by seed treatment and combined with sonic bloom technology applied together with nutrition. Basically, this technology is to force the growth, so it is hoped that quality and productivity will increase. The program of seed treatment in the ring of the application studi "sonicbloom" and nutrition of soybean plants are performed in Jragung Village, Karangawen Subdistrict, Demak Regency. The treatment applied is seed treatment with carbonsulfan, liquid fertilazir and sonic nutrition as well as getting along with the application of sonic bloom and nutrition. Result of the study shows that the giving of sonic bloom +nutrition with seed treatment using carbonsulfan, in fact, shows some positive growth components such as at high plants. The inluence of sonic bloom+ nutrition with seed treatment of carbonsulfan tends to increase the production of 20.11 %, if it is compared with the control is from 2,037 t/hectar up to 2,550 ti hectar

Abstract

Java cattle is an endogenous breed, and they have posibility comparative advantage. The research of Java cattle, especially for genetic's improvement are still rare. Indonesian native catties have genetic relationship among them. The objectives of this researchwas to estimate genetic distance on Java cattle and cattle breeds in Indonesia, and also to know the accuration of classifying of cattle breeds by norphometrical analysis of mandible. The number of specimens examined for Java, OngoleCrossbred, Madura, and Bali cattle were 19, 38, 12 and 17, respectively. They were collected from the slaughter hauses in Brebes, Semarang, Bangkalan, Dendasar and Jakarta respectively. Mean-while, 14 specimen of banteng weere obtained from the Bogor Zoological Muzeum. Each spe cimen collected was measured for I 5 mandibular measurementent. The SAS (1990) was applied for multivariate analysis approaches. Multi• variate analysis performed using Discriminant Analysis. Results showed that (I) Jawa cattle was nearer in the genetic relationship to Madura, subsewuently followed by Bali and Ongoloe Crossbred. Banteng was the farthest to a both Madura and Ongole Crossbread: 2) breeds resulted hiht accuracy as indiracy as indicated by the low probability of errorneous discrimination. The accuracy accounted 95,29 %. The rate misclassification was 4, I 7 %.

Abstract

Quail responses to voice sensitively. A noisy voice around can decrease its productivity. However, it may adapt to voice treatment continually. The other studies show that classical music has a powerful effect to man to reduce stress and tension, help to moderate blood pressure and body temperature. The aim of this research is to know the effect of instrumental classical music sound treats continually to quail on its productivity. The productivity is determined by the body weight gain and egg production. A total of 225 quails divided into five treatments were used in this research. The treatments were instrumental classical music sound playing for 6 hours, 12 hours, 18 hours, and 24 hours long every day. The control treatment was silent. The experiment designed by Completely Randomised Design method. The different means of data between each treatment were analysed by Honestly Significant Different Method. The parameters of the research were quail body weight gain and quail egg production during 12 weeks maintenance. Analysis of Varian with significant level at 5% showed there is no significant effect of instrumental classical music sound on quail body weight gain. However, instrumental classical music sound has significant effect on quail egg production. Honestly Significant Different Test result indicated that there is significant effect of playing instrumental classical music for 18 hours long every day on quail egg production

Abstract

The study was done at Tugu and N galiyan District, Semarang City, Central Java. The aim of study (a) to find out the terrain suitability classes for settlement in the research area, (b) to evaluate the terrain for a settlement site (in this case for housing) in the research area based on their terrain suitability for settlement, and (c) to determine the dominant variables influencingthe defferent classes of terrain suitability for settlement. The terrain units as analyse units were established based on the results of maps overlayed of the geomorphological map, the geological map, the slope steepnees map and the soil type map. The physical characteristics of the terrain units were analyzed based on the variables of other terrain suitability for settlement, consisted 17 variables have been established: they were slope steepnes, index of plasticity, soil texture, force induration of rock, rough material, drainage, soil permeability, erosion, flood, ground water, etc. In order find out the classes of terrain suitability, each variable in each terrain units had been constructed by rating technique, will made a map of terrain suitability for settlement. To evaluate the terrain on housing locations. a map of terrain suitability of settlement was overlayed with housing sites map on research area by using computer based Geographical Information System (GIS) aided by Arc Info and Arc View software. In order to find out the dominant influence variables to the defferent levels ofter rain suitability for their settlement had been analyzed with statistical (multiple regression). The result, of the study indicate that : First, there are only 2 variations in the terrain qualities being studied, these are reflected by medium level (medium class) of terrain sutability for an area of 54.0524 square kilometers or 72.33 % of the total area and low level (bad class) of terrain suitability for an area of 20.6822 square kilometers or 27.67% of the total area. The hypothesis that "terrain unit on the landfonn of denuded structurally hill will have low level (bad class) of terrain suitability for sttlement sites" was rejected. Second, The housing sites being studied are generally located in the terrain units with medium levels for an area 354 hectares or 79.37 % of the total housing sites on the research area. The hypothesis that "most of the housing sites in the area being studied, are located in terrain unit with low levels (bad class) of terrain suitability for settlement" was rejected. Third, the surface drainage is the dominant variables influencing the levels terrain suitability for settlement.

Abstract

Street vendings is a phenomenon which is found in every society, mostly in the less developed country. It is also a sign of dual economic or crisis, in which many people will try to work informally. The suspected key elemen triggers the dual situation mostly is pointed to the urbanization, involution, and city-village development policy, which impacted in the change of land-use, industrialization, and unemployment in the city as well as the village. Factors influencing the choice for street-vending activities in such location are related more to the the availability of consumers, transportation access and strategic site than the hierarchi of the com• mercial structure. Semarang street-vending case also proves that the transport cost is not the concern of street-vendors to shop, but their business time and quality of the product they will sell. For Semarang street-vendors, profit is not the only objective, since the sustainability of their business is more important. Their needs are related more to their problems those are, to have a proper and secure place for business and a reasobable income from their small capital.

Abstract

Evaluation of acute toxicity of endosulfan insecticide in natural water environment was conducted to know its potential negative effect to the Nile (Oreochromis nitoticusi. Using static toxicity test method, the acute toxicity of7 endosulfan concentration levels were tested afterstandardized for 96 hours in the solution of water from river, pond and paddy field. Four replications were implemented into those treatment and ground water was being a control. The size of Nile used in the examination was 3-5 gr/tails in weight. Result of the examination was revealed by medium lethal concentration value LC50 -96 hours. The result indicated that insecticide of endosulfan in the solution of water from three kind environment had the high toxicity effection the Nile. The values of LC50 -96 hours were 6.00 mg/Lin the river water, 4.61 mg/Lin the pond water and4.51 mg/Lin the paddy field water, respectively. The difference of those values was caused by the difference of water quality such as total hardess, organic matters, total and suspended solid, and endosulfan residue in the water.
