Abstract

Indonesia is an island nation whose two-thirds of its territory is water and is located in a strategic location because it is on a cross of world trade routes; therefore, the role of the port as a marine transportation system is crucial in supporting economic growth. The stacking field used to serve container cargo is one of the main port facilities to store containers originating from ships or going to ships. A buildup field is needed to prevent the risk of ship delay, which results in decreased loading and unloading production and the time of ships and goods being ported for a prolonged time. Makassar New Port is the largest seaport in the Eastern Region of Indonesia. Located in the Makassar Strait, Makassar New Port holds a leading role in the distribution of goods equipped with loading and unloading facilities to and from the ship to the receiving warehouse. This study aims to analyze the fertilization field's capacity for both the operator and the user. The result of this study obtained for the short-term optimum cost Container Yard in Makassar New Port is IDR 1.687.795.482.144 with the width of field dimension is 530.000 m2 . While for the Medium Term optimum cost is IDR 1.688.202.882.750 with the width of field dimension is 530.000 m2 and Long Term is IDR 1.689.520.940.921 with the field dimension is 535.000 m2.Times

Abstract

The propeller is one part of the ship that is driven by the engine, which has the function of obtaining thrust for the speed of the ship so that the propeller must be able to withstand the forces acting on the blade due to hydrodynamic loads. Propellers are divided into two types, one of which is the Fixed Pitch Propeller (FPP). The speed on the ship is inseparable from a good propeller design in order to get optimal thrust generated by the propeller motion. This research was conducted because of the frequent occurrence of losses and cracks in the propeller leaves. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimum propeller thrust value from the analysis of the rake angle variation model made so that it can be seen which model variation has the highest thrust and torque values and to determine the comparison of the thrust values resulting from the B-Series and Kaplan model variations. This research method uses Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) simulations. The hypothesis from the variation simulation study that the angle influences the thrust value of the ship as well as the thrust comparison value and the flow pattern and contours is obtained from the model with the same dimensional and rotation analysis parameters and the highest efficiency value is obtained on the B-Series and Kaplan propeller models. with maximum rake angle variation.

Abstract

ecommissioning is the final stage of the life of a platform located offshore in order to support the decommissioning activities that will be carried out, a modified barge is designed to become a tool that can assist the dismantling of offshore platforms. The modification made is by adding an appending frame whose function is to lift the platform that is ready to be dismantled. Of course, not only that is a consideration in the modification of the decommissioning barge but also the planning of the stowage plan design for the modified barge model so that the components and cargo on the barge can be placed in the appropriate position so that the designed barge has a capacity that matches the purpose of the barge. Then when you have made a stowage plan for the decommissioning barge, the next step will be modeling the barge starting from making the hull to the load and also the tank. When all these parts have been made, validation is carried out to compare the value of the model with that in the stability booklet, if so, the next step is to create a code using the moses executive. Analysis when lifting that has been simulated in this study getting a value with the highest CoG point variation, the farthest and with a draft variation of 4.5m, 5.5m, 5.8m, it is found that the stability value meets the DNVGL-ST-N001 criteria in the GM (metacenter height) value, intact range, area ratio.

Abstract

The Teluk Bakau waters is known for its marine tourism and is often used as a traditional fishing ground. Information regarding sediment distribution in the Teluk Bakau waters is limited. Existing studies have only conducted sampling at specific locations, and there have been no reports on the spatial scattering characteristics of the sediment types on the seafloor in this area. The objective of this study is to analyze and map the acoustic backscatter values of each sediment type to obtain a spatial distribution map of sediments in the Teluk Bakau waters. The research was conducted in May 2023, using a survey method with the Simrad EK15 single-beam echosounder acoustic instrument set at a frequency of 200 kHz. Data collection in the field was done using survey lines, and during the acoustic data collection, sediment samples were collected using a sediment grab at five stations. The recorded acoustic data from the seabed were then extracted using EchoView 4.0 software to determine the values of volume backscattering strength (SV). The SV values were utilized to obtain the surface backscattering strength (SS) values, while the sediment samples were analyzed using gradistat 8.0 software. Based on the analysis conducted, Bakau Bay has SV values ranging from -34.00 dB to -38.48 dB. Based on the analysis of the SS values, Bakau Bay is dominated by coarse sand sediments in both the tracking results and sediment sampling, with backscattering values ranging from -16.00 dB to -17.49 dB. Additionally, two sediment types are evenly distributed along the tracking lines medium sand with backscattering values ranging from -17.49 dB to -18.97 dB, and fine sand with backscattering values ranging from -19.26 dB to -20.57 dB, found at a depth of 14-16 meters.

Abstract

Ports influence local economic development and facilitate the flow of commodity distribution between regions. Ports become drivers of regional development supported by optimal logistics system performance. Seeing the importance of maritime logistics in Indonesia, it is necessary to build a comprehensive maritime logistics system with good performance. One of the ports that can be an illustration of the condition of ports in Indonesia is Terminal II of the New Makassar Container Port where this port is designated as the main port of Makassar city which supports export-import activities. Thus, this study aims to analyze the service performance of Terminal II operational activities. The method used is through observation or direct visits to research locations to obtain data related to operational performance and conduct analysis by comparing performance achievements with predetermined performance standards. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, the overall operational service performance results are stated to be good because they comply with performance standards. However, the obstacle in increasing the flow of containers to support performance is the lack of international ships mooring due to the limited length of the berth being operated.

Abstract

Tropical areas such as Indonesia are ocean areas that show convective activity responses that affect the global climate balance in space and time. The equatorial region, especially Indonesia, is subject to very complex ocean-atmospheric phenomena which are influenced by many factors and phenomena such as the Monsoon/Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO), Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO), Tropical Cyclone. /Temperate Forcing, Indian Ocean Dipole Mode (IODM), and Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO). This journal focuses on discussing two phenomena, namely the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) and the Pacific Decagonal Oscillation (PDO) in Papua (East Indonesia). This study uses an empirical approach with statistical calculations based on the PDO variable in the form of the PDO index, the amplitude variable which represents the MJO data and the rainfall for the province of Papua. Data for these two variables were obtained from NOAA and BoM, as well as rainfall data obtained from NASA. The data period analyzed was 40 years from 1981 to 2020. Two dates were filtered and correlations were analyzed using a simple linear regression method. The results of this research show that PDO is associated with MJO in Papua. This is clearly seen from the results of the correlation of the two phenomena. In addition, these two phenomena also affect the increase or decrease in rainfall in Papua. The second impact of this phenomenon on Papua (eastern part of the archipelago) is caused by the circulation of sea water from the Pacific Ocean through the Indonesian Toughflow.

Abstract

Field "R" is an old field located in the South East Sumatra Block. The pipeline network in Area "WK-1" in field "R" has 8 platforms namely the Rama-B, Rama-D, Rama-I, S.W. Wanda-A, Wanda-A, N. Wanda-A, Gita-A, and Rama-C. There are 31 producing wells through the 8 platforms. The purpose of this research is to create a piping network model for Area "WK-1" Field "R", identify optimal or non-optimal conditions for pipelines through simulation results and matching on the pipeline network model, identify whether bottlenecking problems occur in the piping network Area "WK-1" Field "R" using the matching results on the piping network model so that the location of pipes and nodes with fluid problems can be found precisely, and carry out production optimization simulations to increase production rates oil in Area "WK-1" Field "R". Production well modeling and pipeline network modeling using a multiphase steady-state production simulator application, the models that have been made will be validated matching against actual conditions. From the results of matching the pipe network model, an analysis of pipe problems that can occur such as bottlenecks is carried out. From the network simulation results, it can be seen that there is bottlenecking on the pipeline in Area "WK-1" Field "R". This is due to the condition of the pipeline network which has been operating for quite a long time since 1974. From the simulation results, there are 2 optimization scenarios, the production capacity of each well can still be increased and the total rate of oil production increases. In the first scenario, the Bean Size setting on the Choke is 48.92 BOPD with an average increase of 1.55%. Whereas in the second scenario, by opening the pressure limits at the wellhead points, the yield is 583.25 BOPD with an average increase of 16.13%.

Abstract

Twin Ball and Twin Cylinder of Wave Energy have the working principle of converting kinetic energy into electrical energy. The problem that occurs in Sungai Raya Kepulauan Sub-district is the problem of limited electricity supply in the ocean area in Lemukutan Island Village, where the electricity demand in the village is limited. The electricity supplied is PLN electricity from diesel power plants that still use fossil fuel sources. This study aims to determine the potential of ocean wave energy that can be utilized by fishermen. This research method uses quantitative methods using secondary data in the form of significant wave height and period data obtained from the ECMWV website. The results of the Twin ball analysis use a ball buoy with a diameter of 18 cm, while Twin Cylinder uses a tube buoy with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 16 cm. The arm length of both types of floats is 30 cm. Comparison of scale 1:700 Twin Ball and Twin Cylinder can produce electricity of 334.18 W and 106.93 W. From the above results, it can be seen that Twin Ball can produce more power than Twin Cylinder. The amount of power generated can help 1 fisherman's began for lighting needs. About 3 - 4 lamps with a power of 50 W to 75 W per 1 lamp can be used as lighting.
