Abstract

The increasing demand for tubeless tires from consumers makes the production capacity of the machines involved must be increased. Some of the things that become a problem are regarding the installation time of the material using several methods so that there are variations in the methods used in the material installation process. There are risks from each method used, starting from health reasons and also the productivity of the machine itself. After conducting a 4M analysis, we found a problem point in the method section, namely during the process of installing the ply material. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to design a construction tool for installing roll ply material, design a 3-phase motor control system, analyze the effect of having a tool for installing roll ply material on the productivity of BTU. The method used by researchers is PDCA as a determinant of the root causes of problems. REBA method for ergonomic analysis of employee work postures when installing ply material. The SMED method is used to analyze work steps that have no use value to the production proces.

Abstract

Bald tubeless scrap is a defect in the form of a hole (usually long) in the inner liner area due to a lack of compound bank material on the squeegee and tubeless parts. Production data for December 2022-February 2023 shows the result that there are 156 Pcs or 174 PPM of bald tubeless scrap. This is caused by the compound bank in the empty calender which can cause bald tubeless scrap.The method used in this research is a modification method, with the aim of solving existing problems by modifying the compound feeding system and adding broken compound detectors and minimal compound, they are made.The results of this research are the modification of the electric compound feeding system and the addition of minimal compound detectors and compound breaks. These results have an impact on the reduction of bald tubeless scrap by 117 Pcs of greentire or 174 PPM in April-June 2023.

Abstract

The Plant Passenger Car Radial (PCR) produces radial tires and has a Non-Reinforcing Materials Department with various divisions, including the Ply Bias cutting division. One common issue in the bias cutting process is folded ply scraps, mainly found at the end of the treatment roll. Analysis revealed that the problem resulted from the start-stop operation of the let-off motor, causing the treatment roll to twist and the plies to fold. To address this issue, modifications were made to the let-off motor. An inverter was added to adjust the motor speed according to the ply width, and the PLC program was modified to synchronize the motor speed with the HMI recipe. Through five successful trials, the motor speed was effectively adjusted for different ply sizes, reducing the residual rotation of the treatment roll. Data collected showed that prior to the modification, DBC-3 had 205 kg of folded ply scraps in March 2023. After the modification in May 2023, the folded ply scrap decreased to 138 kg, a reduction of 32.7% compared to March.

Abstract

The process of goods transactions carried out at PT ABC is not efficient because in the transaction process the goods requester has to go to the technical department, FI department and ADH to ask for transaction approval in the form of a signature. The purpose of this research is to design a goods distribution application to streamline the transaction process and digitize the goods transaction process. This study uses the Waterfall method in designing goods distribution applications. An application made based on Android with Firebase as a database. The user will make a transaction using an Android cellphone, then the transaction data will enter the database and send a request for approval to the technical department, FI department and ADH. Then the three parties will agree to use a special account. The transaction process has been successfully digitized through the application so that users can connect with the goods distribution application.

Abstract

Hitanol is a granular chemical that is used as a raw material to make compound bladders. The manufacturing process of compound bladder starts by weighing the chemicals. Before the weighing process, hitanol undergoes an agglomeration or accumulation of particles that causes hitanol to agglomerate and makes it difficult for the operator to weigh. As a result, operator has to do the crushing process so that the hitanol returns to granular form. The crushing process is currently being done manually by hitting the hitanol using iron stick. These problems were a driving force in the design of the hitanol crusher with an electro pneumatic system. The results of the design of the hitanol crusher using a double acting cylinder with a stroke length of 250 mm controlled by electric signal. The air flow in the pneumatik cylinder is controlled by a 5/2 single coil solenoid valve that triggered by timer and relay.

Abstract

AFG is a manufacturing company that produces various kinds of motorcycle tires. In the production process PT. AFG has several processes, one of which is the assembly process. In this process where several components such as tread, bead, ply, and IB are combined. Thus, the output of this assembly process is a green tire. The assembly here uses a BTU (bladder turn up) type machine, more precisely on the IMC.05.MC.02 engine. On this machine there are several problems that cause production to be disrupted due to this problem. The cause of this problem is that the components used have decreased in performance because they have been installed for years (obsolete) and also the components have been produced again so modifications are made. After being modified where to increase the type of servo drive which originally used the MR-J2S to use the servo drive with the MR-J4 type. After this modification was made on the IMC 05 MC 05 engine where previous problems such as engine errors etc. had disappeared or there were no the same problems so the machine can produce smoothly without any error.

Abstract

Several studies have been carried out to apply Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the environment manufacturing to increase efficiency and productivity. However, no comprehensive report is available about IoT methods and technology applied in automatic cutting machines in the Building Tire process. A systematic literature review was conducted to fill this gap by adopting an approach systematic through literature searches from various databases (Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, IEEE Explore, and MDPI). This review analyzes the methods and technologies that support deep IoT implementation manufacturing environment, including REST API integration with ERP, Vision-Based Data Reader, algorithms decision tree, as well as a comprehensive integration approach in Smart Factory through Horizontal, Vertical Integration Integration, and End-to-End Integration. The literature review found various supporting technologies such as smart sensors, cloud computing, big data analytics, edge computing, and digital twin platforms play a role important in IoT implementation. It was found that the implementation of IoT allows monitoring the condition of machines in real-time, fast data analysis, and significantly increase production efficiency. Besides that, Algorithms such as decision trees are able to classify real and fake data with a high level of accuracy high, supports online validation and improves system reliability. Due to the huge potential in IoT, methods and the technologies examined in this literature form a solid foundation for IoT development in manufacturing environment, facilitating adaptation to the Industrial 4.0 era by creating adaptive systems, efficient, and responsive to changing market needs.

Abstract

Construction of a powder pass machine with an inverter control system to enhance the efficiency of powder application in cable production. The machine is designed to evenly distribute powder onto cables, using a 3-phase AC motor controlled by a Toshiba VF-S15 inverter to regulate the rotation speed. The tool's design includes a frame made of UNP steel, a screw conveyor, and a control system with a selector switch, pilot lamp, and potentiometer. The manufacturing process involves utilizing existing materials in the factory and installing electronic components such as MCB and inverter. Testing was conducted on the IS-17 machine at PT XYZ, cable production department, to ensure the machine operates according to specifications and achieves the desired results. The results demonstrate that the machine efficiently and consistently distributes powder, improving the quality of cable production.

Abstract

Setiap perusahaan memiliki standar untuk memastikan kualitas produknya. Salah satu proses penting dalam penjaminan produk di PT. XYZ adalah proses kalibrasi. Proses kalibrasi ini melibatkan pembuatan dan pengujian produk, khususnya kalibrasi kecepatan motor menggunakan Tachometer. Namun, karena lamanya waktu persiapan proses kalibrasi, diperlukan solusi internal. Analisis fishbone menunjukkan bahwa penyebab utama lamanya waktu persiapan kalibrasi,karna pemasangan serta penyiapan komponen yang memakan waktu. Oleh karena itu, dirancanglah Alat Bantu Kalibrasi Tachometer yang mencakup sistem kontrol dan perhitungan BEP (Break Even Point) untuk menentukantitik impas biaya pembuatan alat dibandingkan biaya kalibrasi eksternal. Setelah itu, uji coba dilakukan untuk menilai sistem kontrol kecepatan motor dan menentukan titik impas biaya. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem kontrol berfungsi dengan baik dan mampu menentukan waktu titik impas, sehingga mengurangi kebutuhankalibrasi eksternal dan biaya terkait.

Abstract

PT ASD adalah perusahaan manufaktur terkemuka di Asia Tenggara yang memproduksi berbagai jenis ban berkualitas tinggi untuk berbagai kendaraan dan produk karet terkait. Plant I perusahaan ini khusus memproduksi ban motor dengan beberapa departemen, termasuk Material, Building, Curing, dan Final Inspection. Departemen Building menggabungkan komponen ban menjadi ban mentah (Green Tire) menggunakan mesin seperti BTU, HBT, dan Jingyie. Namun terdapat permasalahan, yaitu variasi waktu dalam proses barcode scanning terjadi karena posisi barcode di tengah ban dan beberapa barcode tertutup tire spacer. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, akan dilakukan pemindahan posisi barcode ke bagian luar tire. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan modifikasi sistem barcode. Modifikasi sistem barcode dilakukan dengan menambahkan program pada PLC menggunakan software GX Works 2. Hasil modifikasi menunjukan bahwa proses barcode scanning dapat dilakukan dengan waktu yang lebih cepat dengan rata-rata durasi scanning 184,5 detik dari yang awalnya 387,5 detik.
