Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the intrinsic elements (theme, plot, characters and characterizations, setting, point of view of the story) in the 2008 animated film Kung Fu Panda directed by Melissa Cobb, and to find out the values ​​contained in the animated film. The type of research used is qualitative research. The research data source is the animated film Kung Fu Panda 2008 in English and using Arabic translation by Shimaa Adel. The object of this research is the intrinsic elements in the 2008 animated film Kung Fu Panda published by the Layarkaca21.com website and the values ​​contained in the animated film. The method used to analyze the data is a description of the analysis. The results of the analysis of the intrinsic elements and values ​​contained in the 2008 film Kung Fu Panda. The theme contained in this film is struggle. The plot contained in this film is a mixed plot. The characters in this film are Poo, Tai Lung, Grand Master Oogway, Master Shifu, Tigress, Viper, Monkey, Mantis, Crane, Tuan Ping, Zeng, Commander Vachir. The setting in this film is a valley of peace. The point of view used in this film is in the first person, namely Po. The values ​​contained in this film are sincerity to achieve goals, patience over obstacles, suggestions to help each other.

Abstract

This study examines al-muḥassināt al-lafẓiyyah (phonetic and verbal rhetorical devices) found in the song album by Muṣṭafā ʿĀṭif. The purpose of this research is to identify words and expressions that possess aesthetic value and rhetorical influence on listeners through the lyrics sung by Muṣṭafā ʿĀṭif. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected using documentation techniques by reviewing, listening to, and analyzing the song lyrics in the album. The data sources consist of two types: online sources, specifically YouTube, and library sources, namely books related to rhetorical and balāghah studies. The findings reveal that the album contains 16 instances of jinās and 61 instances of sajʿ. Among the 16 jinās, 3 are classified as jinās tām within the category of jinās mumāthil, while of the 61 sajʿ, 11 are categorized as sajʿ mutawāzī and the remaining 50 as sajʿ muṭarraf.

Abstract

Alkhallat+ is an anthology film that portrays stories reflecting the culture and daily lives of people in Saudi Arabia. The film presents four different narratives centered on themes of deception and manipulation in various social situations. Each story conveys a distinct message, namely theft, morality, infidelity, and dishonesty. However, all four narratives share a common thread: every human action generates social factors that dominate the impact of those actions. The characters in each story display diverse personality traits, highlighting various aspects of human behavior and the consequences that arise from individual actions. The purpose of this study is to examine the humanistic values embodied by the characters in the film Alkhallat+. This research employs a literary psychology approach based on Abraham Maslow’s humanistic theory of the hierarchy of needs. Using a qualitative approach and content analysis method, the primary data source of this study is the film Alkhallat+. The findings indicate that characters such as Turky, Sara, and others exhibit diverse psychological responses to life pressures, love, the pursuit of self-esteem, and efforts toward self-actualization. Physiological needs, safety needs, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization are depicted realistically throughout the narrative.

Abstract

This research aims to determine how MAN 1 Yogyakarta students use social media to search for Arabic language learning resources and how the Use and Gratifications theory which states that media cannot influence the content someone chooses, including as supporting media for learning, can explain students' behavior in using it. social media for learning Arabic can explain students' behavior in using social media to learn Arabic. This research also aims to find out how MAN 1 Yogyakarta students benefit from using social media to find Arabic language learning resources. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive method to understand other people's understanding of a phenomenon. Data collection in this research was by questionnaire and then the data was analyzed thematically. The results of this research found several ways for students to obtain and use learning information on social media. Students are influenced by the teacher to follow content related to learning Arabic, then the algorithm on social media used by students directs students to related content according to students' interest in content in the form of images or videos, students carry out their own searches, especially on social media Instagram and YouTube. The use and gratification theory can explain students' behavior in using social media as a medium to search for Arabic language learning resources, students have full control over the choice of social media used to search for learning resources, so that social media can be used as a learning medium to help students in independent learning .

Abstract

The Qasida “Lakal Khairu Haddistni Bidzobyati ‘Amiri” is a qasida written by Imam Al-Haddad in his Diwan. This qasida contains zihaf, illat, and changes in the wazan. This study was conducted to determine the bahar, wazan, zihaf, and illat in the qasida “Lakal Khairu Haddistni Bidzobyati ‘Amiri”. This research is a library research, which is a type of study that refers to written sources. The researcher collected journals, books, magazines, and other documents related to the discussion. The researcher also used the analysis method formulated by Al-Khalil bin Ahmad Al-Farohidi, namely the science of ‘arudh. The researcher used Imam Al-Haddad’s Diwan as the main reference. The focus of this study is the identification of the bahar used and the changes in wazan in this qasida. The results show that this qasida uses Bahar Thowil, contains the zihaf Qobdh, and the illat Hadhf. The conclusions reached by the researcher are as follows: Zihaf Qobdh in ‘arudh occurs in 122 words, in dharb 122 words, in hashyu from shadar 109 words, in hashyu from ‘ajuz 67 words. There is only one illat, which is illat Hadhf in the 91st verse

Abstract

This article is derived from an undergraduate thesis that analyzes the intrinsic elements of the film Suad (2021) directed by Ayten Amin using a structuralist approach. The study aims to examine how intrinsic elements-namely theme, characters and characterization, plot, setting, point of view, language style, and moral message-interact to construct the overall meaning of the film. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a library research design. The primary data source is the film Suad, while secondary data consist of books, academic journals, and previous studies related to structuralism and film analysis. The findings reveal that the central theme of the film is the search for identity and psychological alienation experienced by an adolescent girl within a conservative social environment. The main character is portrayed through strong psychological characterization, supported by a linear plot that emphasizes everyday routines and emotional tension. The setting, both spatial and temporal, reflects social pressure and emotional isolation, while the limited third-person point of view allows viewers to observe the character’s inner conflict without explicit moral judgment. The language style is realistic and minimalist, relying heavily on visual expression and silence rather than dialogue. Overall, the film conveys a profound moral message concerning the importance of empathy, emotional support, and mental health awareness, particularly for adolescents. This study concludes that Suad presents a coherent structural unity in which intrinsic elements function synergistically to deliver a strong social and psychological critique.

Abstract

This article is derived from an undergraduate thesis entitled At-Tamyīz al-ʿIrqī Ḍidda al-Filasṭīniyyīn fī Fīlm 200 Metr li-Amīn Nāyifah. The study aims to analyze forms of racial discrimination against Palestinians as represented in the film 200 Meter using the sociology of literature approach proposed by Alan Swingewood and supported by discrimination theory formulated by Fulthoni et al. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a library research design. The primary data source is the film 200 Meter, while secondary data include books, academic journals, and relevant reports. The findings reveal four main forms of discrimination: permit and labor discrimination, smuggling practices, discriminatory treatment at checkpoints and vehicles with Israeli license plates, and discrimination among Palestinians themselves. Furthermore, the film reflects social realities experienced by Palestinians, such as restrictions on movement, labor dependency, identity fragmentation, and systemic control. The study concludes that 200 Meter functions as a socio-literary reflection that critically represents Palestinian lived experiences under structural discrimination.
