Abstract

One of the horticultural commodities that are in great demand by almost all Indonesian people is red curly chili. For producers, in creating varieties and selling chili seeds, ideally in line with the preferences of chili farmers. The purpose of this study was to determine the preferences of red curly chili farmers. This research was conducted in Semin District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta from June to July 2023. The sample selection method was purposive sampling, namely farmers who grow red curly chilies in the area. The type of data is primary, with the data collection method through direct interviews with farmers. Data analysis using Conjoint Analysis. The results showed that the five main priorities of farmers' preferences in cultivating red curly chilies were 1) the color of the chilies, namely red, 2) the shape of the chilies, which was elongated, 3) the age of harvesting chilies ranging from 80-100 days, 4) the size of the chilies 10-15 cm , 5) there is shortening of the chili plants starting from the 3rd branch. Furthermore, farmers tend to like chilies that are resistant to Anthracnose/Patek disease, the fruit has tortuous curvatures, plant height is around 100-150 cm, the plant performance is wide, the chili's shelf life is 7-10 days, the chilies fall off, the chili skin thickness is medium, the surface of the chili is smooth, the taste of the chili is spicy, and it is resistant to grapyak caterpillars and fruit flies. Abstract

The involvement of women in household income makes a major contribution to household sustainability. In the other side, women in livelihood activities are considered only as supporters. This study aims to identify the role of women in household income. The approach was used descriptive qualitative. The location is in Wonogiri Regency where is dry land farming area. The results showed that women in farming households relied on natural and human capital, meanwhile women in non-agricultural households maximized physical and financial capital to carry out livelihood strategies. The role of women in household income as the main source of household structure, role in diversification livelihood, household business workers, remittance, and role in household resilience. Women in non-agricultural households play all of these roles, but women in farming households only support the main source of livelihood. That is because the majority of women in farming generate income in kind so that it is felt that they do not contribute much to the household income structure.

Abstract

Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L) is one of Indonesia's leading export commodities which can be processed into a variety of snacks and also a mixture of food products. The Women Farmer Group (KWT) of Sungai Langka Village, Gedong Tataan District, Pesawaran Regency is a cocoa processing business group that processes cocoa products from most of the cocoa farmers in the area. The purpose of this study was to identify the application of the cocoa processing business model to women farmer groups in Sungai Langka Village, Gedong Tataan District, Pesawaran Regency. This research was conducted from June to November 2022. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis through the identification of business models using the Business Model Canvas (BMC). Data collection was carried out using a survey method (interviews) on all 22 KWT members. The results of the study show that there is an advantage in the value element in processed cocoa products in the form of healthy food due to minimal use of chemicals and preservatives so it is good for health. In addition, the KWT Sungai Langka cocoa processing business also has the advantage of supporting local wisdom and economic empowerment of cocoa farmers.

Abstract

Kota Mataram memiliki peluang bisnis yang cukup besar dalam usaha tanaman hias karena berlokasi sangat dekat dengan perumahan dan perkantoran bahkan tempat wisata yang rata-rata membutuhkan tanaman hias sebagai daya tarik bagi lokasi tersebut. Pangsa pasar yang lebih baik akan memberikan sumber keuntungan bagi perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pangsa pasar dan struktur pasar tanaman hias di Kecamatan Ampenan dan Selaparang Kota Mataram. Responden penelitian ini sama dengan jumlah populasi atau disebut dengan sensus sebanyak 15 pengusaha tanaman hias. Analisis data menggunakan analisis pangsa pasar dan struktur pasar (Concentration Ratio, Herfindahl Hirschman Indeks, dan Koefisien Gini). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pangsa pasar tanaman hias di Kecamatan Ampenan dan Selaparang Kota Mataram pada jenis tanaman hias pucuk merah, brokoli dan puring memiliki tingkat kekuatan pasar rendah dengan masing-masing pangsa pasar kurang dari 30%. Nilai concentratio ratio for biggest four (CR4) dan Indeks Hirschman Herfindahl menunjukkan bahwa struktur pasar tanaman hias jenis pucuk merah, brokoli dan puring mengarah pada pasar persaingan sempurna. Analisis struktur pasar dengan menggunakan Koefisien Gini untuk tanaman hias pucuk merah, brokoli dan puring mengarah pada pesaingan oligopoli. Sehingga diharapkan pengusaha tanaman hias dapat lebih meningkatkan lagi kualitas dan keindahan tanaman hias agar mendapatkan harga jual tinggi serta promosi secara efektif dalam memasarkannya untuk menarik perhatian konsumen guna meningkatkan pendapatan usaha yang ada agar dapat bersaing dalam pasar.
