Abstract

This study aims to describe the acquisition of conjunction elements in preschool children. This research is focused on the acquisition of coordinating and subordinating conjunctions in preschool-aged children. The subject of this research is a 5 year old girl. The data in this study are utterances from 5-year-old girls which contain elements of coordinating and subordinating conjunctions. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research design. There are three stages of data analysis in this study, namely reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the conjunctions most frequently found in the speech of research subjects are coordinating conjunctions. The coordinating conjunctions found in the utterances of the research subjects are and, or, but, whereas, besides, moreover, only, except. The subordinating conjunctions found in the utterances of research subjects are if, if, for, so, before, after.

Abstract

In this study, the register of players for the online game Dragon Raja:SEA is discussed. Due to the uniqueness of the language used in the speech group, this research is needed to understand the specific language they use which can only be understood by members of the speech group. The purpose of this study was to analyze the form, meaning, and function of registers in the game Dragon Raja: SEA. The purpose of this study was to analyze the form, meaning, and function of registers in the game Dragon Raja: SEA. The approach used is a qualitative approach. The data was collected using the conversational engagement listening technique and the advanced technique using note-taking and recording techniques. The data source of this research is the online game player Dragon Raja: SEA. The data source of this research is the online game player Dragon Raja: SEA. The data required is in the form of sentences containing registers. The data analysis method used is descriptive qualitative method with stages 1) collecting data, 2) transcribing oral data into written data, 3) analyzing data according to register theory, and 4) concluding the data obtained. The results found are 1) forms that are divided into words, phrases, abbreviations; 2) meaning; and 3) functions, which consist of a) summarizing orders, b) facilitating communication, c) establishing intimacy, d) giving insults, and e) giving praise.

Abstract

Ecocritic is the study of literature and the environment from an interdisciplinary point of view where all sciences come together to analyze the environment and provide possible solutions for the correction of contemporary environmental situations. Ecology is often found in adult literature, so eco-critical studies are rarely found in children's literature studies. Meanwhile, the values contained in ecology need to be instilled from an early age to create a generation that cares about the environment.This research discusses the form, background, and impact of caring for the environment in a short story of children's literature entitled Mata: Di Tanah Melus by Okky Mardasari. Data was collected using several techniques including reading and understanding, defining characters and identifying data related to research objectives. As for the research results where the background found is based on the creation of moral values towards environmental components. So that this form of caring for the environment has an impact on the related nation.

Abstract

The ceremony of pulang-memulangkan is a speech event which includes speech components, then by Dell Hymes it includes aspects of SPEAKING. This study applies aspects of SPEAKING in seeing speech event at the ceremony of pulang-memulangkan. This study observes at the oral discourse spoken by the participants of the ceremony pulang-memulangkan. By using qualitative methods, data was taken by applying two methods, namely the non-participant observation method by using the recording technique and the interview method. Through the object of research in the form of oral discourse spoken by the participants involved, seeing the cultural group of the Sambas Malay community, responding to a marriage through a discourse that was built in the ceremony of pulang-memulangkan. The results of the study indicate that the ceremony of pulang-memulangkan has included components in speech event. These components support the process of pulang-memulangkan ceremony discourse speech. So that the meaning and purpose interpreted through linguistic and non-linguistic aspects of pulang-memulangkan ceremony discourse can be interpreted well by participants and audiences.

Abstract

Minangkabau-language pantuns are rare to find in today's modern times. Therefore, preservation efforts are needed through cultural documentation and research on oral literature. This study aims to describe the structure and social functions of pantun in Minangkabau language. This research belongs to literary research, especially oral literature. The data of this study are the utterances of Minangkabau pantuns contained in Minangkabau cultural wedding ceremonies which were collected through structured interviews with pantuns’ speakers. The results of this study are: (1) the structure of the pantun in wedding ceremonies in West Pasaman Regency, divided into physical and mental structures and; (2) the social function of pantuns in Minangkabau weddings includes (a) a means of communication, (b) identity of the Minangkabau people, (c) decoration of the oral tradition of the Minangkabau people, (d) a means of preaching, (e) a means of educating.

Abstract

Oral literature has now penetrated into written literature to extend the life of intangible cultural heritage. In the case of oral literature, the name of Pintu Village has been written into the Babad Ponorogo book. Pintu Village is one of the 17 villages in Jenangan District, Ponorogo. The village has a story so the name is taken from that story as well. Therefore, this study aims to describe the human relations of oral literature in Pintu Jenangan Ponorogo Village. Until now, oral literature originating from Pintu Village has a strong existence. For this reason, in this study, researchers will explore the relationship between the human dignity of the Pintu Village oral literature, as well as its function for human life. The relationship of human dignity focuses on the four human relationships, namely humans with God (his creatures), humans with fellow humans, humans with themselves, and humans with nature. Interviews and observations were carried out as a form of extracting data related to the object of research. Furthermore, the analysis uses two theories, namely the interactive analysis of Kluckholn and Strodtbeck and the structural functional analysis of Talcott Parsons. The two theories will lead to the four human relations and the function of literary works as a social system. The results of data mining show that there are four human relations in the oral literature of Pintu Jenangan Ponorogo Village.
