Abstract

This study examines the representation of Jombang district as a santri city. The purpose of this study is to describe the extent to which the representation of the mention of Jombang district as a santri city is examined from the use of language in public spaces that can reflect these nicknames. The data in this study are forty forms of language use on billboards, shop names, road signs, and general signs on other roads that can reflect the designation of Jombang district as a santri city. This is a qualitative descriptive research. The theory used is the basic theory from Landry and Bourhis (1997) which focuses on the study of landscape linguistics which refers to information functions and symbolic functions. The results showed that there were five ways of representing Jombang as a santri city, namely (1) representation through naming shops, buildings, and community groups using Arabic which was written using Latin letters, (2) representation through naming streets, alleys, and institutions using names. family or the founder of the Islamic boarding school, (3) representation through the provision of special information for the boarding school students, (4) representation through the promotion of Islamic boarding school-based schools, and (5) representation through other objects. The methods of representation are divided into six categories of language signs in public spaces, namely in the category of road signs, advertising or promotional signs, warning signs, building names, information signs, and objects. There were also factors that influenced the presence of language signs in public spaces that represented Jombang as a santri city, namely (1) being close to the boarding school area, (2) following trend which is done by other subjects around the boarding school, (3) the need for the existence of an institution, and (4) information facilities for the general public.

Abstract

In this study, the register of players for the online game Dragon Raja:SEA is discussed. Due to the uniqueness of the language used in the speech group, this research is needed to understand the specific language they use which can only be understood by members of the speech group. The purpose of this study was to analyze the form, meaning, and function of registers in the game Dragon Raja: SEA. The purpose of this study was to analyze the form, meaning, and function of registers in the game Dragon Raja: SEA. The approach used is a qualitative approach. The data was collected using the conversational engagement listening technique and the advanced technique using note-taking and recording techniques. The data source of this research is the online game player Dragon Raja: SEA. The data source of this research is the online game player Dragon Raja: SEA. The data required is in the form of sentences containing registers. The data analysis method used is descriptive qualitative method with stages 1) collecting data, 2) transcribing oral data into written data, 3) analyzing data according to register theory, and 4) concluding the data obtained. The results found are 1) forms that are divided into words, phrases, abbreviations; 2) meaning; and 3) functions, which consist of a) summarizing orders, b) facilitating communication, c) establishing intimacy, d) giving insults, and e) giving praise.

Abstract

The phonotactic system is one of the interesting phonological systems to explain because it is the system that regulates the existence, abilities, and inability of phoneme combinations of a language. To that end, this article describes the Kaur language phonotactic system which includes (1) the cluster phonotactic system and (2) the consonant series phonotactic system. The data in this study were sourced from six key informants who were domiciled in Kaur Regency (Bengkulu Province) with the criteria of being between 50-65 years old, native Kaur tribe, never left their native area, mastered Kaur language and culture well, and communicative. Data was collected through interviews and recording devices. Data were analyzed to determine the cluster and consonant series with the help of a speech analyzer. The results showed that in Kaur language (KL) there are 14 clusters (/pl/, /bl/, /gl/, /mp/, /mb/, /nt/, /nd/, /st/, /ɲc/, /ɲɟ/, /ɲcl/, /ŋk/, /ŋg/, /ŋgl/) and 21 series: /mp, mb, nt, nd, ns, ɲc, ɲɟ, ŋk, ŋg, ŋs, ʕb, ʕt, ʕd, ʕc, ʕk, ʕs, sk, st, ʔm, ʔ-ʕ, ʔ-mp/. In KL there is a unique consonant vowel sequence (homorgan consonant series). There are three rules if-then to explain the cluster of KL and five rules if-then to explain the series of KL consonants. KL has a unique phonotactic system so that this study contributes to the development of KL.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah Pertama, untuk mendeskripsikan fenomenologi Band Ruangbaca yang berupaya untuk mengampanyekan atau meningkatkan budaya literasi. Kedua, fenomena budaya literasi dalam kumpulan lirik lagu pada Album di Belantara Kata yang terdiri dari sebelas lagu oleh Ruangbaca. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah teknik baca-catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) ada fenomena upaya mengampanyekan atau meningkatkan budaya literasi di masyarakat melalui lagu. 2) latar belakang terciptanya lirik lagu dalam Album di Belantara Kata sangat berpengaruh dengan upaya mereka meningkatkan minat literasi masyarakat dengan penggunaan kata perpustakaan, buku, manusia, dan hubungan diantara ketiganya.

Abstract

Ayodia Park and Puring Park are one of the parks located in DKI Jakarta. In the park there are many linguistic landscapes that can be studied and analyzed in the midst of English globalization. The Indonesian language is present as the national language for the development and education it deserves. This research aims to study the use of language for markers on two parks in the Capital viewed from information and symbolic functions. This method of research is qualitatively descriptive using the approaches of Spolsky and Coper (1997) as well as Landry and Bourhis (1991). The results of the research showed that the use of markers in Ayodia Park and South Jakarta Puring Park has several boards, namely officials, zone labels, regulations, ban boards and warning boards. These boards use a variety of materials, ranging from cement, zinc, fiber, posters with a combination of attractive colors, like red, white, green, orange, and yellow. The language used is mostly Indonesian, there are also some monolinguistic and bilingual boards. From the overall analysis it is known that of several elements of LL Sapolsky and Cooper namely (1) street signs, (2) advertising signes, (3) warnings and prohibitions, (4) the names of buildings, (5) information sign, (6) warning sign, (7) objects, and (8) graffiti used in Puring Park and Ayodya Park. These eight elements have very important functions and utilities for the users of the public area, that is, the general public. By using and managing these linguistic landscape elements well, parks like Puring Park and Ayodya Park can be a pleasant, informative, and safe environment for its visitors. AbstrakTaman Ayodia dan Taman Puring adalah salah satu taman yang terletak di DKI Jakarta. Dalam taman terdapat banyak lanskap linguistik yang dapat dikaji dan dianalisis di tengah pengglobalisasian bahasa Inggris. Bahasa Indonesia hadir sebagai bahasa nasional untuk pembangunan dan pendidikan yang sudah sepatutnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji penggunaan bahasa untuk papan penanda pada dua taman di Ibu Kota dilihat dari fungsi informasi dan simbolik. Metode penelitian ini kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan Spolsky dan Coper (1997) serta Landry dan Bourhis (1991). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan papan penanda di Taman Ayodia dan Taman Puring Jakarta Selatan terdapat beberapa papan, yaitu papan peresmian, papan tanda pelabelan zona area, papan peraturan, papan larangan, dan papan peringatan. Papan ini menggunakan berbagai material, mulai dari semen, seng, fiber, poster dengan kombinasi warna-warna yang mengundang atensi, seperti merah, putih, hijau, orange, dan kuning. Bahasa yang digunakan lebih banyak berbahasa Indonesia, ada pula beberapa papan yang monolinguistik dan bilingual. Dari keseluruhan analisis diketahui bahwa dari beberapa elemen LL Sapolsky dan Cooper yaitu (1) tanda jalan, (2) tanda iklan, (3) peringatan dan larangan, (4) nama-nama gedung, (5) tanda informasi, (6) tanda peringatan, (7) objek, dan (8) grafiti digunakan di Taman Puring dan Taman Ayodya. Kedelapan elemen ini memiliki fungsi dan kegunaan yang sangat penting bagi pengguna area publik yaitu masyarakat luas. Dengan memanfaatkan dan mengelola elemen-elemen lanskap linguistik ini dengan baik, taman seperti Taman Puring dan Taman Ayodya dapat menjadi lingkungan yang menyenangkan, informatif, dan aman bagi pengunjungnya.

Abstract

Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran kuantitatif tentang persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan ChatGPT dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, yang merupakan mata kuliah wajib di kurikulum perguruan tinggi. Data dikumpulkan melalui penggunaan kuesioner dengan skala Likert mengenai persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan ChatGPT dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Selanjutnya, prospek dan hambatan penggunaan AI dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia didasarkan pada hasil deskriptif kuantitatif dari persepsi siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ChatGPT dianggap mudah digunakan untuk mengerjakan tugas, dapat memberikan informasi tambahan dan meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa, dapat memberikan jawaban yang tepat sehingga mahasiswa merasa puas dengan jawabannya, dan dapat meningkatkan dorongan dan keterlibatan mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dosen harus membatasi dan membantu mahasiswa agar alat bantu berbasis kecerdasan buatan membantu pembelajaran, bukan menghambatnya. Dosen diharapkan dapat berfungsi sebagai fasilitator dan meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia berbasis proyek.
