Abstract

Globalization's huge expansion of information technology has become a crucial component in the Indonesian people's desire for Hallyu. Hallyu is linked with the realm of entertainment, including music, theater, cinema, and a variety of programs beautifully packaged to promote Korean culture. The growth of South Korean films may also be witnessed in how overseas viewers can appreciate them. The Negotiation, for example, is able to reach the Indonesian market and is available on the local video-on-demand streaming program, Vidio. There are a variety of lobbying and negotiation strategies which can be linked to The Negotiation. Five scenes and dialogues with messages related to communication techniques and business negotiations were selected and analyzed using the semiotic theory of Ferdinand De Saussure's model. A qualitative approach is used in this research procedure. This qualitative research adheres to the symbolic interactionism paradigm, which views human activity as the construction of meaning.

Abstract

The case of bullying that occurred at SMPN 16 Malang and affected MS became a topic of discussion in various media, including online media. In reporting a case, media is a reality construct. A number of pros and cons become interesting perspectives raised in the media, including radarmalang.jawapos.com. This study aims to find out how the reporting construction is on news content related to the bullying case that occurred on MS student at SMP 16 Surabaya using the framing analysis method according to Zhongdan Pan & Konsicki. The research results mention that the news construction made by radarmalang.jawapos.com tends to take the side of the government and related institutions and the media tends to bully the school. This is proven by the five news analyzed, none of which highlights the clarification or defense from the school. Radar Malang tends to raise topics that blame the school and the authorities (government, education, culture and arts department, KPAI) framed as if washing their hands of this case. The images selected to accompany the journalism news also tend to put the school in a corner. Radar Malang also tends to overly protect the perpetrators of bullying acts with more subtle diction choices.

Abstract

In essence, humans are social beings where they need each other to interact and communicate. This is also needed by children with special needs even though they have significant differences in terms of physical, psychological, cognitive and social which makes it take a longer time and process to understand something and achieve life goals. This research was conducted to determine the role of parents in forming self-concept, providing motivation, and increasing the confidence of children with special needs when interacting in the community. This research was carried out based on social interaction theory as the research basis. When humans interact there is interpersonal communication, namely communication between two or more people directly where the sender and receiver of messages can exchange messages directly. The research subjects were three mothers of children with special needs with mental retardation, namely children who have significantly below average intelligence and behavioral inability to adapt during development. This research method is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques directed interviews and documentation. Parents admit that educating them requires more patience, process, and time than children in general. The results of the research through interviews show that the role of parents is carried out in a concrete way by encouraging children to want to learn, be independent and interact with others and tell what is good and bad. So it was concluded that the role of parents is very important in forming self-concept, giving motivation and confidence to children with special needs when interacting in the community.

Abstract

The journey of the national film industry has a long history. Gradually, the film industry has become a mere commercial industry dominated by horror and comedy films. This has resulted in the formation of stereotypes that all national films have the same content and do not vary. The films "cin(T)a" and "3 Hati 2 Dunia 1 Cinta" present as new variations in national cinema, which carry the unusual theme of religious pluralism. Gamson and Modigliani's framing analysis sees mass media discourse as consisting of a number of packages to form the construction of an event. There are two aspects to framing. First, choose reality. Second, how the media presents that reality. Gamson and Modigliani's framing analysis consists of two elements: framing devices and reasoning devices. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative method. Descriptive qualitative methods produce up-to-date data that can be used in the development of science. The results of this study found that the films "cin(T)a" and "3 Hati 2 Dunia 1 Cinta" portray religious pluralism as a beautiful thing, and people should be able to live in harmony and comfort despite differences in society, but it does not deny that although the two films try to show the relationship between religions from a positive side, the relationship between religions is still something that cannot be accepted by some people. Based on the results of the study, the author concludes that religious pluralism is a beautiful thing in the lives of Indonesian people. However, many things must be considered if religious pluralism is associated in the context of romance, especially to the marriage ladder.

Abstract

Korean Popular or often abbreviated as K-Pop, the fever is not only felt only in Indonesia, but has gone global. The craze for K-Pop music and Korean drama movies is an inseparable part of Korean fever in various countries. Korean popular culture fever also affects fashion in Indonesia, this can be seen from young people in Indonesia who often imitate Korean fashion. The desire of young people to follow this style of Korean popular culture fashion gives rise to an achievement of their self-actualization. Many teenagers imitate the Korean style, ranging from hairstyles, clothing models, accessories, to lifestyle and how to interact with peers. This is because they really like Korean popular culture such as Korean movies, Korean boy bands, to top Korean stars. One of the reasons is the beauty of the style or style of the film players and boy bands, the beauty of the appearance and physique of the stars, and the dramatic and unique storyline of Korean films. The theory of symbolic interactionism has three concepts, namely mind, self, and society, where these three concepts are strongly influenced by the interpretation of others who make contact or interact with us. The emergence of popular Korean culture is used as a symbol of interaction followed by young Jakartans. The clothes we wear, the way we walk and talk, the work we do, are perceived by others as symbols we build to tell others about who we really are. Who we are is called self-concept (Jones, 2001:145). The concept of interactionism is a guideline to analyze the self-actualization of Jakarta's youth. They fulfill their self-actualization needs, that is, fulfill their desire to be what they want to be.
