Abstract

This study has the purpose of explaining the trend of library development in Indonesia from 2017-2021, studying the significance, and analysing the effects on the development of literacy skills in schools. This study was designed as a quantitative descriptive, comparison, and correlational analysis. The results of this study indicate that the trend of Library Growth in Indonesia continuously increased except in 2018 due to a regrouping policy for primary schools. Secondly, the library growth in Indonesia has shown a significant difference each year in public and private schools. Although in 2018, there was no significant difference in terms of the average percentage of library growth for schools in both public and private environments, what happened in 2019 and 2020 showed different things. Both public and private school libraries have demonstrated significant differences in the average percentage growth of libraries to schools in 2019 and 2020. Even in 2021, the average accumulation percentage of growth in the number of libraries in public schools is already above 90%, while in private schools, it is still below 90%. Lastly, a significant moderate positive relationship between the national average libraries to school ratio and Alibaca Index/Reading Literacy Score means that a library's presence in schools has moderately influenced students' literacy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the influence of this pandemic on understanding digital concepts owned by native Papuan students who learn English, both indigenous and non-indigenous students. This study is categorized as a survey study. This study surveyed the EFL students’ digital concepts during global pandemic. To attain the data, researchers distributed questionnaires to respondents. The questionnaires were distributed to 228 students in eastern Indonesia. The data analysis technique used in this study is a quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that, in general, the understanding of digital concepts of EFL students in eastern Indonesia is still below the average value. In demographic mapping based on indigenous students and non-indigenous students, there are no significant differences. Even in some aspects, indigenous students in terms of knowledge. Finally, in comparing the duration of playing games as an alternative to relieve stress during the pandemic, those who do not play games tend to have a lower understanding than those who intensely play games for more than 4 hours. The research findings can be a catalyst for future studies digital concept in the realm of learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a model of school cooperation with parents and religious leaders applied to rural areas, where teachers and religious leaders have a strong influence. This collaboration contains interactive monitoring activities, home learning care, religious leaders' involvement, and students' active participation in classroom learning. The method used in this study is RnD, developed by Gall & Gall., et. al. The instrument validity test was carried out by using the Rcount : Rtable, resulting 0.468. Reliability tests were performed with Alpha Chrombach Estimate, resulting in a reliability coefficient value 0.755. The validity of the contents of the instrument is obtained through the assessment of experts and practitioners. The model's construct validity was tested with the Pearson Correlation Test, while the  effectiveness of the model was tested with the Wilcoxon Test and N-Gain The results of limited tests conducted at SD Inpres Workwana, SD Inpres Pir 2, and SD YPPK Dunumamoy, Keerom Regency, show that the IGOPA model can increase students' active participation in learning. Wilcoxon's test results between before and after the implementation of the IGOPA cooperation model showed significant results, namely the average attendance increased by 25.42%, and the completion of working on tasks increased by 13.28%. The effectiveness of the IGOPA Partnership model yields a value of 0.676 on the N-Gain scale, which means the degree of its significance is medium. The model is only tested in a limited rural area in the Regency of Keerom. It  needs testing in a wider context for its greater validity and effectivity.
