Abstract

The hospital is a workplace where there are many potential hazards. To minimize potential hazards that will impact health workers, visitors and patients, it is necessary to establish HOHS policies and plans. The purpose of this study was to find out how the description of OHS policy making and planning at the Bahteramas Hospital. This type of study was a qualitative descriptive study with a phenomenological approach. Determination of informants used purposive sampling technique. Informants included Chairperson of the HOHS Committee, Head of the OHS Division, Head of the ICU Room Installation and Head of the Inpatient Room. Primary data obtained by triangulation techniques, namely interviews, observation and documentation. Variables consist of policy setting, organization, support for facilities and infrastructure, risk management and control of potential hazards. The results shows that there is no written policy, but an organization was formed which was marked by the issuance of Director Decree number 725 in 2019 concerning the HOHS organizational guidelines and there is a determination of funding support such as fees from BLUDs, activity proposals and RKA, support for facilities and infrastructure such as APAR, hydrants, evacuation routes, fire alarm systems. OHS planning is to carry out risk management by using checklists and priority problems and controlling potential hazards to health workers by setting work shifts and using PPE, while visitors and patients are given safety such as cleaning wet floors. Conclusion, at Bahteramas Hospital, there is no written policy establishment but there is risk management and control of potential hazards

Abstract

Work stress is a form of psychological response of the body to the pressures and demands of work that exceed the limits of one's abilities, which are physical or environmental demands as well as in social interactions. The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between workload, shift, salary, and interpersonal relationship with work stress on nurses at BLUD RS Konawe Southeast Sulawesi. This study was an analytical study with a cross sectional study approach. The variables ini this study included work stress, workload, work shift, salary, and interpersonal relationships. The population was all nurses who work in BLUD RS Konawe numbered 164 people. The sample of this study was 115 people who were obtained by the simple random sampling technique method. The results of this study indicate that there is a statistically significant relationship (Pvalue<0.05) between workload variables with work stress (Pvalue=0.000) and shift variables with work stress (Pvalue=0.014). There is no statistical relationship (Pvalue>0.05) variable relationship of salary with work stress (Pvalue=0.875) because the salary is already satisfactory. Then the interpersonal relationship with work stress (Pvalue=0.836) on nurses is not related because interaction and communication goes well. The conclusion in this study is that there is a relationship between workload and work shift with work stress and there is no relationship between salary and interpersonal relationship with work stress on nurses at BLUD RS Konawe

Abstract

Unsafe action is a mistake in understanding and complying with good and correct work procedures. This study aims to find out what factors are related to unsafe acts of workers at PT. Pelindo IV (Persero) Kendari City Branch in 2020. This type of research was a quantitative study with cross sectional approach. The research was conducted from December to January 2021. The sampling technique used a total sampling of 57 field workers. The variables in this study included unsafe actions, knowledge, attitudes, and supervision. The data collection instruments used in this study were questionnaires and documentation in accordance with the needs of the researcher. The data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with fisher's exact test. Data presentation was done in the form of frequency distribution tables and relationship tables between variables and then narrated. The results shows that 18 or 31.6 workers committed unsafe actions and 39 or 68.4 workers are already in the safe category. There is a relationship of knowledge (p-value = 0.011) and supervision (p-value = 0.022) with unsafe actions. However there is no relationship of attitude (p-value = 0.646) with unsafe actions. The conclusion is that there is no relationship between attitudes and unsafe actions in workers, and there is a relationship between knowledge and supervision and unsafe actions in workers. The Company is expected to provide training or education to workers on the importance of work safety and can improve supervision to workers

Abstract

The fishing community in the working area of Sukakarya Health Center often experiences various types of diseases due to occupational accidents while fishing. To solve the problem of fishermen's work accidents, the government provides a UKK Post. However, the implementation of the fishermen's UKK Pos work health program has not run optimally. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of the occupational health program in the occupational health efforts of fishermen. The type of this study was a qualitative study with a descriptive approach which is carried out in the working area of Puskesmas Sukakarya, Kota Sabang. Informants of this study were 7 people. Determination of informants in this study using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out descriptively using the data analysis technique model of Miles and Huberman. The results showed that the implementation of promotional, preventive, curative and rehabilitative activities for the occupational health program at Pos UKK was not optimal because the activities were only carried out 4 times a year, limited funds/budget for organizing Pos UKK activities, there was no training for program managers and cadres. Supporting factors for the implementation of the Pos UKK occupational health program are the demographic location of Sabang City, the support of the village head, the low health of fishermen. The inhibiting factors for activities are the location of Pos UKK which was not permanent (often moved), the lack of budget, the absence of training on occupational health for program officials and cadres. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of the occupational health program at the fishermen's UKK post is not optimal because of inhibiting factors. It is recommended that the Health Office of Sabang City collaborates across sectors (Marine Service) to make training and seminars on occupational health for the person in charge of the Puskesmas occupational health program and the cadres of Pos UKK in the Sabang City area

Abstract

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a tool that must be used when working according to work hazards and risks to maintain the safety of the workers themselves and those around them. PPE plays an important role in occupational safety and health. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, availability, regulations, and worker’s supervision of the compliance with the use of PPE on workers at PT.Wijaya Karya Beton. The design of this study used an analytic survey with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were 100 employees of PT Wijaya Karya Beton. The statistical test used was the chi square test and logistic regression. The results shows that of the total respondents, 51.0% were aged 23-38 years, 32.0% had high school education, 76.0% had worked for 11-30 years. The results of bivariate analysis using chi-square showed that knowledge (p = .000), attitude (p = .000), availability of PPE (p = .000), regulation (p = .000) and supervision (p = .000). From the multivariate analysis, the most influential factor in this study is the availability of PPE with an OR value of 47,300, which means that respondents whose availability of PPE is less likely to cause 47 times the non-compliance of respondents in using PPE. From the results of this study, it is hoped that the management of PT.Wijaya Karya, Tbk of North Sumatra will be able to better maintain their promotional efforts towards the use of personal protective equipment so that it can influence the knowledge and attitudes of workers to wear complete personal protective equipment and keep the condition of personal protective equipment in good condition before the replacement period is by adding a demonstration method for the use and care of personal protective equipment during the safety talk
