Abstract

This paper aims to find aspects of ecumenical mission in the local wisdom of ma'bua kalebu in Seko Lemo. The diverse teachings of church dogmatics today often trigger disharmonious relations between churches and tend to criticize each other's church members. By looking at this situation, the problem no longer shows Jesus' hope in John 17: 20-23 that all his disciples would be one just as he and the Father are one. In contrast to this situation, it seems that the relationship between the churches in Seko Lemo is very harmonious. This article uses qualitative research through a descriptive approach with observation and interviews and literature study. The study found that the local wisdom of ma'bua kalebu shows parallels with the concept of ecumenical mission according to John 17:20-23. This is because the basic essence of ma'bua kalebu in the Seko Lemo community is to support the harmony and unity of the community, to keep the community abiding by the prevailing norms, and as a medium of resolution when problems occur in the community. This local wisdom has a strong influence in uniting communities, families, and religious life in Seko Lemo.

Abstract

In facing cultural and technological shifts in the digital era, there is a phenomenon where congregations tend to shift focus from service goals which should honor God towards achieving self-satisfaction. This shows a shift in values that influence the practice of church services, which should be in accordance with God's will and which should honor and glorify God. Therefore, a good and proportional leadership pattern is needed, such as the leadership pattern shown by Moses in the Bible. Through these conditions, this research tries to analyze a "Mosaic leadership pattern: improving the quality of church services in the digital era." The aim of this research is to explore how the Moses leadership pattern can be applied to improve the quality of church services in the digital era, as well as the implications for church leaders in improving their service practices amidst the challenges of an ever-evolving era. The research method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method approach. In this research, the author wants to discuss how church services are in the digital era and what Moses' leadership pattern was in leading the Israelites and how Moses' leadership pattern can be applied to improve the quality of church services in the digital era.

Abstract

John 12:13 contains a quotation from Psalm 118:25-26. In the quotation there is an addition of the clause ὁ βασιλεύς τοῦ Ἰσραήλ which is the acclamation of the crowd, thus making a difference in meaning between the text of John 12:13 and the text of Psalm 118:25-26. One of the focuses of this study lies in the phrase βασιλεύς in John 12:13 which is not found in any other Synoptic gospel. The phrase βασιλεύς needs to be explored by looking at the meaning contained in the text of the Septuagint (LXX). The purpose of this study was to reconnect the meaning of βασιλεύς in the text of John 12:13 by relating Psalm 118:25-26 as a quote used by John. The method in this study uses intertextual. Research shows in the Septuagint (LXX) that the phrase βασιλεύς means messenger/leader of Israel. The phrase βασιλεύς also shows that Jesus was the second Moses to lead God's people in deliverance from the bondage of sin to eternal life.

Abstract

In the journey of marriage, challenges serve as tests for the commitments uttered in the sacred vow before God. Despite Christianity's rejection of divorce, the reality reveals cases of marital dissolution. This research employs a qualitative literature review approach, delving into Biblical verses to address the ethical concerns surrounding divorce in the context of Christian values. The study explores whether individuals who have experienced divorce can remain active in church service, illustrating diverse perspectives within the Christian community. The research focuses on providing solution-oriented views to facilitate recovery and support for those undergoing divorce while upholding Christian ethical norms. Marriage is not merely a formality but a sacred calling to complement one another, grounded in loyalty and affection. The integrity of marriage is sustained through adherence to Biblical teachings and the example set by Jesus Christ, perceived as a calling to make a positive impact on couples and society.

Abstract

Non-violence ethics wants to invite parents to play their duties and roles as non-violence ethics educators. This research was carried out using qualitative methods with a narrative-descriptive approach. It is hoped that through a narrative-descriptive approach, the context can be investigated to see how the role of parents becomes educators. At GMIT Emmaus Liliba, cases of violence against children are pretty high, and, unfortunately, violence is carried out by those closest to them, such as parents and other family members. Most parents at GMIT Emmaus Liliba understand that a child needs to be educated with full attention and affection in adolescence. However, for them, violence is also necessary if the child is disobedient. Robert L. Holmes believes that awareness, consistency, and never giving up are the first steps in parents' efforts to present new, creative, non-violent educational patterns. Therefore, non-violence education is the path that needs to be chosen so that the implementation of education in the family improves the lives of teenagers aged 15-17.

Abstract

The article explores the socio-rhetorical interpretation of Titus 2:1-10, focusing on the Christian family's obligations. Titus, one of the Pastoral Epistles, addresses issues within the church community. With its distinctive language style and historical background, Titus offers advice to church leaders and addresses the challenges faced in Crete. Through socio-rhetorical analysis, the study delves into the inner texture and intertexture of the text, examining the implied author, narrator, and characters' roles in conveying the message. The text emphasizes the importance of personal conduct aligned with sound teaching, particularly within the family structure. Titus advocates for healthy relationships and behavior within households, influencing broader community dynamics. Employing qualitative research methods, the study integrates socio-cultural contexts to elucidate the text's message. Ultimately, Titus 2:1-10 serves as a rhetorical strategy urging adherence to sound doctrine, with the family serving as the foundational unit for moral education and behavior. Upholding these teachings fosters a community characterized by authenticity and virtue, essential for every individual within the family unit.
