Abstract

Population and economic growth makes electricity energy needs in Indonesia continue to increase every year. Based on the assumption of an average national economic growth growing at 6.1 percent per year and national population growth growing at 1.3 percent per year, according to the national electricity general plan for 2012-2031 Indonesia's average electricity demand is estimated at 11% per year. Increased electricity demand PT PLN (Persero) to be able to meet the needs of the community for electrical energy. Problems that arise in the company are specifically related to damage to the components in the Sipansihaporas hydropower unit which are composed of the main parts, namely turbines and generators. Damage to that section can result in downtime and delay in the production process which results in less effective and efficient machine performance. Effectiveness in the production process needs the right strategy to maintain the machine to operate is by determining the optimal maintenance time interval (Maintenance) of the equipment by using the criticality analysis method. After calculating the criticality analysis method, it was found that the guide vane and runner components are critical components. Furthermore, preventive replacement measures for the guide vane component can be carried out after operating for 4200 hours. The Runner component can also be performed after operating for 15800 hours or during overhaul. While the inspection action for the Guide vane component is performed after operating for 250 hours, the Runner component is carried out after operating for 1200 hours. After checking and checking the Avaibility value of the two components is above 95%

Abstract

The Government of the Republic of Indonesia has established the COVID-19 pandemic as a National Disaster. The government requested that the community conduct social distancing in order to prevent the transmission of Corona Virus or COVID-19. Activities that are usually done outside the home, such as work, study and worship can be carried out inside the house (work from home). The application of social distancing (work from home) has an economic impact on people whose daily income is one of them being an online motorcycle taxi driver. From the research results obtained the application of social distancing (work from home) causes a decrease in online motorcycle taxi driver activity with a percentage ranging from -16.7% to -80.0% with an average value = -57.58%. The decline in activity caused a decrease in online motorcycle taxi driver acceptance with percentages ranging from -5.3% to -87.5% with an average value of -58.14%.

Abstract

Current technological developments are so rapid, so that equipment has become a basic necessity on employment. This means that equipment and technology is an important support in an effort to increase productivity for the type of work. Work posture is the determining point in analyzing the effectiveness of a job. If the work posture carried out by the operator is good and ergonomic, it can be ascertained that the results obtained will be good too. This study aims to evaluate the posture of workers in MSME shoes, where workers are too bent and their legs are bent. Therefore, this study was made so that myaman workers while doing work and can increase the productivity of these MSMEs. Assessment of work posture in this study using the REBA method, the results of the assessment of the four work positions at level 2 with information needing action for that it is necessary to propose improvement of work posture by designing work facilities such as desks and chairs.

Abstract

Research on the optimization of the balance of the production line was conducted at PT. PAP, which is a manufacturing company in the tire retreading industry. The not yet optimal production line has the potential to cause bottlenecks on the production line. The existence of workload imbalance can be seen from the significant variation in idle time from each work station. For this reason, this study was conducted with the aim of optimizing the line balancing which refers to indicators such as: balance delay, line efficiency and total idle time. The method used in this study is the Largest Candidate Rule (LCR) method which is part of the heuristic method. The use of heuristic methods is basically designed to get better results based on certain limitations. From the research results obtained: Balance Delay (D) = 25.05%, Line Efficiency (LE) = 74.95%, and the total idle time is 1.515 seconds. When compared with the initial state before optimization, the results are a decrease in Balance Delay (D) of 28.44%, an increase in Line Efficiency (LE) of 28.44%, and a reduction in total idle time of 3,699 seconds.

Abstract

Injektor merupakan satu komponen utama dalam sistem bahan bakar di antarnya adalah Injektor atau pengabut atau Nozle. Injektor berfungsi untuk menghantarkan bahan bakar dari fuel pump ke dalam silinder pada setiap akhir langkah kompresi dimana torak (piston) mendekati posisi TMA. Dengan perubahan yang diberikan pada injektor kita dapat membandingkan performa pada motor, mulai dari daya dan torsi. karena dengan adanya perubahan pada injektor mempengaruhi suplai bahan bakar ke ruang bakar. Dari analisa penelitian yang dilakukan mendapatkan hasil dari injektor standart dengan daya tertinggi pada injektor standart berada pada putaran 7500 rpm dengan nilai 7,3 Kw. pada torsi tertinggi injektor standart pada putaran 6500 rpm dengan nilai 10,3 Nm dan hasil daya teringgi yang diperoleh pada injektor racing pada puataran 7000 rpm dan 7500 rpm 7,4 Kw. Hasil torsi tertinggi pada putaran 5500 rpm yaitu 12,0 Nm . Maka dapat disimpulkan daya pada injektor racing lebih besar dari pada injektor standart dan torsi pada injektor racing lebih besar dari pada injektor standart Kata kunci : injektor , torsi ,daya. The injector is one of the main components in the fuel system including the injectors or foggers or Nozle. The injector functions to deliver fuel from the fuel pump into the cylinder at the end of the compression stroke where the piston (piston) approaches the TDC position. With the changes given to the injectors we can compare the performance of the motor, starting from power and torque. because the change in the injector affects the fuel supply to the combustion chamber. From the analysis of the research conducted, it was found that the standard injector with the highest power on the standard injector was at 7500 rpm with a value of 7.3 Kw. at the highest torque standard injector at 6500 rpm rotation with a value of 10.3 Nm and the highest power results obtained in racing injectors at 7000 rpm and 7500 rpm 7.4 Kw. The highest torque results at 5500 rpm rotation is 12.0 Nm. So it can be concluded that the power in the racing injectors is greater than the standard injectors and the torque in the racing injectors is greater than the standard injectors. Abstract

ABSTRACT Steel is a material that we often use to make tools, both heavy and light equipment as well as food containers and many others. Steel is the material most widely used as an industrial material, because steel has various physical and mechanical properties. Carbon steel is an alloy between iron and carbon with small amounts of Si, Mn, P, S, and Cu. The nature of carbon steel is very dependent on the carbon content, if the carbon content increases, the strength and hardness will also increase. The property of steel which can undergo great deformation under the influence of high tensile stress without breaking or breaking is called the ductility property. The method used in this research is descriptive method, which is a method used to carefully test an object being studied so that accurate data will be obtained after data collection is complete, data processing will be carried out using a predetermined formula. Average value - diagonal average identification before heat treatment with a pressure load of 2000 grams at point 1 (top) 111.85 at point 2 (middle) 107.4 and at point 3 (bottom) 118.9. Number of hardness of the vickers with a load of 2000 grams at point 1 (top) 296.5 at point 2 (middle) 321.6 and at point 3 (bottom) 262.4. The average number of 1045 carbon steel testing before heat treatment is 293.5. From the conclusion of the study using 1045 carbon steel steel, there can be differences in the average diagonal identification value after heat treatment using water as a coolant with a pressure of 2000 grams at point 1 (above) 71 at point 2 (center) 131.80 and at point 3 ( bottom) 93. The number of vickers hardness with a load of 2000 grams at point 1 (top) 735.8 at point 2 (middle) 213.5 and at point 3 (bottom) 428.8 The average number of testing 1045 carbon steel after heat treatment with water as a coolant is 459.37. The diagonal mean value of identification after heat treatment using oil media as a coolant with a pressure load of 2000 grams at point 1 (above) 96.81 at point 2 (center) 107.54 and at point 3 (bottom) 100.09. Vickers hardness figure with a load of 2000 grams at point 1 (top) 395.7 at point 2 (center) 320.7 at point 3 (bottom) 370.2. The average number of testing 1045 carbon steel after heat treatment using oil media as a coolant with a value of 362.20. The diagonal mean value of identification after heat treatment using air as a coolant with a pressure load of 2000 grams at point 1 (top) 132.51 at point 2 (center) 140.38 and at point 3 (bottom) 125.49. Vickers hardness figure with a load of 2000 grams at point 1 (top) 211.2 at point 2 (center) 188.2 at point 3 (bottom) 235.5. The average number of testing 1045 carbon steel after heat treatment using air as a coolant with a value of 211.63. Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of making composite fiber made from kepok bananas (Musa Acuminata) and to find out how much tensile test (Modulus of elasticity and Modulus of Rapture) composites of fibers made from kepok banana (Musa Acuminata). The study was conducted at the laboratory of the University of North Sumatra, the length of the tensile test object is 15 cm, thickness 0.5 cm and width 1 cm, in this study the writer got a maximum stress value of 32.06407 and a Maximum Load value of 1603,203

Abstract

Pelton turbine is a type of impulse turbine that converts all water energy into velocity energy before entering the turbine runner. The power generated in the water turbine (Pelton turbine) varies depending on the flow or flow of incoming water to turn the turbine.This research was conducted in the mechanical engineering laboratory of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universitas Harapan Medan. The experimental method is the method used in this study. Pelton Turbine performance optimization of bucket slope response and nozzle diameter using statistical software. Based on the results of the Pelton Turbine Testing Graph using the Taguchi method, the response of the bucket slope with the Maximum Rotation nozzle diameter, namely at -8º Bucket slope, produces a turbine rotation of 416.7 Rpm with a nozzle diameter of 19 mm. while with maximum power, the bucket tilt of 8º produces a turbine load of 405 watts with a diameter of 19 mm.

Abstract

Carbon steel 1045 is a material that is widely used for machine components. Due to its malleability and good machinability, and good heat resistance and ductility. The design and impact testing of charpy is a material analysis to determine the toughness or brittleness of the material against sudden loads. By heating the 1045 carbon steel material, using the hardening method using water media to determine the brittleness of carbon steel after being heated. The results obtained after testing were that the impact energy value obtained from specimen1 was greater with a value of 125.739 joules, while for specimen 2 (117.5603 joules) and specimen 3 (103.833 joules). The value of the impact value obtained by specimen 1 was greater with a value of 0.235 j/for specimen 1 while 0.213 j/for specimen 2 and 0.188 j/ for specimen 3. The lower the impact value obtained, the more resilient the fracture occurs in the specimen.
