Abstract

Flies play a big role in public health problems because they serve as vectors for disease transmission. Diseases transmitted by flies include typhus abdominalis, salmonellosis, cholera, and dysentery. The use of natural insecticides is a safe control alternative, one of which is by utilizing plants that are easy to grow, obtain, process, and beneficial for health such as fragrant pandan leaves. The purpose of the study was to test the effectiveness of the fragrant pandan leaf extract reed diffuser as a vector repellent of the house fly (Musca domestica). This type of research is experimental with a Quasi Experimental design using a Group Random Design (RAK). The study sample was 120 adult house flies randomly taken from the environment and used for 3 repetitions. Data were analyzed using the One Way Anova test with an error rate (?) = 0.05 The results showed that the average mortality of house flies killed at concentrations of 15%, 20%, and 25% with a fragrant pandan leaf extract diffuser was 5 (50%), 7 (70%), and 9 (90%) respectively. There is a significant difference with (p-value = 0.003). It is recommended for future researchers to use time variations to look at the mortality of house flies (Musca domestica).

Abstract

Hospital liquid waste is waste from medical activities in the form of liquids containing organic compounds, toxic chemicals, and pathogenic microorganisms that are harmful to health and the environment. The BOD, COD, and TSS parameters can be used to measure the content of organic and inorganic matter in hospital liquid waste. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of silica sand and activated carbon filters in reducing the levels of BOD, COD, and TSS of liquid waste at the Boalemo Regency Farmers and Fishermen Hospital. The type of research is Quasi Experiment with a Pre Test-Post Test Group design. The sampling technique is Grab Sample. Wastewater samples were taken from a single reservoir (inlet) and analyzed before and after silica sand and activated carbon filtration. The data analysis technique uses the Paired Sample T Test. The results showed that the BOD and COD levels of hospital liquid waste before and after filtration using silica sand and activated carbon with three filters were obtained as a result of a reduction in BOD levels of 94 mg/L (75.32%) and COD of 95 mg/L (78.21%). Meanwhile, TSS levels increased by 312.1 mg/L caused by saturation of filtration media. This media has been shown to be effective in reducing BOD levels with p-value = 0.000 and COD with p-value = 0.000. However, there was no difference in TSS levels before and after the filtration of silica sand and activated carbon with p-value = 0.109. The Boalemo Regency Farmers and Fishermen Hospital is advised to monitor liquid waste and to further researchers to modify silica sand and activated carbon filtration media with other media to increase its effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of physics learning on the sound topic for intellectually disabled students in phase F at Special Schools, and to find out how teachers adjusted strategies, interactions, and learning media based on students’ characteristics. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with validation using method triangulation. The results showed that physics learning on the sound topic was conducted in three stages: preliminary, core, and closing activities. In the preliminary stage, the teacher greeted, prayed, and gave appreciation, but the learning objectives were not clearly stated. In the core activities, the teacher used the lecture method with textbooks as the main learning resource, while the use of concrete media or technology was minimal. The interaction between teachers and students tended to be one-way, and not all students were actively engaged. In the closing stage, the teacher asked students to independently summarize the material and assigned homework as an evaluation tool. The learning strategies were mostly verbal and had not fully involved multisensory media or individual approaches tailored to students’ needs. In conclusion, the teacher made efforts to adjust the learning strategies to the characteristics of intellectually disabled students in phase F. However, improvement was still needed, particularly in the use of varied learning media, fostering more active interactions, and applying more concrete and participatory learning approaches to enhance learning effectiveness.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the debt settlement mechanism to third party providers of goods and services as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors of the debt settlement mechanism to third party providers of goods and services. The approach that researchers used in this research was a qualitative approach with a descriptive research strategy. This research was carried out at the North Penajam Paser Regency Government from February to March 2025. The informants in this research were 5 (five) informants. The results of this research show that the mechanism that works in resolving debts from third parties providing goods and services is the process of proposing debt recognition from Regional Work Units, reconciling debt data, and carrying out debt reviews as debt recognition which will be budgeted for in the Amendment to the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget. In addition, the Review Results Report becomes a reference for the Regional Financial and Asset Agency to record in the Regional Government Financial Report. Debt settlement will be carried out if the work package owed has been stated and included in the sub-activities in the Amendment to the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget for the following year. The supporting factor in resolving debts to third party providers of goods and services is the existence of the Minutes of Debt Reconciliation as an initial reference in the process of resolving debts to third party providers of goods and services, while the inhibiting factor is the absence of regulations in the North Penajam Paser Regency Government at the level of regional head regulations that regulate debt management and the commitment of third parties together with regional work units in terms of completing the required documents for debt settlement.
